Agreed. Don't let Ron nor Dan make ANY major moves at this point.
You know he can't help himself, right?

He's going to have a real test playing against one of the best defenses in the league in what is essentially a road game.

This should have been tweeted out last week.

3+ quarterbacks starting games in the last 3 seasons.

Apparently Hurts is starting the final game for the Eagles, and the Giants have zero to play for, so maybe this will resign the Cowboys to rest their starters at some point?
-
I don't think Ron is kowtowing to social media pressure. Couldn't it just be he wants to see how Howell does with the 1's before he makes a final decision?
-
This is alarming regardless of who starts.

Maybe Rivera is waiting to see how Howell looks with the 1's before making a final decision on who is going to start?

Looks like the tweet got deleted.
It just said something about "shifting winds in Ashburn" and something to the effect of who knows where this team is going with this decision.

Per usual? The media rightfully kills this team on a regular basis. They are only privy to a portion of practice.
Yes, when it comes to protecting the fragile ego of Wince Harry. Remember the president quasi-threatening "special access" to reporters for asking the most benign of questions earlier this year?
-
It will be hilarious if he names Carson the starter today.
-
The media, per usual, was silent as a mouse during the week leading up to the Browns game with regards to how Wentz looked in practice. When he **** the bed against the Browns, the reports starting coming out about how horrible he looked in practice all week. Unless it was an owner driven decision, Rivera should lose his job. I don't think he will, but he should.

Keim brought up Brissette as an option if Heinicke goes somewhere else. Would he really be that much of an improvement?

My guess, this is Rivera trying to help TH.
Remember TH makes 100k for every game he starts and they win.
I suspect have him start. Play no more then a half. Give him a chance to get some extra cash.

Unless the decision to go back to Wentz last week came from the owner, this makes zero sense to go back to Heinicke as a "oopsie, sorry about that".

I don't know how many snaps they plan on giving Howell, but I really don't care who started this game as long as it wasn't Wentz.

They struggle to score 20 points most weeks for the league average. Their lone "blowout" was against the 2 win Texans.
Anyone with any common sense could see that turning the reigns over to a guy who sucked in your system for the first 6 weeks who was coming off of the bench after not playing for 10 weeks after an injury to his throwing hand was going to struggle. If Rivera really had any cojones he would have went to Howell for the Browns game.
-
Lol at them thinking they were going to have a "lopsided win".

They werent getting anyone else. They needed to "win" so they had to go the vet route.
It reeks of desperation until you realize that it was the owner's choice. Everything else makes sense once you come to that realization.

Where they went wrong with Wentz, was his inability to learn a new offense and his loss of mobility.
If only there was 5 years of film they could have studied. He's been terrible in any system that was not ran by Frank Reich. He'll be out of the league next year.

But hard to bench a dude who just did that.
It wasn't hard to bench a dude who had two costly turnovers just the week prior. Should have pulled him immediately after that second interception.

The local guys seem to think Howell isn't going to play, but the national people sure seem to think he will. From Albert Breer:

But you have to see what you got before the draft. The team could have a top-10 pick, and it'd be foolish to go into the draft without some idea if QB has to be considered.
I don't disagree.

Rivera alluded to this in his presser. Good guy Heinicke.
