  1. I don't get why it would be forbidden for a player to bet on another sport? I'm not even sue why they couldn't bet on a game as long as it's not a game they play in, it seems fine to me.
  2. Hey! We're talking Dan Snyder here. I wouldn't expect him to make a smart decision after seeing him run this team to the ground during more than 20 years. That offer from Harris smells and looks like a scam from miles away, but I'm not sure Dan can see the difference. The simple fact that he's letting this story on air, proves that he's not that smart. Otherwise, he'd have a done deal with Harris/Rales already.
  3. Well they're obviously going defensive right now. Trying to protect whatever small gain they got. But their rush of unequipped infantry failed miserably... So they don't have much other option. Ukraine will have a one shot offensive to make, so they better not fail it. And I suspect NATO is gonna do its best to make it sure this succeed above expectations.
  4. For sure they are. But 300 of them is still a lot and they can do damage as well. Russia has always been counting on numbers to make it work at war, because otherwise they've been kinda bad at it for centuries as they have lost so many wars. (And they wouldn't have won anything against the germans if the Brits and US didn't feed them with ammo and stuff in the beginning of the war). Still numbers works, always have, and always will. KIA will be high against more advanced foes, but if you can manage the death, it's still a powerful strategy that can do much harm to the ennemy. And Russian have proven they' don't give a crap about people being killed in combat. I sincerely agree about your take on our president. But honestly, he's mostly hypocrite and will tell what the other part wants to listen. I have absolutely no doubt he'll change his version if China invade Taiwan or any stupid stuff happening there. In case he's not aware, I'm expecting our generals to remind him, that France has a ****ing long range of sea that is our property in the Pacific, so we'll have to defend that. Problem, you can be sure that up until then, he's not gonna do **** about it and get ready for anything. So he'll be taken with his pants down once again because he's got no clue and no sense of geopolitical stuff. Everyone in the Democacry department has made mistakes, from Irak II, to Lybia (hello Nicolas!), going through Kosovo, those have been ****ing mistakes. It doesn't mean we have to stop because we made them. Nope we have to learn from them and come back better. So acting cowardly will help for the time being, until you are the one that gets invaded. Which is what many of those western europe countries are not getting and countries like Latvia, Estonia, and moreso Poland know all to well. If you just shut up, then you're asking to get spanked next time. And as of now, I'm not getting the impression that Europe is getting itself ready for it by reindustrialising the countries, invest in those technologies to be less dependant from China. Nope we're going business as usual hoping those diplomats will get back Xi Jinping to reason. But you just can't convince a man that don't want it.
  5. The good thing: Dan Snyder is selling The bad thing: He'll make 6 Billions out of it. The best thing: He'll probably be broke in less than 10 years anyway
  6. @SoCalSkins I'll have you a beer one day to celebrate that!
  7. Hey I could see Bezos staying quiet and mum just to piss Dan because he barred him from bidding earlier. Hell, I could even see him wait for Harris' bid to expire, then bid at 5.5B once everyone is infuriated about Dan not selling.
  8. New facilities will help, but aren't the be all end all of it. The report from the NFLPA about team facilities that was published a month or two ago had us at the bottom. But teams like the Chiefs were also noticed as bad. The most important thing for a player is trying to win titles, so they'd rather look for teams where they can do that, type of facilities will be a bonus. So, getting a new owner, will change how we're viewed in the NFL, Bruce and Dan used to not be liked within the NFL. So that'll be a fresh start regarding that. Players will be able to focus on playing and don't worry about the surrounding noise, as long as it's not them making it. We'll know more about that during the 2024 offseason obviously.
  9. @Redwards you may want to edit your post, it's going against the rules and the profanity filter I believe I believe that yes, this team for many "interested" was not looking that great. Harris isn't meeting 6 Billion, and Bezos seems to be cold about it too. So Dan is not gonna make as much money as he first hoped to. Dan will never cease to amaze me. Each time I'm expecting him to fail big time about everything he does. And he always ends up doing it even worse than envisioned.
  10. I agree, But I would believe this thread is already more than appropriated:
  11. I doubt that purely financially speaking, buying this team at 6B is worth it. Especially not if you do not intend to sell it at some point. But I doubt NFL owners would be pleased if they see their toy being seen as just casual speculative stuff... Bidding at 6 Billion, then add facilities and stadium, and you reach 8 or more. That's a ****ing lot of money that you aren't gonna reimburse with a 5 or 10M bucks each year... That would take eons to get any return of investment. So you don't really get after something like that just for the financial part of it nowadays.
  12. It seems less likely as time goes by. What Magic did yesterday was kinda telling Dan "our offer is on the table, take it or leave it." And that looks like they do have the best offer as of now. Dan is clearly trying to upgrade bids with Bezos and such, but Bezos doesn't seem that interested so far for whatever reason. I would believe that's because he's not valuating the team as 6 Billion worth. If Bezos doesn't bid like at all, that kinda forces Dan to either sell to Harris for whatever bid they have on the table and makes much less money. Or he can just say "**** you all" and reject every bids. Then, you can expect leaks from JW report, owners pushing so far and start process all along 'if they don't vote Dan out), which will clearly drives the price down. If I'm Bezos, and I'm fine with both Washington or Seattle, as my NFL franchise, that's a game I could play. Let Dan make a move. I could even see him being already in talks about Seattle. Maybe those heirs in Seattle are waiting to see how much money Dan will make with is crappy team to make a decision on selling the team or not. Well, Bezos could bid lower than Harris on purpose so Dan sells at 5.6 Billion (just an exemple), then buy the Seahawks at 6.5 Billion instead of buying this crappy team with lots of investments to make at 6 Billions.
  13. Wouldn't it be fun for Bezos to top Harris and still not make it to 6 Billion? I would definately laugh about that.
  14. I would take Magic over RG3 any day. And by a ****ing wide margin.
  15. Well if he remains in London, maybe they'll be able to have this team working fine without Dan even noticing. But I believe some report would get leaked to the press if Dan doesn't accept any bids...
  16. Now we know both aren't mutually excluvses.
  17. Exception is already in place for new owners. But I'm not expecting the new owner to say he's gonna change the name right away. That'll be a wait and see approach of it I believe. If the team start being respectable and being a contender, that could go a long way. I would still find the name, uniforms and logo dumbs, but that the least of my concerns right now. And I thought Forty-nine was 49, not 48! You could extend that to every Major League team. I mean Los Angeles Lakers? That's tied to when they were playing in Minnesota lol. Nobody's gonna change the name now. The biggest problem I do have with this brand, is that it has Dan written all over it, and that should be enough to warrant a rebrand ASAP. But as I said, I don't think anyone will do it right off after buying the team. In four years after people aren't getting behind the name, even if the team is contending? I would think so yes.
  18. You should try to google Steeve Bezos. The result is kinda funny, really
  19. That's casual Gameday thread. But since it's the offseason, we're just getting ready for '23. The process would already been done as he would already have won it.
  20. Sure he had some specific interest in this team. But that was prior to many scandals, that the new owners will have to deal with as soon as the sale is official. But once again, the fact that he can outbid everyone and overpay for this team doesn't mean it's a guarantee he'll do it. I would even say that the fact he hired a company to look after it means he's kinda cautious about it. Otherwise, if he really wanted it, he could have just bid at 8 billion the day after bids were open and that would have been game over a long time ago. But he didn't. So he's obviously interested but not at whatever price.
  21. I used to be in the Bezos camp because he can spend a lot on this team without worrying much. He's got enough money to finance everything all by himself, thought that's no garantee he will ever do it. Still, reading your many posts and other articles about Rales and Harris as me more than fine with both and would even say that they do have an edge, for me at least, over Bezos. So congrats! You converted me to it, even if I'm not gonna complain if it's Bezos I'm not reading those bids as "struggling" more like smart businessesmen that don't want to overpay for something. Bezos is no different, even if he can bid at 10 billions, there's no chance he will do it. If he wants to outbid everyone, he'll do it just enough to secure his bid. To make it short, if Bezos values the team at 5 Billion, why should he bid at 7 just to win? As usual, buyers wants to buy at the lowest price possible, and seller wants to sell at the highest prices. Sellers are often overestimating what they are selling, except when they want to sell it quick and undersell it willingly to get rid of it.
