  1. Best case scenario for our rebuild (imo) is landing a good enough draft pick to take Daniels, and trading it to someone who isn't in the division. Get down to the 5-10 range and draft a stud LT. Acquire extra picks. I haven't watched a ton of college ball this year nor am I one to "study tape," however my scouting credentials do include strongly favoring Stoud over Young last year. Daniels highlight reel is devoid of mid level NFL throws. He's either throwing over the top of the defense or running the ball. And he takes more hits running it than would be ideal. He reminds me a lot more of RG3 than Lamar.
  2. Young I disagree with just because of how little they got for him (and imo how much potential he still has). Definitely could see moving one of our established blue chips on a veteran contract (Allen, Payne, Mclaurin) for a 1st or more.
  3. Might not agree with selling as low as we are but I am overall supportive. Major reset coming, we’ll be looking at a full teardown to start in on a rebuild.
  4. Should have just tagged Chase. He was starting to look decent again and I’m interested to see how he would look in another year. Unless it’s a conditional 3 that could be as high as a 1st (if he signs with them) or something along those lines.
  5. Was Rivera asked about the mystery review? Was there an explanation? I assume if someone ruled it incomplete on the field there would be video of it (back judge running up to confer, etc). All I know is before Slay went down injured, the side judge called it a catch, ran and spotted the ball, and called for the chains to be moved. If the Eagles thought it wasn’t a catch, before the two minute warning, they should have had to challenge it. Given there was no video evidence to that the ball hit the ground, the call on the field would have stood. This is one of the most blatant screw jobs the refs have ever committed against Washington because it wasn’t just a missed or bad call. It was blatantly breaking the rules to benefit the Eagles.
  6. Shutout. 62-0 Eagles win. They let off the gas after going up 42-0 at halftime. 10 sacks for the game. Sam Howell exits injured in the fourth quarter. People lose their jobs on Monday.
  7. Doesn’t quite have the same ring as “Believe” but hey what do I know.
  8. Chase is starting to flash the disruptive force you want from a top 5 DE. I don’t think you trade him mid season unless someone gives a first round pick. I also think it’s worth tagging/re-signing him and letting Sweat walk, if those are your choices. Sweat is good. Chase can be dominant.
  9. I’ll only give him the benefit of the doubt since he’s five games in, not four years. But he’s been bad.
  10. There’s no reason to let them finish the season. Next three games are Falcons, Giants, Eagles. If we split the first two and lose to the Eagles, go ahead and fire them all. If we lose the first two just go ahead and do it then. edit to add: I’m a little torn on who should be fired. It would probably be too disruptive to fire JDR and Rivera simultaneously during the season. While JDR is obviously deserving of being let go, maybe just keep him on for continuity while the season winds down.
  11. Fairly certain the last coach (and possibly only one in my lifetime) that Washington got fired was Ron Rivera.
  12. Pure speculation on my part but I don’t think Dems would have let him get yanked if they didn’t think they could come out of this renomination process with a better option. And given how difficult it was for McCarthy to be approved, there’s a reasonable chance that a coalition centrist could use Dem support to win the speakership.
  13. The lack of tackling effort after giving up the long pass is infuriating. Benchable imo.
  14. Yeah people are posting the pic but it’s worth noting that daylight you think you see between the white of his shoe and the white of the line could easily be the red stripe at the bottom of Terry’s shoes. Imo the official who made the call on the field probably had the best angle to see it. Not positive he got it right though. I would have been livid if that call was overturned against us. Absolutely a situation where “call stands” was the right thing regardless of how it was called on the field.
  15. Purging republican voter rolls and saving money on social security/Medicare. The country will be ok.
  16. Hurts still isn’t an elite passer, but his skill set really complements Philly’s strengths. They looked shaky for the first game but their OC seems to have recommitted to running the ball and it’s paying off (cough cough EB). Add that they have a dynamic WR corps and an elite Oline, and their offense is really hard to contain for 60min.
  17. Gut says Eagles blowout, so I’ll go against the grain: I think they take the lessons from the Bills game and improve their game plan. They run the ball more and simplify things for Sam. Washington loses a surprisingly close one. Fans still have a meltdown.
  18. Down 30-0 and they’re still making Howell drop back and pass every play. Game’s cooked, at least roll out a balanced offense and pretend it’s 0-0.
  19. They called a time out to drop 9 people in coverage on 3rd and 8, only to have their best receiver without anyone within 10 yards of him.
  20. Gotta change your mind about going for it on 4th when you lose that yard or so on 3rd. I get the idea you’re going to run it twice from the 1 but it was clear Rivera hadn’t considered the lost yardage situation.
  21. Shorter pass to get 8-10yd would have been the play there, if it was open.
  22. Biggest area for improvement so far is working on that internal clock and not trying to do too much.
