If I’m doing that I would offer them a 6th or no better then a 5th and stay Pat at 2 and take Alt from Notre Dame… but I’m more then likely not doing that deal… at this juncture (even though I’m not as down on Fields as many are) I want to take Maye at 2 and call it a day and have him in the fold for 4yrs

I agree but every team every season signing a FA thinks or believes they fit their scheme… I don’t not think Queen fits the scheme my issue is (and you can say he’s improved every season) but trust me not until Smith got traded to Bmore was Queen even remotely the player he was last season… and oh by the way, a walk year which we all know players mysteriously find a little bit of motivation when that happens, my belief he falls under the normal Ravens LB who cashed in on huge FA deals never to live up to the hype…. Just my opinion though

Anybody else even slightly concerned w/signing Patrick Queen… Queen before Roguan Smith went to the Ravens was just a mid level MLB but together they formed the best duo in the NFL, I don’t know if he’s a stand alone LB

I love his podcast… and I just watched this podcast where he mentioned JJ, and to be honest, I totally agreed w/every word he said… he mentioned the guy Laser and think about it, it’s not always the best but the best suited for the NFL… JJ ran the offense that pretty much mirrored that of a NFL style scheme… I’ve been saying it for awhile now (even before the combine) I think when the dust settles and years go by McCarthy will be the best QB taken from this draft… also a side note, watch some of the other podcasts where he talks about the combine being useless, and where the WR have doped the NFL in paying them more then they’re worth… both very good podcasts

Totally agree, and despite not being much better imho I do think Fields has more upside and more value league wide then Sam does

Unless they get a deal they just can’t say no too I don’t see them trading Howell, and with all the talent coming out in the draft plus a few veteran QB’s on the FA market (Brissett, Minshew, Darnold) add to that if they trade him then they need to go out and find a backup and his deal would probably be for more $ then what Howell is making, I just don’t see Howell being dealt

I agree.. I can’t imagine anyone really seeing him (Mac Jones) as a true starting QB after the last 2 seasons, has to be as a backup and that not be a guarantee either… i might get blasted for this but if it came down to Mac Jones and Zack Wilson, I’d be trading for Wilson if I’m a GM… (not for the Commanders, but as a GM)

I wonder what teams? And for a starting role or as a back up?

I wouldn’t look to far into all this hand size stuff…for me if these guys have been slinging the ball around at QB at a high level as they have the size of their hand won’t matter at all in the NFL just another useless stat to talk about

Just my opinion … for QB play last season here is a list of teams that had worse QB play then the Bears with Fields : Commanders Titans Steelers Cards Jets Vikings (after Cousins went down) Giants Pats Seahawks Colts Panthers Falcons not bottom 5 imho was Fields….

👍🏻 totally agree… honestly it amazes me that ppl are so down on him…. If he’s bottom 5 then I’d hate to see those who are really bottom 5 and thoughts of them… sounds to me Fields could be had relatively cheap ….

I heard last night that Wilson could probably be had for league minimum cause the Broncos are on the hook for a lot of $… in all seriousness and many on this board would flip the freak out but let’s say we draft Maye at 2… sign Wilson cheap and let Maye sit (ala Jordan Love, Mahomes, Rodgers) and get something for Sam Howell… you might actually be on too something here… and I could think of many worse things then this…

Yeah I’m a bit feeling let down by overall by the QB’s… in fact Joe Milton even with his huge cannon of a arm only proves to me what we all knew anyhow about him… all the tools but when the lights come on he’s a no show… reminds me of the driving range guys… great in the range but another thing on the course…..imho JJ definitely moved into the 4th QB taken … if not the 3rd w/all the noise about Jayden Daniels … Daniels better have a awesome/great (controlled atmosphere) Pro Day

I’m kinda feeling that opinion too, but mine is that they will trade out of the 2 and get more picks and depending on where that comes from and if possible will grab a JJ McCarthy or Bo Nix type and let Howell start the season as the starter and that at anytime he could be replaced by said draft pick…. just my opinion though ..
