  1. I think the ft/s is only part of the story. It doesn't take into account acceleration or baserunning smarts. Look at Hicks just stretch a single into a double tonight. You have to be fast to do that.
  2. Thats what speed on the basepath can do for you. Force defense to make plays. Crazy how much we have with Mullins, Mateo, Westburg, Hicks, Frazier, Urias, Henderson and McKenna when he plays. Too bad Mateo couldn't get on base more often Edit: I just looked this up and apparently Mountcastle is faster than Mullins (Mountcastle 28.1 ft/s Mullins 27.9 ) Also it doesn't appear we are particularly fast, with only one player (Mateo) in the top 50. The next we have ranked is Westburg at 62 followed by Henderson at 80. Also Frazier and Urias don't have particularly high ranks (in the 300s) Surprising. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderboard/sprint_speed
  3. Maybe Hays should be called "Pop" for the rest of the season.
  4. Not looking good for Cano ... come on just need one more out
  5. Henderson 3 run shot, another trip to Poundtown for the Sawx
  6. Sure, the mobiks get ones that don't work, because they can't complain
  7. I didn't know what it was until I moved west. People in the Bay Area loved it. Because everyone either went to the festival, or freed up the area from the crazies
  8. Henderson crushed one with two on, 6-2 Os now headed to the bottom of the 7th
  9. That dude was a bit nuts, so I think there's a decent chance there's some truth to this I remember this incident when I was a kid. This is the censored version
  10. I'm perfectly fine with winning 2/3 the rest of the way
  11. I don't think its just TNT, but I'm sure it helped. For years the Braves had basically the entire South. There were no teams east of the Mississippi and below the mason Dixon line. Florida teams would not arrive until the 90s I remember watching Cubs games on WGN, especially during the summer when school was out and they frequently played day games - they actually had all day games up until 1988 but even after that they were frequently day games more often than not from what i remember. I liked some of their players (Maddux, Dawson, Dunston, etc.) but never really became a big Cubs fan.
  12. I'm not sure what the White Sox were expecting with a relief pitcher named "Bummer"
  13. Should be able to ... but we'll need another setup man and someone will have to move into the 7th inning guy. And our bullpen has been pretty top heavy this season. After the 1-2 punch of Cano/Bautista its been pretty spotty there. First Baker, then Coloumbe, then Fujinami. I don't think any of those guys is sub 3.00 era like Bautista/Cano have been
  14. And now I am become Santander, destroyer of Blue Jays
  15. That was practically a golf swing by Santander … can’t believe it almost ended up on Eutaw
  16. i am actually totally deaf when not wearing my cochlear implant With it on, I can sometimes understand dialogue with some effort depending on who is speaking the lines and if there is other noise like music, etc. I can understand news radio stations nearly perfectly, and most commercials
  17. In some respects better than porn. Those nice bakery type women have to get busy at some point …
