However, if the QB is able to survive a four game skid and make the necessary adjustments to improve then you're looking at real gold.  Maybe not 24 carrot.  Time will tell.  But gold is gold.

We have 7 games remaining.  There is still a very real chance that he has another four game skid.  It's still too soon to crown this guy as the future.  I want him on the roster next year without question.  But if the opportunity to upgrade at the position is there, I hope Ron and company do it, and not an older veteran who was never the clear favorite in any reasonable sense.

  2. Heinicke has been the main reason we have won in each of the 4 wins.  This team would be no better than 4-6 if Fitzpatrick stayed healthy.  But I feel like recency bias is having people forget how painfully medicore (and sometimes awful) he played in the 4 game losing streak.  Hopefully that streak has flipped for the next few games.

I mean, he made two 28 yard chip shots and a 46 yarder. He didn't miss a kick, so that's good. But it seems to me he was just hitting the kicks he should have at the NFL level. He wasn't out there booming 60 yarders.

This is better than Dustin Hopkins, who saved by a penalty against the Giants, missed a field goal or extra point in all but two games.

  4. I hate to bring up the "KC" word, but Kirk Cousins was absolutely abysmal in his first 16 games as a starter.  The people writing off Kyle Allen after 17 career starts is legitimately baffling to me.  And Allen's numbers are better than Cousins's.  Now here comes the disclaimer: I do not think Allen is "the future" or that he will turn into the next Kirk Cousins...but he was easily the best quarterback on this roster last season and it wasn't even close.

He has to have dirt on the NFL and other owners.  I'd imagine they are scared to band together to remove him because of what he knows.  They know that he will burn everything down.

I don't know.  I've always heard from various sources (local and national) that the other owners do not like Snyder and have essentially put up with him since he's bought the team.  The only owner he is close to is Jerry Jones.  Jones might be afraid of some skeletons in his closet, but I can't see Snyder having the dirt on all of the other owners.

It puts the owners under the gun for ALL of their skeletons in the closet.  It doesn't have to be women related, it could be about anything.  If one owner gets booted out for bad behavior it sets a precedent for them.

I've heard this theory thrown around...but nothing came out about the other owners when the Richardson stuff came out.  It's just amazing to me that they haven't tried to oust Snyder yet.

It’s pretty obvious why he was on the couch.

I am firmly in the "I want to see Kyle Allen to see if he or Heinicke are going to be the backup next year" camp, but also disagree with this sentiment.  In the games he has played in, he has proven to be at least a top ten backup in this league.  His athleticism alone should keep him on a roster for the next few years.  It's not like he came in and played like PJ Walker or Davis Mills.  He has played well for a backup quarterback.

Man, I 'almost' forgot about Haskins selfie.  Feels like ages ago.

    Same.

And the more I think about it, at the time I didn't really think it was too much of an issue, but with hindsight and all, we should have collectively been angrier about that.

This team has zero choice but to draft a quarterback after running fools errands attempting to trade for Rodgers or WIlson.

After last season, I convinced myself that we might have some fun with Fitz this year.  However, it's never been more abundantly clear that we absolutely have to draft a QB and do whatever it takes to get the right guy.

If they trot out Matt Ryan to start the season, I think that will finally be the nail in my fan coffin - as far was watching every Sunday.

Watson is the only guy I would quit this team over.  Like actively never watching them again and rooting against them.

This is why I said I wanted to see more of the guy. Its not enough to just try really hard in the NFL. I take back what I said about Him being about as good as I expect from Fitz. I expect at least average form Fitz in most games. I'm got getting average from Taylor right now.

Fitzpatrick throws a better ball, but is less mobile.  They are essentially the same quarterback.  It was just three years ago where he threw for over 400 yards and only managed to net 3 total points against us.  Look at Fitzpatrick's last 7 starts (not counting the Chargers game this season) compared to Heinicke's 6 (7 total games because of the Chargers game in relief):
