  1. Of the four, QPR is the most mercenary of the lot. That's part of their problem the last couple of years, no real team spirit, IMO.
  2. Yeah, I remember when we were still in the Premiership and people ****ed about pretty football. Then Allardyce was canned and we got in people who tried attractive football but sucked and didn't fit with the squad we had and we went down. Give me results. If you can afford to spend gobs of money on talent or have a team that can play all out attacking all the time then play all the pretty football you want. Otherwise, it's just a crutch that fans use when their team gets beat and say well they played ugly so in effect, cheated.
  3. 10 points from 4 games. I guess your standards for garbage are different than mine.
  4. My wife surprised me with a Blackburn shirt a few years ago and it didn't come with the Premiership patch even though she paid for it. I asked how much it was and she told me. I laughed and just said if they would give us the money back then just do that to save the trouble. So we got the money back. Now I wish I had that patch as evidence to people who think I'm wearing an imaginary made up kit. "Blackburn has a team now?"
  5. I like Ian Darke and all, but hope ESPN doesn't get EPL coverage again.
  6. You still would've stunk, GHH. Also, a buddy of mine used to joke that everyone in England was either a footballer or was related to one. When I hear stories from you and MartinC, you pretty much confirm those jokes. Robbo just hit 200 appearances for Rovers this past weekend, by the by.
  7. Found out that Rovers had four men out from the starting 11 against Wolves. Not a deep squad at all, so that hurts. Wolves have been playing very well since promotion, too. Along with Duffy, we loaned in Jason Steele from Boro and Ryan Tunnicliffe from Fulham. Steele should push Robinson for starting keeper, which is good. Tunnicliffe is a holding midfielder from what I read, but really not sure of his caliber. Makes me worried that we got him from Fulham. Might be another depth player, but we have enough of them really. Guess we'll have to see.
  8. You wouldn't take any of our driftwood strikers, I'm not sure if I feel comfortable with your offering...
  9. I'm pleased with the signing. We could do well to get a DM on loan at this point.
  10. Dammit. Rovers lost 3-1 to Wolves. I haven't had time to read up on what happened, but I don't like the yo-yo routine, again.
  11. I'll watch that now. Thanks for the hour of infotainment.
  12. Rovers about ready to sign CB Shane Duffy from Everton, apparently. Don't know anything about the lad, but from what I've read it seems like a good signing. Interesting considering Bowyer asked the owners for money recently and they turned him down. We'll have to look into the loan market again to bolster the squad. Fans seem to want Michael Keane back, but I don't think LVG is going to allow it. Also just loaned out ST Jordan Slew to Port Vale. Sorry, Liverpool, you missed out on another of our strikers. And speaking of the 'Pool, we got a young keeper in Ryan Crump I hear. Sounds like he's going to play for the U21 squad. Any word on him Reds fans? And finally, In Rovers news, it seems the Rhodes rumors are dead. Steve Bruce is miffed, but I don't care.
  13. Sounds like my brief career as a keeper. You look really bad when your defense exposes you. But I'll leave the constructive advice to our resident keeper, MartinC.
  14. Wow man. I'd be worried about going the opposite! We had a stint where they brought in about half a dozen Portuguese players that never got any playing time. We kept hearing that they had quality but never saw the field. Only one who ever did was Nuno Gomes and he was a class player but didn't have the legs anymore.
  15. That's a really bad situation man. Rovers were like that not that long ago. Frustrating and frightening to spend what little funds on useless players.
  16. Wonder why people take cup football so lightly.
  17. Rovers have denied two bids from Hull. Hope they stick to it. Rhodes opened his account of the year today in a 3-2 victory over Bournmouth.
  18. I don't have a problem with it to be honest. And he stated that it's to spend more time with his family. Don't see how that's a bad thing.
  19. QPR complete the loan signing of Chile World Cup star Eduardo Vargas from Napoli. This is surprising. I didn't think QPR could loan people in...
  20. That's not bad stat comparison considering the defensive nature of the Italian league.
  21. Rhodes can go quiet. He's not scored yet this season and he had some longish barren patches last season, most notably the run in. He's a goal scorer for sure, and when he's on he's an absolutely fantastic finisher, but nothing else. I don't say that in a bad way. But he's not an 'all rounder'. I personally like my strikers to be goal scorers so it doesn't bother me that he's not the hardest worker when not on the ball. Just depends on your philosophy I guess. I could see him potentially getting double digits for Hull at least. But I would be sad to see him go.
  22. I'd play him. He's got pace, presumably, which would be more than most of our squad has currently. We have a number of wingers, that don't really get playing time as it is, so I doubt the move would happen. I think Ibe would be an improvement, though.
