Raiders look better under Stidham than they have under Carr. But part of that is Stidham’s familiarity factor with McDaniels offense. Similar to Heinicke.

Which is even more of a reason why I don't want Carr next year.  Logan Pauslsen made a similar observation on Sheehan's podcast.  Carr struggles in a new offense.  While I do think Carr is a better leader and is mentally tougher than Wentz, I still think this will be more of the same with Carr next year.

I mean, heinicke wasn’t doing himself any favors with the turnovers the past few weeks……what did he expect the coach to do, continue playing him as we fail to put up more than 20 points and he fumbles the ball deep on our side of the field?

Yeah they should have went to the guy who produced 3 turnovers and 10 points instead in the middle of a playoff push.

At some point, I can see Heinicke wanting to take his chances elsewhere.  He's established enough of a market for himself in the league that he doesn't have to keep hanging around here.

I don't think he'll be anything more than a backup quarterback elsewhere, but I hope he leaves this dumpster fire of an organization.  They benched him for that?  I'd want out immediately.

No one will ever convince me that Wentz wasn’t Snyder’s idea. The pattern of behavior is far to significant to prove otherwise.

No one will ever convince me that the decision to go back to Wentz wasn't Snyder's idea.  There is no way in hell these coaches watched this over a full week and thought, "yeah, he's the guy".  This was a Snyder move 101.  Which makes perfect sense for the season to go "down the Heinie hole" after "the return of Wentz".

Also feels fitting in our constant QB hell situation to come out of the season with a maybe answer versus a solid yes or solid no.

It would be the most Washington thing ever to have the owner's guy lose the next game but play well, have the Lions and Packers both win, and then play Howell in a meaningless game against backups and also look good opening the door for a "who should be the starter in 2023" debate all offseason.

That doesn’t cut it, and there’s now enough evidence that Wentz won’t magically change it. Oh, the quarterbacks above? QB A — the one with the (slightly) lower touchdown percentage, higher interception and sack rates, lower passer rating and QBR? That’s Wentz. For all his appeal, Heinicke has shown he’s not a franchise quarterback. Wentz has similar (or worse) stats — and he somehow is? Nope. No way.

It makes sense to turn back to Wentz against Cleveland because Heinicke has followed his magical run by going 0-2-1 and turning the ball over too frequently. But tread lightly here. Maybe there’s a way for the defense to lift the team to victories over the Browns and the Cowboys and to fight for a playoff win — and for Wentz to be more passenger than pilot, which could make moving on from him in the offseason a bit easier. Could.

Such a tough spot. If Wentz plays well, is he back in 2023? Is that what the Commanders and their fans should want? The answers may well be “yes” to the first and “no” to the second, which would keep the Commanders right where they have been for what seems like eternity: looking for a franchise quarterback, again and again and again.

That would go against everything he’s said publicly about what he wants from his next opportunity.

This was brought up on the McAfee show yesterday.  Apparently he liked this tweet.  Payton can chose anywhere he wants to go, but the Chargers made the playoffs so I don't see a coaching change there.  Same with Dallas.

I'm starting to think you don't watch football at all and definitely saw zero snaps of the Eagles game. Games tied 34-34. Minshew pick. 34-37 Cowboys. Eagles driving at the end. Redzone pick on a horrible pass. Minshew.

You are just making things up at this point.  The Eagles had Dallas on a 3rd and 30 with 8 minutes to go up by seven and they gave up that deep bomb to TY Hilton which led to 7 to tie the game.  Then Gardner Minshew threw a bad pick which resulted in a 37-34 Cowboys score.  Then Gardner Minshew handed the ball off to Sanders who fumbled the ball back to Dallas.  But yes, that was all on Minshew.

I could have sworn the Colts blamed him the collapse of their season and traded him away, after using a first for him, from a team that dumped him after giving him a monster contract.

Wentz was seen as the scapegoat for an impulsive owner who was bitter that they missed the playoffs because of the final game of the season.  People were touting his QBR last year and his stats from that season.  Good, but not great.

If you can't over take Taylor Heinicke and Caron Wentz on the depth chart? No.

We're talking about next season, not this season.

Stat wise in general Carr matches his reputation which is good albiet not great.

Which...is what Wentz's reputation was prior to coming here.

    Did you watch the game?

Yes, he was a reason they lost but "definitely" not the reason.

I couldnt hate a move more than trading for Carr. Its the same move we have done for 2 decades.

Derek Carr is Carson Wentz with eyeliner.  I do think Carr is a better leader, but don't expect any different results with him.  Malik Willis looks legitimately terrible so it would shock me if the Titans were to move on from Tannehill.  I'm still 100% behind Minshew.
