  1. I'm on a fishing trip and just woke from a nap, totally blanking that I had already responded to this post. But I like this version better so I'm keeping it.
  2. You are right, technically they have never voted an owner out. But again Richardson had no interest in selling before the controversy, he had planned to pass the franchise on to his kids. So it really wasn't voluntary at all. So "vote him out" or "force him out" seems to be semantics. Either way they rid the league of an owner for poor behavior so it's more similar than people here want to admit IMO.
  3. Richardson had planned to pass the team to his kids, just like Snyder. He had no intentions of selling until the league forced the issue. The only difference here is Snyder will not go away so easily and Richardson was convinced to sell before he was voted out, but it is still a very similar situation.
  4. Why do posters continue to claim this would be a dangerous precedent when we have the name Jerry Richardson as the actual precedent? Another poster claimed we needed "proof" of Snyder's behavior. What "proof" did they have on Richardson? The word, and big settlements, of the victims. Well we already have that with Snyder as well as so much more. Now Richardson had more victims claiming he did the harassment, but Richardson did not attempt to intimidate the victims. So there's that. And again so so much more with Snyder.
  5. So racial discrimination is seen as worse than sexually harassment? Not to the harassment victims I would think. Then there are all the other issues that Ross does not have.
  6. But you are totally ignoring the comments from the owners, they are already counting votes. One said that everyone (his word) is tired of all the smoke, and that was before their commissioner was forced to appear before Congress and before Snyder very publicly ducked a Congressional subpoena That was considerably more smoke. Then there is the financial investigation that may or may not provide in the words of one owner "the final nail". Next we have the inability to get a stadium deal which will have an effect on their bottom line, as has the poor attendance. I too have been pessimistic and stated a number of times I didn't think he would ever be voted out. But things are ramping up in our direction and you are foolish to wish this story to die. It's our only hope, Posters claim this would set a dangerous president. Well this would not be a president, again Jerry Richardson was forced to sell based on nothing more than poor behavior. It is my understanding that the wording in the new Code of Conduct clause or whatever it is called is even more stringent now. Just because Richardson volunteered to sell and Snyder probably will not does not change the fact that owners forced another owner out. So it has happened and can again and even if Snyder tries to drag it out in the courts he has no chance of winning.
  7. So much for the theory that Dan does not care about the criticism. You post this as if Daniel Snyder will win a battle against the NFL should they decide to remove him, He won't,
  8. Would it be possible for you to post the article text for those of us too cheap to buy a Post subscription? I'm glad to read this, what annoyed me of the questions I did hear was the committee not pushing back, with examples, when Goodell said he has removed himself from day to day operations when that is simply not true.
  9. Again Congress can not DO anything. But what they can do is create more smoke and keep the story alive. We have already heard one owner say "it's not one thing, it's all the smoke and everyone is getting tired of it". Well this is more smoke, Dan ignoring the subpoena can't be a good look for him, so these hearings are in fact very important. As others have pointed out change of things that we never thought would change do in fact happen, if there is enough pressure. And it's not as if there is not precedent for an owner to be removed, we saw that with Jerry Richardson. Now he bowed to the pressure and volunteered to sell, Snyder will not. But it still happened and can happen again. Why you want Snyder out but want this story to go away is perplexing.
  10. Congress will never come close to getting the votes to remove the anti-trust exemption. So no Congress can't do anything directly. However your 2nd paragraph is exactly what is happening. What Congress is doing, well half of the committee anyway as the other half wanted talk about fentanyl, is putting yet more pressure on the league to do something about. That is what this, the constant Post articles etc are all about. To put pressure on the league until they finally have had enough. I honestly think they are approaching that point, that's why we need more stories to come out and the pressure to continue.
  11. Seems pretty clear to me that Snyder is sensitive to the criticism. We see him respond (mostly through is lawyers) constantly throughout his ownership, often referring to them as "hit pieces". If he didn't care why would he keep responding? One of the things he likes the most about owning the team is it allows him to hang with Tom Cruse, Mathew McConaughey and pretend the cool kids are his friends.
  12. I have not and will not criticize a poster for retaining support for the team. Like you I tried to look past what Snyder is and still supported the team. But everyone has a breaking point and like you this once hard core fan has had enough. I just can't root for the team because when I do that I am rooting for Daniel Snyder and I can no longer do that.
  13. If you really believe Daniel Snyder is not effected by all of this criticism I'm going to suggest that you are out of touch. Snyder is clearly aware and very upset at all of this.
  14. I was going to say pretty much the same thing. Dan is being criticized for only the stories we know about, there should be little doubt there are a ton of other stories we are unaware of. So no he gets absolutely no benefit of the doubt and the people who have stuck up for him look pretty foolish right about now. Even if all of this ends up in nothing happening with regard to the team ownership it brings me joy that he is well aware of all the criticism and he can't be happy about it.
  15. Your last sentence was what I was trying to point out, I got to believe he of all people is tired of all of this. And the stories are not going away even after Congress halts the investigation. Seems to me if nothing more is done through Congress the damage is already done on the PR front. We need national sponsors to put pressure on the league.
  16. Here you go again, claiming you aren't a Dan Defender. Here's a little help: Saying negative things once in a while mixed in with countless times you rush to his defense will result in the comments made to you here. I have not see anyone agreeing with your takes, I have however seen multiple people call you out for defending the indefensible. Even your own dad disagrees with you. Constantly rushing to Dan's defense, and constantly being critical of his critics, is not a good look, Dan Snyder appears to be a strange hill to die on Your occasional critical comments do not offset the constant posts you make to defend the indefensible, Dan Snyder.
  17. Holy **** dude you really have bad takes. It really needs to be explained to you what a bad look it was on that specific day to make a comment on employees looks on the owner's yacht? Really? That is nothing short of remarkable. My take is Goodell has to be pissed that he had to go through that. I can't believe he is not in favor of removal, and he can share his feelings and recommendation to the other owners. Not sure what that will mean but I do believe he is fed up with having to cover for him. I also am enjoying Daniel Snyder getting rung through the ringer so completely. We just know he is pissed about all of this. And we have not even gotten into the latest accusation, one that has direct ties to Snyder that we were all looking for. How any of you can watch that man in his box in September and actively root for his team to succeed is beyond me. Not me, I hope Jacksonville drills them 53-2.
  18. Goodell failed miserably when asked why a written report, with redactions, could not have been supplied as it was with every other scandal. Cleary the league knows stuff they are covering up. So we have this, the Mary Jo White investigation, the inability to get a stadium deal and John Gruden's law suit which is proceeding and offers more revelations. It's all the hope we have and even though I refuse to believe it will ever happen but there is obviously a group of owners who have had enough of this horrible man.
  19. To me the highlights have been the news that Snyder would be issued a subpoena and that Rodger has never seen a worse workplace environment. Of course he had no credible answer why a written report with names redacted were made available in other investigations,
  20. People are laughing at this post but I was dead serious. If you take a settlement and sign an agreement that you will keep you mouth shut how can she tell her story later without ramifications?
  21. What time will Goodell be talking to Congress? Can someone who is a lawyer, not the son of a lawyer, explain to me how someone can accept a big settlement with a signed agreement not to discuss the event and then be able to discuss the event years later without violating the agreement and therefore subject to a law suit?
  22. Yeah I don't buy the argument that he wasn't put In position to make players. He just didn't make them.
  23. You nailed it. Brian is entirely too arrogant, his schtick about how tough he is and how dad was hard on him and that made him tough got real old, I'm glad he's no longer on 980.
