"End of public disagreements" looks like a suicide pact to me. The criticism they levied on the Ds for investigating Trump is small potatoes compared to doing this crap while people are losing their jobs and dying. The stupid thing is if Trump actually had it in him to exhibit empathy and non-partisan leadership he would most likely get a bump out of this mess.

I think there was a surge in spending at the beginning of this with people stocking up on certain things. Paper products and cleaning supplies certainly, probably electronics too. But when you look at the breakdown form today you see that a lot of consumer spending has to do with going out and impressing people - new clothes. etc, or even shopping as entertainment. That stuff is going to have a hard time coming back.

When Trump tweeted he wanted Obama to testify I was instantly all on board. He even implies the House should call him in. I'm all for Pelosi doing so. I know it won't happen, but imagine how well he would do in a hearing. Brilliant chance to trash Trump's inept campaign, transition, and corrupt administration.

I find it heartwarming that investors made a crapload of money over the last couple of weeks while 30 million successfully applied for unemployment insurance and probably millions more are on hold. And really, no offense because I look out for my family first too but it's really f'd up that the market went up like it did when, IMO, its about to hit new lows as reality sets in.

I had a back and forth on Facebook with a Trumpist who sort of gave this defense, "he didn't say it was ok to inject disinfectant, he was just saying it was worth looking into". My response was he has a ten year old's grasp of science. I probably should have said "ignorant ten year old's". I sort of empathize with people who have to work with Trump and may believe they are doing good work despite him, but we really need some of them to just admit he is unfit in public. Add: Imagine the number of hours the top medical experts in America have spent briefing Trump on Viruses, pandemics, medical responses to such, etc, before he goes and says what he did yesterday.
