  1. At my first job, a small company of less than 100 people, we got christmas bonuses a few years in a row. Small bonuses but it was nice and we were part of it. Then one year we didn't. We were told money was tight. Well sure enough, the owner comes rolling up in a brand new $75k+ truck (at the time that was absurdly expensive) and parks it right in front of the main entrance, DIRECTLY in front of the walkway to show off his new toy to everyone. It was a slap in the face to say the least.
  2. Reading it now. I think most of us here already see the signs.
  3. Yeah I agree. For Jordan I can't imagine how humiliating that must be, everyone in the league seeing the video and then being publicly exiled.
  4. I'm honestly wondering if that punch and getting knocked out changed his brain, such as decision-making, coordination, balance. Seriously, head injuries are no joke.
  5. Maybe. With the draft you control who you select. Free agency can be an even greater crapshoot due to other variables - offers from contending teams, front office upheavel, poor culture, current loser environment. I still look at drafting a QB with our first as a waste. It's all about opportunity cost. The available talent to fill the OL hole would then drop a round in quality.
  6. Count me as wanting to stick with Sam for the time being. Draft OL this offseason and fill holes, build up the offense. Then, if Sam is not the answer after another year, you have a stable OL/offense ready for a drafted QB to step in. QB is not the greatest need or biggest hole on offense (or defense) right now.
  7. Yeah I understand people live there, but that's like anywhere else. I guess I'm just baffled by the location versus where they are now, which is nearly dead-center of the entire DMV and all metro lines converging in that area. Maybe google earth is not updated then? Because all I am seeing is a couple shopping centers and a Target just south of Reagan. Hell, we have twice as much dead shopping center space in podunk St. Mary's/Pax River. We could build it here and make everyone take the green line instead of yellow/blue lol.
  8. Does anyone else think Potomac Yard is a bad location? I've driven through there a couple times but it's been a while. Looking at a map/google earth, even with proposed development, it will still be limited due to existing homes, neighborhoods and roads. It's essentially isolated with nothing around it. I'm just not seeing any long term advantages. Edit - honest question, am I wrong on this?
  9. I'm not very good with court and legal stuff. If the SC ruled in favor of Trump's immunity, what would be the ramifications? That a president would automatically become a dictator and not beholden to law if they so choose?
  10. Of those identified, I can see that. However there's a fuzzy line...lots of supporters inside. Contractor vets are the worst, mostly because they have more leeway to speak. Right now we have a contractor (a Navy vet), wears a bullet-proof vest under his shirt everyday, and carries a max-filled LL Bean backpack with him at all times. Oh, and his shirts say "ULTRA-MAGA" or other 2A/Trump things. The day after the Uvalde shooting he started using full blackout contacts. And we are in a closed off scif...I mean, no one is going to get him or us down there. Edit - added: and this is allowed because others silently support him and these actions.
  11. As a civvie working with active duty and gov vets, that is an incredibly small number, imo.
