  1. I don't pay much attention to the scuffle kerfuffle.
  2. Bournemouth have been playing well this year.
  3. I love Josh Gatt in FIFA. If he pans out half like he does for me in FIFA it'll be great.
  4. My first and second problems all wrapped up into one.
  5. I can see where he's coming from, but I'm not sure. Would like to hear someone who played the position and what they think (I sucked so I don't count). I was short for a keeper so I usually tried to do the crouch and explode method. I think his arms might be too low, but that would be the only thing I was thinking when I saw it.
  6. So is Donovan's retirement as big a deal as it's being made out to be? Granted he's the all time leader for the US in goals and assists and brought passion when he was on the field. But, he also had decent stretches of lethargy off of it and seemed to often have sebaticals. I actually thought he was fairly well overrated up until the 2010 World Cup. That tournament opened my eyes to what others were talking about. Will the fallout with Jurgen tarnish his record with the USMNT? Thoughts?
  7. Paul Ince for Blackburn in '08 for about 6 months. Avram Grant's Jewish.
  8. Yes. Not in the budget. Might be yours, not mine.
  9. The keeper was there too for Charlton. He's wearing purple or grey or something, hard to see, and screened by the Blackburn player closest to goal.
  10. Ouch. I was contented that NBC would show a match around noon, but I haven't been catching them lately. Combo of not getting the chance and I don't think they've been showing many on the main channel.
  11. I don't really get a chance to watch them. I've heard that BeIn or some other network plays the occasional Championship match, but I'm one of those who've cut the cable cord (I never had that package anyway, though). If I have time I'll try to stream (if the game is even televised), but it doesn't really happen much anymore. Having two small children has put a crimp into that sort of thing. I keep up with them via GameCasts, reading match reports and following their YouTube channel. I don't really frequent the forums much anymore. If people think Skins fans are negative visit a Rovers forum. Oish. The only other option that I haven't gone down is that Rovers have a radio subscription. Contemplated it but never pulled the trigger. From what I've read it's sort of dodgy at times. Yeah, he got one. With his feet, too! The only thing I really miss from having cable is NBC Sports. It was awesome being able to watch all those matches.
  12. How I started with Blackburn. Started following Friedel.
  13. Don't tell GHH this but Everton is one of the clubs I've admired. I always liked that they seemed to punch above their weight class and always a determined side. My wife has run into a Portsmouth fan in Canada. He was Canadian. I would have loved to talk to him. Ran into another guy up there who followed Chlesea because of Drobga, he was original from Ivory Coast. Some would say we bought it, too. Sort of the nature of the beast to a certain degree, I guess. But looking back on it now it was paltry money.
  14. Well, they are. I don't know much more than that. I don't really get any comments on my Rovers stuff, but I don't really expect to. The only place I encounter other Rovers fans is on a Rovers specific board. I have a bit of a Napoleon complex when it comes to that I think, lol. I ran into a high schooler the other day that was excited to talk to someone about soccer. He follows the Bundesliga and likes Bayern. I told him I liked Rovers and he said he never heard of 'em. I told him I wasn't surprised. Part of the package. I guess it's somewhat unfortunate for me that I chose a town club to support but the heart wants what the heart wants... I do think that it's going to get bigger as well.
  15. I feel like the crazy person in the corner talking to himself in here sometimes. I don't follow the women's game all that much, usually just watch during the World Cup. I can't believe they're making them playing on astro turf.
  16. A scholarship for former golf cadies?
  17. Sweet merciful crap. Lost to Rotherham 2-0. I like Bowyer a lot, but I'm at the point now where I don't think he's going to even get us into the playoffs. I think our squad is decent but he's not getting it right. He had a good run at the end of last year and I was all for giving him some time this year, but there's been too much inconsistency. Tough one, though, cause I'm not sure if Venky's can get it right. Bowyer was their best move yet and he's been able to bring about a professionalism that was lacking for a while. He's steadied the ship but doesn't look like we'll be going up. There's no ruthlessness when we go ahead and can't close out games. I wouldn't be pressed too badly on the issue, but if FFP is all its said to be and the club's debt already looming behind then Venky's have to make a switch to a manager who can get the club up. Otherwise there will be a major fire sale in the near future and who knows where the club will end up.
  18. I gave Southampton a hard time because I thought they were just trying to cash in, but it looks like so far they've gotten the right balance. I do like to see 'smaller' clubs do well and punch above their weight (except Burnley).
  19. You should be able to handle Boro with that squad.
  20. Redskins special teams highlight reel material here:
  21. Well, to say that Anfield is a fortress when you're playing awesome in big games is one thing. Saying Elland Road is a fortress in the Championship is another. It's fun to be a fan when you're on top. It's another when you're mired in mediocrity (no offense Leeds) and are still loud as hell. And I don't really care about either team (though you Liverpool guys are doing your best at trying to make me hate you, that's for sure). Blackburn is a fan base that is very much like the Skins now where everyone's at each others throat and at best fill up Ewood Park about half way. All I can do is stare at my computer screen.
  22. I think Elland Road has the best crowds in the Championship from what I've seen.
  23. I thought United fans were the uppity ones?
