Glad Maye will be a Patriot. I won't have to root against him. He's such a likable dude and he's gonna be a star if they can build properly around him.
I wanted Maye, and I live in New England. I'm pretty sure this was Dante's perception of hell.

RG3 still doing.... RG3 things:
If only our front office was able to be more thorough during the draft process. If they put in the proper effort and asked the right questions, they would've known how much RG3 loves dragon Ball z, and they would've known to steer clear. It would've saved us a lot of heartache. Can't win with a guy like that.

Does anyone know where I could find past mock draft results? I know we use the same thread and delete the old results off the first post and replace it with the current draft, but I didn't know if the old ones were archived somewhere. I searched ES GM's Mock Draft and only found the current year's results. Thank you!

We all know where this is heading: we take a QB at #2, and it's a roller coaster ride from the get go, but it's our pick at 222 overall Sam Hartman that leads our perennial playoff team and makes GMAP look like a genius.

I have been on team Maye since we secured #2, but I will feel good about whomever GMAP takes. He is privy to a lot more info, not to mention much more qualified than I am, so I trust his decision. I'm excited to have an answer in 4 days.
Another reason to like the DQ hire over Ben Johnson: I think his presence helps lessen the concern over JD and his mother's personality if that's the guy they want. DQ is a people person, and I am confident he would navigate JDs experience here successfully. Being a rookie coach, Ben Johnson could've let the personalities lead to drama / discord. I don't have those concerns with DQ in charge, unless JD is a world class prima Donna.

I honestly have no idea why the team is hiding their intentions. They control the draft right now. Caleb is going to Chicago. That is happening. Really no reason to keep people in suspense. Especially with Peters saying in the presser the other day that he doesnt see a situation where they would trade down. Unless they honestly have not decided yet. Which I find hard to believe with 4 days left.
It's smart for them to talk trade with other teams right up until the selection, even if GMAP is convinced you don't want to trade. One, you never know, maybe you get an offer that blows you away and you pull the trigger. Not likely, but possible. Second, and more applicable, it can be good to talk with the other FOs to see how they negotiate, what's the best offer you received, etc. Might help negotiations in future years if we hold this high of a pick again. Maybe you would be able to gather some Intel on their mindset that may help get a feel for how late 1st / day 2 may unfold, and lines of communication will already be open in case we want to trade up.
One thing is for sure: they could care less if fans are left in suspense, and rightfully so.

1 hour ago, PokerPacker said:With the 202nd pick of the draft, the Packers select:
Edefuan Ulofoshio, LB, Washington
He's a solid athlete at LB, putting up elite explosiveness numbers with a 39.5" vertical leap, and 10'8" broad jump, along with a great 4.56s 40-time. He's a little under-sized at only 6'0", though stocky build weighing in at 236 at that height. Decent 33" arms plus is leaping ability help to overcome his size disadvantage in coverage. Scouts don't seem to know what to make of him, as I've seen takes ranging from coverage-specialist with trouble in run support, to run-stopper who needs to work on his coverage skills.
From the film I've watched, I didn't see anything that stood out as a negative in coverage, and the numbers seem to support him as a coverage LB; his season-average QB rating when thrown to hasn't surpassed 57.1 since his freshman season. In run-support, he plays downhill. He'll choose a gap and burst through. He needs to work on picking his gaps, as he doesn't always choose correctly, but I'll take that over the countless LBs I've watched who just stand there watching the backfield and then the play blows by them before they ever get involved. Once he makes his way to the ball-carrier, he's a solid tackler and provides some thump while wrapping up with strong hands. He's effective at splitting gaps between blockers when blitzing the QB or pursuing a ball-carrier on screens and end-arounds. One thing that needs a lot of work is coming off blocks, however. Once a blocker gets hands on him, it's game over; he doesn't have much ability to get off a block; as such, he also tends to try to run around blockers rather than engaging, which can hurt in gap-control. I think Ulofoshio has the potential to grow into an every-down type linebacker, but to start, he'll compete for snaps as a nickelback where he can be effective in both coverage and blitzing the QB on occasion.Another late rounder I like. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go much earlier.

With the 204th pick the Buffalo Bills select Khristian Boyd, DT Northern Iowa
That was the other guy I was debating at 203. Good pick.
-
With the 203rd pick, the Broncos select Julian Pearl, OT, Illinois.
Overview
Pearl is still learning the position and appears to have room for physical growth, as well. The athletic pieces are in place, but he's lacking the functional upper-body strength to withstand NFL challenges, and that must be corrected before he's ready for any snaps. Pearl is an athletic move blocker capable of creating creases in space, but the pass protection needs a big upgrade for him to develop into an NFL swing tackle.
Strengths
- Long frame with potential to get bigger and stronger.
- Slides quickly in pass sets and operates with punch hands at the ready.
- Uses 7-foot-1 wingspan to stuff long-arm rush attempts.
- Plays with good lateral quickness and open-field agility.
- Keeps digging out down blocks with good foot chop.
Weaknesses
- Below-average play strength to press defenders out of his frame.
- Needs to bring his feet with his hands at the top of the rush to protect the arc.
- Anchor is likely to be an issue against NFL speed-to-power challenges.
- Starts to reach and grab when he fails to trust his technique.
- Must be careful not to overstride move blocks.

With the 136th pick, Broncos select Leonard Taylor III, DL, U of Miami
Overview
Feast-or-famine interior lineman who came into Miami as a highly touted recruit but leaves on the heels of a relatively disappointing junior season. Taylor's physical tools and athletic ability stand out, but his technique and fundamentals need work. A lack of body control sees him knocked off balance or to the ground too often. When he’s right with his hands and feet, he can beat blockers in front of him as his power and natural talent shine through. If he doesn’t win early with the rush, he probably won’t get home, but there is potential improvement in that department. Taylor’s tape has too many ups and downs, and he will need to find much better consistency to reach his potential.
Strengths
- Adequate first-step quickness for early penetration opportunities.
- Possesses upper-body strength to punch and separate from blockers.
- Plays with good scramble to work off block and find ball-carrier.
- Rushes with adequate leg drive coming forward.
- Effective use of swim move when allowed to rush from 3-technique.
Weaknesses
- Pops upright into the action with poor pad level.
- Needs to play with better hand technique at the point of attack.
- Footwork limits consistency through contact.
- Turns shoulders during take-ons and gets run out of his gap fit.
- Somewhat plodding on twists and close-outs to the quarterback.

With the 92nd pick, Bucs select G Zak Zinter, Michigan.
Probably a 2nd rounder before his injury. Recovery is reportedly going well. Fills a big need and will start when healthy. Bucs feel they got a discount on a great prospect.
Zinter enters the league with NFL size, toughness and technique. He is an average athlete in short spaces but is very capable of climbing to the second level with good angles and making hits on short pulls. He can be stood up and neutralized by two-gapping pluggers but is rarely beaten soundly. His pass protection will be average by NFL standards. Active rushers will give him more issues than you might like. Zinter’s draft stock might be hindered by the recovery from his injury, but the tape suggests he’s a starter on the next level.

With the 89th pick, Bucs select WR Johnny Wilson, Florida St.
Bucs like the traits, and are hoping the inability to separate in 2023 was due to injury and that he can bounce back. Feel he has a high ceiling and don't think a switch to TE is necessary. Much needed youth to wr room with an aging mike Evans and Godwin racking up some miles too.
Johnny Wilson has a rare combination of size, quickness, and athleticism that makes him a mismatch for most defenders. ”
Strengths:
-
Great catch radius
-
Contested-catch ability (red-zone threat)
-
Positional versatility (alignment versatile)
-
Short-area quickness to separate
Concerns:
-
Ability to create separation on vertical routes
-
Beat press against bigger stronger corners
-
Role-specific
