  1. That looks amazing...and I bet it smells amazing too! Mom just got back from one of her bucket list vacations, (a European river cruise), and Budapest was one of the stops. She said that the food was fantastic and they put paprika in a lot of food. I think that they spent a couple days there and tried a lot of local food, (Mom is the reason that I'm such a foodie and love to cook๐Ÿ˜Ž) She brought me some spices back. I can't wait to try the Podravka Vegeta. It's supposed to be savory and is used in a lot of Hungarian dishes.
  2. I cannot agree more! Those choregraphed celebrations are cringeworthy. Act like you've been there before. Those players should watch how John Riggins celebrated after ripping a 43 yd TD in a Super XVII with the game on the line. Toss the ball to the official and jog to the sideline.
  3. Same. I remember, back in the day, when we were beating the **** out of the Cardinals, and one of did some ass-hat celebration for making a first down. One of our LB's...it was Monte Coleman, (I think...I'm old!), tapped him on the shoulder and pointed to the scoreboard....
  4. Buoyed by a couple of successful "hot and fast" brisket cooks, (and getting the freezer ready for venison)I tried that method with an 8 1/2 lb pork butt. It only took a little over 7 hrs. Average temp was 300ยฐ I don't typically wrap these, but I did stick it in a foil covered aluminum pan after it had a decent bark, which was when it hit 173 because I was worried that the high temp would cause a tough, bitter bark. Like the briskets, there wasn't a noticeable stall and it was probe tender at 201ยฐ I rested it for a couple hours in the oven then pulled and vacuum sealed it into meal-sized portions for my hunting buddies. Mrs. Skinsfan and I were very happy with the results. I like the idea that
  5. I prefer subs too. I like the nuance, but don't understand a damn thing, except for a few words and phrases. I always get a kick out of it when the use English words and/or phrases with that Japanese accent. It's funny, when I'm watching it, if Fran is on the phone or making noise, I'll turn the TV up, even though I don't understand ****! **** is a good one too
  6. I watch all styles and the "adult animation" as well. One Punch Man is gold! I forgot about Cowboy BeBop. I was pleasantly surprised at the live version too...they nailed a lot of it without getting too bogged down. Same deal with the live version of One Piece. I I couldn't of described "Love Death & Robots" any better. Some of them are fantastic....some are just WTF?? Those Japanese writers get away with a lot of **** that wouldn't fly here.
  7. I see that there are quite a few anime series recommendations in the other thread. I think that there are enough fans, that it's enough to warrant it's own thread. If not, mods feel free to shut it down. Years ago, my brother-in-law turned me on to anime, and I've been hooked ever since. For those of you who know nothing about watching anime, the draw for me anyway, is that the writing is clever, the storylines bizarre, (and often dark), the humor is typically adult and cleverly written. I watch with subtitles on Netflix, Hulu, and Prime...but I do most of my viewing on the Crunchyroll app. Here's a few that I like and can recommend, in no particular order. Some I've finished, some are are ongoing with multiple spin-offs and movies. Hunter x Hunter, Castlevania, Naruto, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Arcane, One Piece, (I'm up to episode 548...and hope to be able to finish it in my lifetime๐Ÿ˜†), Attack on Titan, Invincible, Demon Slayer, Baki Hanma, One Punch Man, Seven Deadly Sins, Chainsaw Man. That's just a partial list. There are 1000's to choose from. I'm also curious as to how you watch them, dub or sub, and what streaming service, Netflix, Amazon, Crunchyroll, etc. What do you watch and what can you recommend?
  8. I used to think that....but those ads are a good excuse to get off my ass and stretch....especially if I'm binge watching... Mrs. Skinsfan and I are always lucky that way. By the time we get around to watching most series, they've already been out for a long time.
  9. Going old school.... Shrimp Scampi Krispy Kreme's Post tailgate dogs & fixings Table Grill Camp stove Chairs Something else TBD
  10. I'm on chapter 10 in "Age of Myth" and i can't turn the pages fast enough. I've really been looking for another good, epic fantasy tale, and this really fits the bill. If the Riyria Revelations is the better series, then I really have something to look forward to. Thanks, again for the recommentation!
  11. .....and it doesn't break the bank๐Ÿ˜Ž Fran and I drank a lot of whiskey in Ireland, toured the Irish Whiskey Museum, etc. Most of the locals drank Powers and I developed a taste for it.
  12. I rarely drink beer anymore, to the point that it comes perilously close to the sell-by dates. I think this one is at least a year old, if not older. The "best before" date is 11/23/23, so might as well drink it. It's a great cool-weather beer. Heavy, rich, high ABV and aged in used bourbon barrels. What's not to like?๐Ÿ˜Ž
  13. I used to be a coffee geek....I'm a Navy brat and when Dad was stationed in Naples, Italy, we all developed an affinity for expresso and cappuccino and dark roast coffee. I drank 4-5 cups a day, but years ago I had a medical issue where I gave up caffeine and alcohol, for almost a year. I was allowed to introduce them back into my diet, but found that 1 large mug over the course of the day is plenty. I'm still, somewhat of a coffee geek. In addition to the French press a Chemex 3-cup maker and, of course, I grind my own beans. I even have a collapsible electric kettle and a Melitta collapsible pour over filter for travel. I'd rather not drink coffee at all, then have a bad cup. Yeah...I guess I'm still a coffee geek. ๐Ÿ˜…
  14. The 15.4lb bags of Royal Oak Lump are on sale at Walmart.com right now for $13.47 each I only use lump in the Kamado and the Royal Oak is really good stuff. I snagged 3 bags and saved $50.00. Free shipping/delivery on orders over $35.00. My favorite, Jealous Devil lump, is on sale too, but the discount isn't as steep.
  15. Picked these up today on sale, of course. I'm really impressed with the Powers.
  16. Around 20 years, or so, ago....my one and only ban was by this character that you're describing. If memory serves, it was because I was bad-mouthing the owner๐Ÿ˜…
