    More stuff to consider that probably means nothing but hell maybe it does lol: ”One thing to gain would be this — a (Cowboys) loss to the Commanders (assuming they beat the Browns on Sunday) would ensure that Aaron Rodgers wouldn’t get a seat at the postseason table, and that the hot (but not as hot as they were before Saturday) Lions are kept out, too.”

    Yeah it was said a lot after the last two seasons…Going 5-1 with “one-legged 46-year-old Alex Smith” as starter in 2020 then going 7-8 with “noodle-armed midget Heinicke” as starter in 2021 had a bunch of fans and even media members making comments about how far the team could go with just average QB play. But to your point the offensive weapons have been massively stocked up so those comments are more appropriate now.

    This would be our third year in a row saying the “If we have just an average QB” mantra lol…we must thoroughly suck at finding even average QBs.

    I dunno, it might be higher than that. There’s a realistic chance that if we beat the Browns, we eliminate all wildcard contenders except the Lions. The big hurdle though is that the Vikings play at Green Bay, and the Vikings may not travel well to outdoor stadiums in the cold.

    Doesn’t that logic apply to the Lions, Packers, Seahawks and Giants as well? What if we all lose next week? After all, 4 of the 5 WC hopefuls lost this week. Would any of them deserve to be in the playoffs more than the Commanders?

    Someone earlier on this thread (kleese?) mentioned retiring the “if we can’t (fill in the blank), we don’t deserve the playoffs” argument. I agree with them.

    I imagine most coaches who don’t survive 4 seasons without figuring out the QB position ended up sticking with the wrong QB for most of those seasons…and may not be contending for the playoffs in any of those seasons. I don’t know this for sure lol, just guessing.

    I (half jokingly) made the same comment about Wentz coming off the bench and leading the team to the Super Bowl about *47 pages ago lol…when he was inserted into the game yesterday I literally laughed and said “Oh ****, it’s happening” lol…
