  1. RIP. Me and the family had a horrible game day experience. Now I remember why I haven't been back since 2008. Son-in-law's first NFL game. Had to sit in a broken seat. The product on the field and off the field is pathetic. As long as we have the same idiot owning the team, nothing will ever change. I'm taking a long, long break. Probably until the NFL rescues this dumpster fire. Take care.
  2. I get more nervous when I see the team give up draft picks than handing out big paychecks. Granted, they have missed on quite a few picks. I keep hoping that the FO breaks that trend. They're not at the Ravens/Steelers level of course. But the team has come a long way since the Cerrato days.
  3. You missed my point and/or my previous post. Kinda hard to expect a lot from a QB if none of his receiving targets would start for another NFL team.
  4. McLaurin tweaked his hamstring. If he doesn't go, Carter is your #1 receiver. Let that sink in.
  5. Any of the three QBs on the team need the receiving weapons that we all thought would be present at the beginning of the season. 1) McLaurin 2) Thomas 3) Samuels 4) Brown 5) Humphries Three out of five easily could start for most NFL team. Now, TH has the following: 1) McLaurin 2) Carter 3) Humphries (although it's close betw him and Carter) 4) RSJ 5) Milne Only one out of these five are starting for another NFL teams. Running game should be more helpful but Gibson needs to be on a pitch count with the stress fracture. And they're not very good up the middle which is why they try to get out on the edge. The OLine without Sherff (and now Cosmi) is not bad on pass pro but they're not knocking people off the ball. Add in the pressure that any QB would feel to keep pace with the opposing offense and any QB that has any guts at all is going to make some mistakes. Honestly, as the offense is now I don't know how you can evaluate any of the QBs. McLaurin is the only weapon you don't have to scheme to get open. Double him and it's a wrap.
  6. You almost had a like from me until you dropped the Anime reference. I have five kids and the first three were girls. I'm still traumatized over the nonstop barrage of sailor moon episodes on road trips. Oh how many times I dreamed of smashing my head into the windshield!!! Yeah, like people got to block and we ain't got no pro bowlers on this team. Is that ODU Aggie in the bushes with an empty jug of peanut oil?
  7. They're certainly trying to wag the dog. Still, I'll bring my Sean Taylor 21 towel Sunday. The most important number to retire is Mr. Redskin himself. Darrell Green #28. Best DB ever and my favorite Redskin. A great person to talk to as well.
  8. I do love his competitiveness. I'll be at the game this weekend. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a really good game. I'm glad he's salty about his performance. That's how winners are wired. I fully expect him to have a very good game. Taylor Heinicke Presser: I’m still pissed off about the Saints game - Hogs Haven
  9. I can see that. The back end has been horrible. Tampa laid out the blueprint last year; quick passing game. Chargers prepped for it during preseason. Everyone else has been copying the same strategy pretty much. Nothing changes because the personnel doesn't changed.
  10. My preference would be to see the WFT build their team the way the 49ers, Cards, Rams, and Bills have built. Build a solid team first. Then add your QB. If you get a QB in the draft then great. If you have to trade draft capitol to get your QB then you at least bring that QB in with an opportunity to compete for a Super Bowl. The ghost of Sammy Baugh couldn't lead the WFT as currently constructed to a Super Bowl. Faced with a tougher schedule., the WFT looks very mediocre.
  11. Not to mention Rodgers is a class A narcissist who only cares about himself. He will pout if he doesn't get exactly what he wants. As a former coach, no way in hell. The only player FA I'd trade for would be Wilson but I wouldn't give more than one 1st rounder. This team has too many holes. If you bring Wilson in without talent surrounding him then where does that leave the WFT in a couple of years? We've been down that road and it set us back. My first choice would be to build a great team and THEN go get your franchise QB.
  12. Heinicke gives us something at least to cheer for this season. Teams could do a whole lot worse for a backup QB that doesn't need a lot of reps in practice. But I think most Heinicke fans see him more as Mr. Rightnow rather than Mr. Right. I'd say yes to keeping TH as QB next year if the only other options are Fitz, Kyle Allen, Mariota, Minshew, or Dalton. Trubisky is somewhere between Josh Rosen and Blaine Gabbert so no on any of those options.
  13. I think what most of us are worried about is Fitz's lack of mobility. He wasn't looking very mobile in preseason and with the injury you'd imagine it won't be any better. The Oline didn't magically start blocking better for Heinicke. Defenses are scared of TH scrambling. And they should be. So they're not teeing off with the pass rush. I like Fitz but I believe he'd get killed back there. It is what it is this year. Commit to pounding the ball and shorten the game. They don't have the weapons they thought they would have. I was excited about all the options for skills players but they're the walking dead now. All we have is McLaurin and Gibson/McKissic. That's really all you can count on. Just hope for some Heinickesque type moments for brief glimpses of sunshine in what will probably be a very gloomy forecast for the rest of the season.
  14. I'd pass on Corral. Kiffin knows NFL concepts but he has Corral running a lot of RPO. He also has some really good skills players there. Good college player. Doesn't seem like an upgrade over any QB on the roster now.
  15. God forbid they release him now. After all, he might give away their league leading defensive strategy and tactics!
  16. In fairness, it's not like the defense had just been in a similar situation the week prior vs ATL and Matt Ryan on the last play of the game. Oh wait...
  17. Chemistry. A good defense is 11 players working together as one. There always seems to be one guy out of position and in the NFL that can and often means a house call. Being a good defense is not about having a team full of number 1 draft picks. They just have to know and trust one another. That's not happening now. In hindsight, it was a mistake to keep Collins. It was a mistake to let Darby go and dump a lot of $ on WJ III. He's a square peg in a round hole. Essentially, they tried to fix what wasn't broken. Yes, TB exposed them with the quick game. If you take the same players that trusted one another they would be able to adjust. The trust and teamwork was there. Not anymore.
  18. What's to be coached? I mean, you can go to any local field where kids are playing football and after the game see groups of kids of mixed teams (usually kids that just played a game against one another) playing five hundred. Any kid that has ever played football has been training for the jump ball scenario all their lives! Let me guess? Landon Collins played hockey as a kid? SMH
  19. Just go BPA. This team needs help everywhere! Oline (need to replace Sherff who looks to be injury prone and would be good to get a franchise LT - but don't reach for one. Leno is fine) Need a receiving threat opposite McLaurin; one who can stay healthy! Avoid this year's crop of QBs! Maybe a camp arm late in the draft. Definitely need a Free Safety that can cover sideline to sideline. LBs, DBs. RB as insurance in case Gibson turns out to be injury prone. Ideally, I'd like to see the FO trade down for draft picks in 2023. Cut bait on overpaid free agents. Save $ to resign some of your DLine. But yeah, the offense can't keep bailing this team out anymore. You only have 2 threats. McLaurin and Gibson/McKissic. DC's are going to feast on us.
  20. It's literally the equivalent of a coach expecting Steph Curry to take Lebron James down on the block. If the scheme is to put anyone but Curl or Jamin Davis on Kamara then the problem is with your thinking. I'll just be blunt here.
  21. I'm pretty much with you and @skinsfan_1215 Honestly, the only reason I play Fantasy Football is because our team sucks so bad. I need something to scratch the football itch. (The NFL is still king of all sports - combined) At least I get to watch some good performances. My family and I picked the KC game because based on previous experience we anticipated that the WFT would sink back to mediocrity. We've seen this pattern for about 21 years now. At least we'll get to watch one team play at an NFL level. We'll still cheer for the WFT of course but we fully expect to be outnumbered.
  22. Thanks @Skinsinparadise Collins should be firetruck red. They were nice to him. His tackles weren't game changing. Not for someone at his salary. Two times each Sweat and Chase dropped in coverage. For the love of God why?!?!? When has that ever worked out well for our defense? How many times have we seen them cover anything but grass? If they're tired then get in a sub. But stop dropping them in coverage. It's the dumbest thing. It would be like the Saints having Kamara playing as a blocking TE because nobody would expect it!
  23. Over and over and over for years I have been complaining about this concept. Why are you playing man on this?!?! All you have to do is triangle. Two back and one up or one up on best receiver and two back. Then from sideline first guy takes up or waits for anything breaking out. Second takes next route and matches up; if short flat then take it if outside route is clearing up. Or sit on anything breaking in or carry up the seam. Third takes anything breaking in. If two inside breaking routes then follow. It's not rocket science; it's a matchup zone in basketball. It's a "banjo" call that teams can handle in high school. Why do we keep expecting defenders to fight thru their own players?!?!? It never works out well for us. We always end up giving an easy score. Offenses are giving us the same concepts out of different looks and we're too dumb to adjust and recognize it. The offense is on life support. Don't expect any more late game heroics. Basically, a DC has to double up on McLaurin (unless you have Lattimore). Neutralize Gibson/McKissic and it's a wrap. There's nobody else that scares the defense. Sure, Humphries, Carter, and Milne will get open from time to time but they have to be schemed to get open. They won't be making house calls when they do get the ball so who cares? They're not keeping a DC up late at night. The only manbeater we have as a receiver is McLaurin; usually. Turner needs to return to last year's strategy. Run the ball, stay ahead of the sticks, and keep everything 3rd and short. Hope that TH can keep the chains moving (with his legs if need be) and keep the defense off the field. Seasonal aspirations are now trashed. I'd say 7 and 10 would be considered pretty good with the schedule ahead of them right now. That's even optimistic because I don't see five more wins on the schedule. Time for a fire sale on overpaid vets. I'd be trading Collins, WJ III and I'd shut down Samuels for the year. Tell him to get surgery or something. Bring up all the youth you can. Even Reyes. Whoever gets the job done gets to be on the field. Stop treating vets like they've earned something.
