  1. Sure but the ownership change is not helping. It most likely is a one year stint at the job before everyone get fired. Maybe a young guy with ambitions could try to jump in and make this offense a juggernaut then hope to be named HC in a year. But there's close to 0 chances of this happening anyway.
  2. Really? Putin has been on Ukraine for more than 8 years now. Time is on his side, not ours. Our democracies will get tired of this before Putin or anyone that will succeed him.
  3. Maybe, that's really a good question to wonder about. By the "bests" reports there's been around 180K russians soldiers killed, injured or incapacited in any way in nearly a year of fight. They were 120K at first, then 300K more. Now, maybe 500K. Which would make it 920K russians send in Ukraine. 920/180 is a little bit above 5. So, at this pace, it will take another 4 years to get rid of every russians since they doesn't seem to flee much from combat. And that's with taking the best actual reports which are probably false. That's a ****load of money to spend, ammo, tanks, fighters and everything that goes with it to give to Ukraine, and a few presidents here and there to change... And that's with Putin not sending another bunch of a million guys more or two into the fight. Which would inevitably happen at any time if things aren't going his way. Objectively, our strategy doesn't look great until western countries actually turn to real war economy at all levels and starts getting Abrams, Leopards, Leclerc or whatever at a rate of 50 a day from any industry dedicated to it, and a ****ing gazillion of missiles, ammo to feed Ukrainian soldiers with. Not just looking at our stocks and counting on two hands what we can feed them with, because that's obviously not enough. 200 tanks aren't gonna scare 500K russians soldiers at all.
  4. Logistics has always been the main problem in every war since the beginning of humanity and wars. I get the point of spare parts and everything, but if food is not on time on a daily basis for your soldiers, if you don't your infantry won't do ****. Logistics is was bite Napoleon during is Russian campaign, or the 3rd Reich as well. They were running short of almost everything in the end and there was no way for them to counter that. The main logistics to have is food for the infantry. Because for all your planes, boats, submarines, Himars, tanks and everything you can think of, in the end, you'll need soldiers to occupy the ground just to say "hello there!". Still, we're about to have the highest end of modern armies fighting one that is using the oldest tactics of time: mass bodies send to the fight and don't give a **** about the casualties as long as they win. As unequipped and unarmed or untrained as the russians soldiers are, they still aren't revolting or retreating in any way. That's a deadly combination to face; people that aren't moving back and are largely outnumbering you. Ukraine cannot lose this war, but that's still not a given thing that they'll win in the end.
  5. Netherlands are already considering giving F-16 from some reports, and didn't wait for Zelensky to ask for it. I wasn't discussing maintenance, just the operative part of it. But I may have explained myself wrong.
  6. That's an argument I read often on many stuff we did send to Ukraine. Honestly, I don't see that big of a deal. Using a tank isn't that hard. Maintaining and fixing it is probably harder. But you could still have use of tanks or whatever weapons you want, correctly, without spending months training to it and have maintening teams training to repair stuff if they make it out of a fight in one piece. A week or two of intense training should be enough for any military crew to properly operate a tank. When I was a conscript in the french army, it didn't take our team months to use and maintain our tank. Granted that was some 20 years ago, wasn't that hard, and some of my teammates weren't the brightests guys in the world. I believe that's largely exagerated.
  7. Opposite to Dan, Bezos didn't really lucked into being one of the richest guy in the world. He's probably not perfect and most likely the most altruist guy in the world, no doubt. But I don't see him as a guy that would be happy with a crappy stadium and a team that is the **** show it is right now on and off the field.
  8. I'm not sure that Germans want to send their own Leopards. It's more about them allowing Poland, Finland and others to send theirs to Ukraine. It could end up being the same thing with Leclerc. Also, there's not much interest in sending 2 or 3 different types of tanks in small quantity, it would be a logistic problem for Ukraine in the end. But sending mass of the same type would be much more helpful. So I doubt there's really a great interest in sending Abrams just to say we've send some to Ukraine. The materials send must be helpful and not hinder Ukrainian army in any way.
  9. NATO is slowly hinting at more heavy weapons coming this week. So I'm expecting news from that Rammstein meeting infos. From what I understood from various reporters is that first Germany will allow the transfer of Leopards tanks to Ukraine. But since they don't want to do it alone, you can expect a bit more. GLSDBs would be a good trade off for tanks and could go along nicely. Some french Leclerc tanks could be useful in here too. Tomorrow is gonna be an interesting day regarding the evolution of this war. Don't know if that'll be the game changer everyone is waiting for, because well, 500K more bodies on the fields is still huge. It would take a long time to kill em all, as I'm not expectly Russians to flee the frontline or rebel against old Vlad.
  10. I'm actually looking to redo and modernize my power tools, because I've got tons of ideas for my home. Most of them are getting old now and were mostly cheap tools. So, I'd like to improve their quality and thought it would be better to go with the same brand. Thus having one kind of batteries for them all, and not having to deal with different ones. Since I'm not planning to buy them all at once, budget is not much of a problem as I'm also not intending to buy 50 different tools. Maybe that's what I'll reach in the end, but, right now, not the goal. I would go with a screwdriver, drill, jigsaw, circular one. Basic beginning stuff. that I'll complete as time goes by. Ok, everything seems fine, except I don't really know with which brand to run, and that's where I need help. I've considered brands like Bosch, Makita, Milwaukee, Dewalt, mainly but still haven't set my mind. As of now, I would say that Bosch and Milwaukee are out. I've already had some Bosch tools and they're good, but they aren't also great. Had some experience with Makita at work, and it's been good, so I do like it, they got one battery to rule them all, so the brand fits what I want to do, they got a ****ing range of tools for almost everything so it's good too. I had to use some DeWalt too, and that's cool stuff too. Everything I've read about it seems interesting and those 54V tools are intriguing. That can make up for wired tools too. But then, we're not on the same kind of batteries and that's not exactly what I'm looking for. But I'm still tempted. So, any advice on which brand should I go with? Hopefully I'll make the ride for the next 20 years, so I don't want to choose this in a hurry.
  11. Not that talking about Midway is uninteresting, because it is, but that's completly off topic. Maybe we should have a thread about it so we can keep this thread clean?
  12. If bids are at 6.3 billion or something, that's for the whole team. Not 51%. Nobody's gonna put 6.3 Billion, and a stadium to build for just 51% of the team. Those billionaires aren't that stupid...
  13. It would be fun if those bidders set themselves at less than 7 billion, then Bezos tops them all at 7, leaving Dan with no other choice than selling to Bezos.
  14. That's a tricky question. You'll get 10 differents interepretations of "his dream" out of 10 peoples. So anwers are most likely to go from irrelevant, to "Aliens"... I would believe that most never really understood it as it was supposed to be. I'm not sure I do myself.
  15. I guess he can enter the bids rounds anytime. Just like pole jumper that can pass on lower bar and keep everything they have for the higher ones.
  16. Dan is fully aware that owners can veto a sale. That vetoed his partner 23 years ago and encouraged Dan to make a bid by himself. So I can easily see them do it again now if they want Bezos and not somebody else. But I believe Dan will take the highest bid and ride with his money because Leia said it first:
  17. Wasn't it Norman that used to say that in the end a WR can only run 7 different routes max? So honestly, I don't think you really need to have a 300 pages playbook to be efficient. You might as much success if you have the right players, you could spend the year playing with a hundred plays and be fine. At some point, coaches have to let players play and have fun.
  18. The best part about Russians nuclear missiles is that it was the Ukrainians that used to maintain them because they don't really know how to do it...
  19. They've added that to their to do list as soon as putin talked about it. All it'll take will be a bunch of 200 bucks drones to sink a multi billion dollar ship...
