  1. Love the Lucas re-signing.  He can be the placeholder as a rookie comes along, or maybe this allows us to sign DJ humphries and we can be a little more patient with his recovery knowing Lucas can hold down the fort.

He’s on a 1 year deal. He’ll probably ball out this year, sign a big contract for 5 year deal and then go back to being Chase. He is a business man first, after all.

I don't know man, he had a short stint in a PERFECT situation in SF, and he couldn't help but show his true colors.  I don't think he can fool anyone for too long.

Hard to say right? Coming off of a major injury, 4th option behind Lamb, Cooks and the TE's.......? Can he be better in the 2nd year after his knee injury? Bring him in and see what he's got, cut him if he's washed?

In the 11 regular-season games after the bye, five Cowboys teammates — the aforementioned four plus wide receiver Jalen Tolbert — outnumbered Gallup’s 25 targets.

maybe take a flier on him at the right price, but I hope we can add someone more inspiring than him.

Gallup would be a nice get for us....physical guy. If he's any good, which I think he is, DQ will scoop him up.

Played every game last year, and only had 34-418. What happened?  All I know about him is in fantasy he is often mentioned as a late round sleeper but is rarely worth the roster spot.

  5. I don't really understand the narrative that because Howell and Maye are friends and went to unc together, that means they couldn't be in the same QB room.  They are grown men.  They make millions in the NFL.  If I was going to lose my job like Howell was, I'd rather lose it to a friend than a stranger.   I think Howell would've had his back and they would've had a positive working relationship bc of the prior friendship.

I think they made this trade bc they liked the return for a QB they didn't think made sense for them moving forward.  I doubt the friendship with maye had anything to do with it.

  6. Sounds like the equivalent of a 3rd round pick based off the draft pick value chart on draftek

    Moving up from 102 to 78 = +108 pts

    Moving up from 179 to 152 = +10.8 pts

    118.8 pts = 95/96th pick in late 3rd round

Not a bad return.  But I still think we should've had him back up the rookie instead of Mariota.  But not losing sleep over it.

  7. Stephon Gilmore makes too much sense right now.

They structured the contracts so they would have more cap space this season.  They have about 12-14 roster spots to fill, and 9 draft picks, so there are still a couple decent sized cap hits coming.  CB is a big need.  Gilmore is a veteran who has had a lot of success in the league and has played in DQs system.

1 year, 7 mil.  Continue the theme of veterans on 1 year deals.  Draft a young promising CB to add to BSJ and EF.

Concerned about the ideal fit, I feel like Wagner and Luvu overlap... but having too much talent is a good problem to have.

    Seriously upgraded the LB corps.

Luvu is more versatile.  They will often be on the field at the same time.

Rivera had 4 years to stock the roster. What an indictment of his ability to acquire talent....

Peters acquired more talent in 30 hours than Rivera did in 4 years.  And Peters didn't mortgage the future to do it either.

Is there a reason why we haven't been linked to Danielle Hunter of the Vikings?

They chose the cost efficient strategy versus the monster deal.  I like it.  I'd rather have Armstrong, Fowler, and Ferrell, than hunter and two scrubs.

Hey, we went from having 4 1st round picks on the DL to 4 1st round picks on the DL.

And we basically traded Young and Sweat for Fowler, Ferrell and Armstrong + a 2nd and 3rd round picks.

And much lower cap numbers in 24 and beyond.  I love it.

Also love how they went with those 3 DEs at modest $ instead of a monster deal to Hunter.  The AAV of our 3 will probably be close to AAV for hunter alone.  It's probably in the neighborhood of Greenard alone too.

And our 3 have all played for teams with our brain trust, so they know fit, character etc first hand.

Hard not to like what's happened the last 2 days.

    What's a "Scoota Harris"?

This is a family friendly forum I can't get into specifics.  Look it up on urban dictionary.  Just make sure no kids are around and you aren't using your work device.

I think Ekeler could be done.  He was really bad last year.

He won't need to be a workhorse for us.  B Rob and c rod can get the tough yards between the tackles.  Ekeler can be our rich mans mckissic, and JD was great for us.  At that price, it's hard to not like that move.  If anything, the defense will have to account for him on every play and he can line up all over the place.  And I bet we see some more juice from him with less wear this season.
