  1. Hell yeah I'm patting myself in the back. I post here and there but during the week there is only so much you can repeat the same arguments. Besides, everytime I do post I keep getting told how wrong I am and TH is gonna get crushed cause he's not a NFL QB. So yup, I will take my Victory lap and continue to do so. Because there are STILL people that are posting about a draft pick (although I have also pointed out that in last 12 years we have had the 2nd most top 5 picks in the league) and still arguing that we are winning in spite of TH, ignoring how he makes the team better.
  2. After the 1st eagles game I said our OL was not good, but Wentz made them worse and once TH started everyone would be curious how the OL looked better (not good, but better) and gave up less sacks. I was laughed at. After the bears game I said TH would start and the entire team would play better. I was told I didn't know football. After the colts victory I was told we would.now see TH in all his glory and get crushed by the Vikes and blown out by the eagles because TH is not a good QB. I said his talent is avg at best, but he has "IT". The players see it and the team is better with him. I was told that the players are saying that to try to build up a avg player. TH is our QB. Not long term. But this year, we are simply a better team that plays at it's top game with TH as QB. Keep TH as the starter and we will make the playoffs.
  3. RIP #65!. Dave Butz was one of my first football stars I loved. Remember the famous story about him weighing his head after being told he had a huge head?
  4. Yeah. I mean I am hoping for 1 win next two weeks and not get blown out. Eagles and viks are a combined 14-1 so its not like losing to one of them (or even both) means we are no good team. It means we lost to 2 really good teams. Behind Wentz we lost to the lions. In my mind, this idea that somehow we really are better of stinking for years, get top draft picks then somehow winning 14 games is not realistic. We have had the 2nd most top 5 draft pics in the NFL the last 12 years. We have to crawl (beat the bad teams) then walk (beat the bad and avg teams) before we can run (beat everyone). With Wentz we were still rolling over and getting stuck on our back
  5. Could you grandmother go 7-3 Like TH has done over his last 10 starts? TH will never be a elite QB or A HOF. I think he is a good QB that somehow wins games. And i'll take that for this year!
  6. That game was devastating and I couldn't understand it..... Until I got covid and realized how EXHAUSTED I was even 2 weeks later. Half the team was playing after having Covid less then 2 weeks ealier. Explained a lot more. But TODAY -TH is 7-3 over his last 10 games and anyone who is watching can not deny that the team plays better under TH.
  7. Dude - Even Jon Allen and Terry have PUBLICLY said they are Rallying around TH! They themselves credit TH with having "IT" (Allens words, not mine) that make everyone want to fight a bit harder.
  8. We are half way through the season, ona 3 game winning streak, tied for a wild card spot. Anyone that is concerned about the draft needs to shutt up. As I've said all week, we are tied for the 2nd most top 5 picks in the NFL since 2010. We need to try to win and create a culture of winning. TH has it. Not the talent of a top QB but still the magic. He is my QB rest of year and, BTW, is 7-3 in his last 10 starts.
  9. I agree with you. Im not even arguing against anything you say. I think having a top draft pick gives you a better chance of drafting a QB (Although I draw the line at rooting to lose. Not that you are or doing that -but earlier in the thread I shows that that in last 12 yeasr Washington is tied for 2nd most top 5 draft picks and it didn't help us land a QB). I guess my point is that yes- While a higher draft picks improves your odds of getting a QB you can build around, You can still do it with a QB from a later round or FA. Its harder -but not so rare that it doesn't happen often. In fact - I would venture a guess that EVERY year there is at least ONE QB who is drafted after the 1st round that has a much better career then a QB that is drafted in the 1st round.
  10. This is what I got. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_starting_quarterbacks_in_the_National_Football_League But look - 32 teams. 9 starting a QB taken in top 5 4 more taken top 10 5 more taken in 1st round 14 taken after 1st round (or not drafted). (Someone could check my numbers). This is just a snap shot on who is starting this week. But my math - 18 taken 1st round, 14 taken non 1st round.
  11. Is it? Dak Prescott, Derek Carr, Russell Wilson, Jimmy G (Although I know they are trying to get rid of him), Kirk Cousins and of course Tom Brady - all after 1st round. I dont think its common, but I wouldn't say its all that rare either.
  12. I'll be honest. Regardless of how many games he starts -I just one day want to find someone who looks at me like Jonathan Allen looks at Taylor Heinicke
  13. Yes. Keep reading my posts. In the last 10 years only 1 NFC east team has picked a QB in the top 5. That pick was Carson Wentz My point - This team *Prob needs a long term QB (* Im not sure Sam Howell can't be that guy.). But the conversation basically went to "does winning hurt our chances to find a long term QB" Throw in that having a one of the most top 5 picks over the last 12 years has not landed us a long term QB, that none of the current NFC east teams have a top 5 drafted QB starting (Can anyone tell me out of the top 32 NFL qb's today, how many were drafted in the top 5? I don't know but someone prob does), and that the last 2 times we have picked a QB in the top 5 it has hurt us, my argument stands that based on history, with 10 games left, the only thing we should be trying to do is WIN.
  14. Math is hard. (I corrected my 1st post. IT was 4. Not 5)
  15. Again - 4 picks in top 5 (Top 5 is high right?) over last 12 years. Most in NFC east and I would guess on the top side of ALL NFL teams. Try not to skim my posts. Read em
  16. 4 since 2010. More then any other NFC East team. Yet somehow they all got better. AND - NONE of them are playing a QB that was drafted in top 5. Daniel Jones is the only one drafted in the 1st round! Im not saying a high draft pick wouldn't help. Of course it would. But to claim that other teams all stink enough to get that draft pick and we never do is just not real. I only looked at NFC east teams but Im guessing that 4 top 5 picks in 12 years is more then most teams.
  17. Wiffed one 1? Patrick Ramsey, Haskins, RG3, Jason Campbell all 1st Round QB picks. In the last 30 years we have had 10 top 5 draft picks. TEN!! 1/3rd of ALL our drafts over last 30 years. 5 in the last 12 years!! ALMOST HALF!! How many years should we root to lose to get a higher draft pick? You know what else you need to build a good team besides high draft picks? FA's to stay and to come to your team. They tend to not want to do that unless 1 -You pay over market or 2- They think they can win with you. Winning as much as possible helps that. Look - If there are 5 or 6 games left and we are sitting at 4-7 I will probably agree with you. But there are 10 games left. We are 1 game out of he wild card, on a 2 game win streak. HELL YEAH Im gonna root for us to win!! To add -Number of top 5 draft picks in the last 12 years Washington - 4 Eagles -2 (And one of those is Wentz) Cowboys - 1 Giants - 3 If Getting a top 5 draft pick is the secret to long term success -We should be winning the NFC east every year.
  18. TH only got sacked once for like minus 3 yards (going from memory so may be wrong). so doesn't really matter. BUT Im gonna confuse the HELL out of you. NFL removes sack yards from team passing yards but NOT from the QB. Meaning yesterdays stats has TH throwing for 201 yards but the commanders throwing for a total of 198 yards! (I just learned this by googling to see if I was correct). https://www.espn.com/nfl/matchup?gameId=401437798
  19. Thats not correct. Sack yards is removed from passing totals. Its how Wentz had minus passing yards in a few first halves this year.
  20. I measure success by how they looked overall. The entire team looked better today. The Ol is not good. But they are not as bad as Wentz made them look.
  21. 3 weeks ago I posted that our Oline, whole not good, was not as bad as wentz made it look. I got ridiculed. I stated (and will find it) that sooner or later TH would play and everyone will say "He's not that good but the Oline played better" Bottom line. The Team plays better under TH and while Wetnz makes the O-line look worse then they are, TH makes them better then they are. We should have stuck with TH, resigned flowers and Collins and signed Sherrif Would be at least 4-2 right now.
  22. But plenty of time. He could do what every other NFL QB does and start moving up. Esp that 2nd down one. He could start moving up as he had 10 yards. The receivers could start slidding to back of end zone and force the LB to either move up to stop Wentz (where someone should then be open in back of end zone) or stay with the receivers leaving a clear path to End zone. The protection was strong. The rush throw into traffic on all 3 plays was Wentz I would kill for playoffs 2 out of 4 years in any 4 year period right now.
  23. "Can't blame Wentz with this OL" is the most overused line. The OL is not good. But look at this screen shots. He had all the time in the world on the last few plays and rushed to throw into tight coverage.
