  1. Can't watch due to a slow computer, so it's been down to the gamecast on ESPN. Hope Skrtel's alright, sounds bad. My premonition is still on target so far...
  2. Had a dream that Rovers lost today 3-1. It was 0-0 at halftime but Liverpool scored from the tunnel when the teams were coming back out onto the pitch and the ref let it stand. I woke up thinking it was legit, so needless to say I think we're in trouble. Bowyer rested a lot of starters in midweek against Wednesday so it should be a good solid squad selection at least.
  3. Rovers draw today, 1-1, against bottom of table Blackpool. This is why we can't have nice things. The one fella putting his hands on his head after the slam was pretty funny. Also, Stockport has better video quality than Rovers it would appear.
  4. No idea. But it's not like Jason Steele has played well enough in the league to make me cringe when Eastwood gets a chance.
  5. I think Rovers have a squad worthy of promotion if they could get it together, but I won't be surprised at all if we lose. At this stage Bowyer's got to go full strength barring any injuries. Eastwood is our cup keeper, and has played well, so won't be shocked if he plays again. Every other starter should be going. I was a bit disappointed to see such an empty stadium against Stoke, but I know the long running ill feelings towards the Venky's so I can't be too harsh I guess. But at a certain point I feel the fan base is cutting its nose to spite its face. It's not the ticket prices that have kept people away.
  6. Actually got to watch that match against Stoke. First one this season. Wasn't really impressed with the line up Bowyer put out. It worked out in the end. Stoke's side was much stronger as they fielded a starting caliber team, but Rovers didn't so much. Maybe Bowyer is trying to conserve the squad for another push at the playoffs? Extremely scrappy start to the game, Marshall got hurt and was subbed out after 10 minutes. I don't foresee King reworking that magic in the next round, if he starts. He's only ever scored like half a dozen prior to this match. I thought Rovers were shaky for the first 30 minutes and wasn't confident in a result at all. Crouch scored when Stoke were down to 10 men since Diouf was off the pitch when he was poked in the eye. Once Cameron got sent off it was pretty much over for Stoke as they lost their cool. I think they still could've made a game of it, but King's pace did give them nightmares. Was good to see the lads play. Think I'll make the effort again to watch the Liverpool match as I should be able find a feed for that one as well.
  7. My earlier optimism for promotion looks like it will again be boned. Terrible form of late from Rovers, now sitting in 10th. Probably finish mid table again, which isn't terrible, but there's a lot of big wages on the books so there's going to have to be some folks shipped out soon to keep on the good side of FFP. On the good news, at home vs Stoke in the FA Cup. Would've preferred Rochdale, personally, as right now I can't count on much with this squad. Just way too inconsistent. But hey, take what we can get at this point.
  8. Blackburn were considered by some to be somewhat thugish under Hughes (at least were generally leaders in cards). I don't think he minds.
  9. Junior Malanda died in a car accident yesterday. Way too young. RIP.
  10. I've done a mix with FIFA. I always play a Blackburn career but then I'll play as other clubs, too. I usually try the lower clubs in England and usually try not to repeat clubs so I get a feel for different players. Sometimes I do player careers but those never usually last very long. I find having two or three careers going on at once keeps it fresh so I don't get bored and then make a stupid decision in one of my careers (like jumping to a new club or selling off a bunch of players).
  11. Leeds and Forrest also in on the FFP embargo. What do you think Morrison J, MartinC and that one Forrest fan I know is floating about? http://www.football-league.co.uk/news/article/2014/championship-financial-fair-play-season-201314-submissions-2144136.aspx Also, oldest footage of a football match dating to 1898 featuring Rovers and West Brom. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2877268/Blackburn-West-Brom-feature-oldest-footage-football-match-dating-1898.html
  12. Two losses in a row for Blackburn along with the news that due to Financial Fair Play we're now under a transfer embargo in January.
  13. Following the ESPN Gamecast this weekend with Rovers vs Boro. Had us losing 1-0. When I checked the match report the next day it said we drew 1-1 with a very late equalizer in stoppage time by Rudy Gestede. ESPN never bothered to update with a goal, but kept updating with throw ins, etc. Get it together ESPN, really. Unbeaten in 9, sitting in 6th and four points back of first place. Rovers fans out there still not confident in Bowyer. Absolutely mental. Granted I had my moment of weakness earlier in the year (documented somewhere in this thread). But he's built upon his successes at every step. Insanity to try and sack him for anyone else right now.
  14. I just finished watching the highlights. Both of our goals were the soft variety. I'm used to those sorts of things happening to Rovers, so I can commiserate in your wallowing.
  15. Bad result for you guys, but I'm extremely pleased with our form of late. Still need to tighten up a little at the back and work on goal differential but sitting in 6th is good right now. That Red Bull v New England match yesterday was the first MLS match I've seen in a couple of years. It was a very good game.
  16. I'm pretty sure that came over Grant Hanley of Rovers. That should be his area of strength, in the air, considering he's got a whole song about how big his head is.
  17. You all laughed when I offered you DJ Campbell and Ruben Rochina for a ham sandwich (or whatever the Liverpool equivalent is). Now who's laughing?
  18. Apparently they both went to the same high school.
  19. I still like Gary Bowyer, and I hope that this recent run of play continues. He has a tendency to not adjust his tactics at times but overall he's done well.
  20. Rovers up 2-0. Millwall has a guy ejected. Rovers end up drawing to 10 men Millwall. Towards the end of the match Ian Holloway gets sent to the stands for being Ian Holloway. Disapointing effort. Would've been nice to have those 'easy' extra points, and should've done it. Hopefully this will remind the lads not to get lazy. Doing well lately, just on the edge of the playoffs. It's so tight right now. Been on a good 6 game run with 3 wins and 3 draws. Need to keep up the push.
  21. You can only make 3 subs still, right? Cause that's a lot left on the bench. In brighter news, Aston Villa cancelled their Goal of the Month competition because they scored no goals this past month. That sounds like an Onion article. But serious this time.
