There's always nutjobs with their visions of Armageddon Also it may be a splinter group, granted the scale of this attack makes that unlikely. For example there's even elements of the IRA who never accepted the Good Friday Agreement and continue to make attacks in Northern Ireland to this day

I don't think Israel at least would go that far. Much of Israels national identity is based around its conflict with Palestine. If there is no conflict with Palestine then theres a danger of losing that identity.

Hyde just doesn’t seem to be pushing the right buttons I this series. It’s a shame because this team has a lot of fight.

If we can boot Montgomery by the middle of the 4th I think we have a shot. But Rangers probably score 3 or 4 at least against our bullpen so we’d have to plate 8+ to win

Yeah they're called investments. With even $10 million, a 5% ROI per year (current yield for one year US T-bills) is $500k/year.

Mateo would have been useful as a pinch runner but swapping out Westburg for O'Hearn early forced him to put him in the field. I also think he pulled Bradish too early. I mean he had 9 Ks in 4 2/3. And what happened with that Henderson steal is being debated fairly heavily on OH. It was supposedly a hit and run but Hicks didin't swing because the ball was well out of the zone - hence the "miscommunication" line that Hyde was selling. OTOH allowing Santander to swing away was undermanaging, but it was pretty understandable given the situation.

I don't ever recall any team ever doing full roster teardown in a single year. Even if you wanted to, it is impractical to cut/trade everyone because of cap hits. You can turn over the roster completely in maybe three years.

I hope this is like 2014. On paper, the Rangers are really good, with established stars with playoff experience. Like Detroit with Scherzer, Verlander and Price pitching vs. Tillman, Wei-Yen Chen, and Bud Norris. Not to mention Detroit had Melky Cabrera, Ian Kinsler, JD Martinez, Victor Martinez and Torii Hunter. OTOH we had what, maybe Adam Jones, Chris Davis and Matt Wieters? (Machado got hurt right before the playoffs. (Edit: No Chris Davis due to PEDS, and Wieters was hurt early that year, but we did have Nelson Cruz and JJ Hardy) And we swept them, partially because their bullpen sucked (thank you Joba Chamberlin), our starters stepped up, and we were able to do enough damage to their starters.

Its crazy how some teams like the Tampa Bay Rays and even LA Dodgers, still have playoff tickets available, but the Os sold out in like 10 minutes
