It was so horrible and he’s undersized too. “His performance on the field for the Panthers was much better than the product he put on the field for the Pro Day. Ford posted a 4.90 40-yard dash, 29-inch vertical jump, 9-foot-2 broad jump, 4.53 shuttle run and a 7.65 three-cone. Those athletic testing numbers could make him undraftable and teams are going to have a lot of questions about what he spent his time doing when he opted out.”

I was listening to a draft podcast and they had some draft analysts on to give their take on some of the top OT Here’s what the analysts thought: Guy #1: Darrisaw (comp to Trent Williams, started as a freshmen, played hurt with foot/ankle during freshmen year showing toughness, very good run blocker in VT zone with athleticism to be great pass blocker) Eichenberg (very technically sound, very solid player but may struggle against speed rushers) Penei Sewell (Physical freak, great upside, bad footwork, doesn’t agree with the hype based on the film) Slater and AVT evaluated as Guards Guy #2 Penei Sewell Slater Eichenberg Darrisaw (motor hot and cold, questioned toughness, got worked during Liberty game by inferior players)

I think you’re right. While I personally like Collins better and think he has more upside because of his natural size, JOK might be a perfect fit and immediately start at Nickel. He could stay there or eventually take over at WLB.

I’m a big fan of Collins and JOK. I think the pick will be OT or one of them. This is a really interesting breakdown of how JOK was used in college, just skip the beginning it’s an ad. https://youtu.be/xcoKhKZvTp8

If Jon Allen rejects a LTD offer now, yes. To be great you have to make sacrifices and plan strategically.

I can take the Seahawks.

List of ideal outcomes in order: 1. Sign Scherrf to 4-5 year deal for 14 mil a year spreading out guaranteed money so his cap hit is more like 10 mil a year. (good) 2. If he won’t sign for that, let him go (ok) 3. Sign him for 18 mil for 1 year, costing 18 mil on the cap and then lose him to FA (very bad)
-
He would be a moron to sign any long term deal for less than 18 in first year and at least 30 plus guaranteed. We should have offered 15 mil a year and let him go to FA if he wouldn’t take a deal that made him the highest paid G. This is insane. Obviously hoping for a LTD before July but it’s just wishful thinking. Can we rescind the tag or can he just sign it and screw us over?

That story came directly from Mike Shanahan in an interview on the radio a few years ago. He said they wanted to bring him along slower, but RG3 wouldn’t accept that. Now, Mike is also a liar, but I do believe this story.
-
I would argue Kyle built a great offense around his skill set. As I recall, the problem was the injury and then RG3 and his father went to Dan and demanded they have him be a drop back QB because running him and the risk of injury was “unacceptable.”

The more I see and read about Trey Lance the less I like the idea of any sort of trade up. He just seems so risky and based so much on a projection. He’s played so little football, and the games he did play he didn’t pass all that much. The tools are phenomenal, and he seems like he’s a really hard worker, and he’s so young. But it just scares the hell out of me. One first rounder at 19? Sure, take a shot. But multiple picks to trade up into the top 10, when he really needs to sit initially, I’m just not on board.

Heinicke Hive: The LEGEND of Taylor Heinicke Thread

Yep, it is. And I don’t think we can say which way it will go based on the limited sample size. But I really think he plays like each player. -

Solid backup QB (which is what McCoy is, he just can’t stay healthy to be a starter) is pretty phenomenal with a UDFA we picked up for nothing. But for sure, I’d prefer Heinicke to be a good starting QB. -

I think he’s going to end up being somewhere between Colt McCoy and Jeff Garcia. And that’s fantastic for us. -
Sua had great tape at USC. Joe Barry recruited him when he coached there, and so he vouched for his character. Too bad Joe Barry is a ****ing moron, and didn’t find out from his sources at USC that he walked away from the team and quit. Then guess what he did here lol. Sean McVay was apparently really high on Doctson, and McC panicked and took him after trading down when Ryan Kelly (the player they desperately wanted, which they did a really poor job of keeping quiet) was snatched up by the Colts.

I think taking a QB every other year isn’t a bad idea when you don’t have a lot of clarity there. We need to sign a FA and/or draft someone this year. I bet we add 2 QBs and end up with something like (Allen, Heineke, mid round pick, Mariotta). Montez is likely cut or PS. The question is, where do you think Trask goes and is he worth it? I think he ends up going between the 2nd and 3rd round. I suspect he’s gone before our 2nd third round pick. It will be interesting to see how the team evaluates QBs. I would think they would prefer a QB with more running ability.

https://www.nfl.com/news/daniel-jeremiah-2021-nfl-mock-draft-2-0-saints-select-drew-brees-heir-apparent latest mock draft has Zaven Collins falling out of the first. Can anyone explain this one to me? What are his weaknesses that are making him not seen as a top 10 pick? I just don’t get it.

I’m all about criticizing Dan Snyder, who is awful, and the stuff with the cheerleaders was abhorrent (and possibly criminal) but this is a flat out ridiculous take. Pausing all aspects of game day entertainment, transforming the fan experience, rebrand etc. IS happening. Whoever recently was hired should decide whether to have cheerleaders, a band, pregame stuff, music, etc. based on trends and fan interest and that’s totally logical and clearly would have happened regardless of the lawsuit. Jason Wright doesn’t have to answer your question by eviscerating the team and his boss’ misconduct (that’s why they paid a settlement, so they don’t have to talk about it publicly). He can choose not to answer. Get the **** over it.
