  1. I think calling the Forrest/Silva fight a fix or saying Forrest just wanted a paycheck is taking it a bit too far. He was rocked pretty damn good twice before the last punch. Dude was damn near out on his feet. Sure he took more shots from Bonner and others but none with the precision of Silva. Honestly I think Forrest was beat mentally before he ever stepped into the ring, he looked scared to death of Silva. As for P4P he's made a case but the only people annointing him that title is the UFC and they have been for two years now. If I have to hear Joe Rogan whine about him being P4P the best fighter in the world again I think I'm going to puke.
  2. True, but Dana shouldn't have been so pig headed and made the deal happen before. Its not about money with Fedor, dude just wants to fight to include Sambo. Let the dude fight Sambo.
  3. No, I'm not an MMA idiot. I understand technique and how point are scored. Belcher was more active and landed more punches that did more damage. Takedowns are important but outside the second round the few takedowns Akiyama had he did no damage, no sub attempts or anything to give him the round. He took Alan down in the third and did nothing not to mention the takedown was towards the end of the round and Belcher got back up. First round was close but Belcher still did more damage with huge leg kicks and kicks to the body while landing more strikes. I just don't see how you can score a couple "lay and prays" over consistent strikes and kicks that kept Akiyama rocked the entire fight. Irregardless, Aikyama is another Japanese fighter who didn't live up to the hype.
  4. I was beginning to think I watched a different fight than most here on ES, glad you and doublestroke saw the same fight as me.
  5. Glad I'm not the only one who saw it that way. I would say he was robbed by the simple fact that one judge scored it 30/27 against him. Who in their right mind could watch that fight and give all three rounds to Akiyama? That should easily show how skewed the judging was.
  6. I must have watched a different fight. Except for the second round Belcher controlled the fight and did twice the damage as Akiyama. Not to mention the fact he inflicted no damage once he got Belcher on the ground. I admit the fight was close but no way did Akiyama win that fight. Maybe I was wearing rose colored glasses because my wife is friends with his wife and I really wanted him to win but I rewatched and still think Belcher dominated the fight in striking, leg kicks and kicks in general. Akiyama needed to do way more damage than he did once he took Belcher down but just didn't pull it off.
  7. Belcher was robbed and I a can't believe one of the judges actually scored it 30/27 for the other guy. Terrible decision. Here's my take for the rest of the main card. Hell freaking yea Hendo, STFU Bisping. I bet his toes are still curled after that brutal knock out. The second punch had all of Hendo's weight behind it. Bisping finally fought someone who can actually fight and was exposed. GSP is a freaking beast. How anyone can question his MMA skills is beyone me. Hands down the most well rounded fighter in the game. Not only did he beat the bigger guy, he dominated him for 5 straight rounds. Brock is the biggest douche bag in MMA. I hate this dude more than Tim Silvia. Win with grace ass hole and stop trying to turn the UFC into the WWE. I can't wait until Fedor kicks his head off. Wish I would have seen Dolloway get his ass kicked, can't stand him either.
  8. No way Serra beat Hughes. Serra scored the knockdown in the first and did nothing else. Hughes completely controlled the fight and I'm not even sure Serra really caught him in the first with anything that really hurt him. Anyway, got to go to the fight again tonight; great energy and the crowd was really into it. Bunch of Canadians there tonight. The fights not televised were Kristoph against a Braziallian guy that he destroyed. I'm pretty drunk so I can't remember all the names off the top of my head and I'm too lazy to look them up. The kid from last seasons TUF who passed out got blasted; he went limp and Yves stopped but just as he did the kid came around so that's why everyone was booing Yves during the PPV. Machida is so freaking vicious. He's so patient and looks slow and methodical until it's time to pounce then he's lightening freaking fast. To this day I've never seen the guy take a hard shot. He has to be the hardest guy to hit, ever, in the UFC. What a freaking fight. I'm so glad to see Rashad get his ****y ass knocked out. I like Rashad but he was getting a little too big for his britches. Gotta love free UFC tickets!
  9. Sebowski, cutting weight is part of the game, some walk around closer to the weight than others. Penn walks around looking dumpy no matter what weight he's at and St Pierre goes around looking ripped even at 185lbs. If you want to shoot off your mouth and talk **** then hit the weights, train to beat your opponent and don't take five day trips to the beach. This happens all the time even within the weight class, some cut less than others. It's really not that big of deal, why wouldn't GSP use his weight and more importantly his strength to his advantage? I still don't see how you can watch GSP over the last two years and not see how far he's come, how far he's going and how much upside this guy has. He's young, strong and has arguably the best work eithic in MMA. He trains with the best and never goes anything less than %100. He's easily top 3 P4P, no matter how you slice or dice it.
  10. P4P has nothing to do with weight, hence the term. GSP is dominating one of the deepest divisions in the UFC right now. He out wrestled two of the best wrestlers in the cage, Serra is a BJJ beast who couldn't beat him and he just dominated the crown jewel of the UFC last night. I seriously don't get your arguement, what is Lesnar going to do if he goes on a tear? Go fight a gorilla to be the smaller guy? The term P4P was created as a "what if". Matching skill set for skill set where everyone weighs the same who would win or who is the best. Hasn't nothing to do with the actual weight of the person. IMO Spider is still a bit of an unknown. He can obviously fight but no one has tested him so that makes you wonder if he's that good or is the competition just not good enough. Henderson is a legend and Franklin ruled 185 for a long time but neither of them are as complete of a fighter as Silva. I don't know how true it is but I've heard rumors that the UFC has tried to schedule Silva another fight at 205 but he keeps turning them down. Is he scared? I want to see how much heart he has before crowning him the best P4P in the world.
  11. IMO GSP cataupluted past Spider with that peformance. First of all Spider has only fought two top tier fighters in Franklin and Hendo, that's it. GSP crushed two of the best wrestlers in MMA and destroyed the darling of the UFC last night in BJ Penn. Maybe Dana will finally take Baby J's junk out of his mouth. I will say this though, BJ has one hell of a chin. Boys and girls learn a lesson from this, don't talk so much **** if you can't at least back it up. Who's a biatch now BJ, who's the biatch? Machida also put on one hell of a dominant performance. Did he even get hit the entire match? They've awaken the Dragon! I honestly don't see him getting beat @ 205 with the current crop of fighters. Imagine Fedor dropping 25lbs, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
  12. Amen brother, you speak the truth. :notworthy
  13. Oh crap, you're right that was Varner. What a freaking douche. I'm even more convinced now that the knee didn't even phase him. You can see from the replay that it barely even moved his head. What a joke. Hell of a way to win/lose a belt. I want Cerrone in the UFC!
  14. x3, Dude was gassed and Cerrone was coming on. Varner got scared and thought at any moment Cerrone was going to take his ass out. Grazed, I can't see, I'm sorry, I'm sorry; all part of the act. Dude should be banned from MMA. I also had the fight 2 to 2, right down the middle and the 5th would have decided it and Cerrone was winning it. I think he would have stolen it if it would have went to the end but the judges are idiots IMO. Whatever, Varner is a punk.
  15. That's the one, freaking love that song! I get so ****ing pumped listening to that song. It's off to limewire!
  16. Need help MMA heads. Rich Franklin I think, or maybe it was Griffin; anyway, one of them had some badass Celtic metal band playing when they came to the Octagon. Anyone know who it was or what the song is? I've got to find that song for my Zune, **** had me pumped.
  17. That's how much they have to pay people just to get into the ring with him.
  18. Winning on points but I don't think he ever phased him. I still think he was playing possum waiting for AA to get ****y leaving an opening? Could Mir or Lesnar beat this guy? We'll probably never know.
  19. Was Fedor even hurt or was he playing possum to lure Andre in? That was a nasty knockout! I know Andre's chin isn't that great but damn!
  20. Can somebody post the results so far? I'm too cheap to buy the PPV
  21. I concur :applause: If Lesnar, as much as I hate the hype, keeps getting better he's going to be unstoppable. If so, he's going to run into the same problem as Silva, the Roy Jones affect. He can't keep beating up the same guys over and over again and Dana is too much of a douche to get Fedor in the UFC so you'll probably never see him fight the best. However, and I probably wouldn't bet on it; I think Brock wants to fight the best no matter what. He already walked away from the $$ in the WWE and I wouldn't be suprised to see him walk away from the UFC when his contract is up for a shot to fight Fedor if that's what it took to fight the best. Just saying.
  22. I heard Rampage is getting a shot at the belt again. Can anyone confirm this for me? If so, how the hell does he get a crack at the title before Machida? I'm beginning to wonder if it's the boring fights keeping him from getting his shot or if it's the top 205 guys are afraid to fight him.
  23. I can't remember GSP laying in praying since that fight, can anyone else? Dude has been downright explosive. What turned me was the way he totally dominated Matt Hughes doing what Matt Hughes does best, wrestle. It was the one part of GSP's game that I thought was the weakest, not anymore. That's what has impressed me the most about GSP and what I'm talking about when I say his game keeps evolving; if he has a hole in his game he fixes it. So, when an opponent comes into the ring thinking "all I have to do is X, Y and Z" well guess what, GSP has damn near perfected that since the last fight so good luck with that. I think GSP comes into the ring one of the most well prepared fighters in the game. Most fighters have their style and they won't deviate from that whatsoever. Being such a well rounded fighter allows GSP to bring a counter for just about any style to the ring and he's proven that. Speaking of preparation, I don't think he took Serra seriously and expected him to come in and try to take it to the ground. I know he as well as most of the MMA world was suprised by that knockout.
