  1. I still think he has the potential to be great. I would sit him most/all of this season to learn behind Brissett. It's not like NE is a QB away from going deep in the playoffs this year.
  2. Andrew Wylie? Yeah, I hear you but Rome wasn't built in a day and it was unlikely both positions would be upgraded based on all the other needs we had on this team. Who knows, tho - we could end up signing a surprise FA to compete at RT although I don't think there are many likely options left out there.
  3. While I don't consider him the answer over the long haul, I think Lucas is better than a turnstile. Maybe more like a loosely fastened chain-link gate.
  4. Logan Pauline said that a strong interior OL can make the OT position less critical if it can effectively bottle up the pressure coming up the middle. Maybe this was the theory behind "building from the inside out"?
  5. I know you're trying to be cute - by "we", I mean the team. And there are ways they can teach him how to protect himself better. I agree that undergoing an NFL weight training program is going to be a key part of that. But I assume that will happen regardless.
  6. But that's what we are being told by Keim et al that the FO was thinking when drafting him...
  7. It's probably reasonable to assume Lucas starts at LT and Coleman will eventually transition into that role at some point this season, best case scenario. I can't image the coaches envisioned him stepping into the starting LT role right from day 1.
  8. Yeah, I agree. I could live with a "W" if it didn't look like some kind of origami artwork creation.
  9. We all want him to succeed. That is why we want to make sure if he doesn't already know how to take care of his body, this coaching staff takes seriously the need to do so in this offseason so that he can be as successful (and healthy) as he can be.
  10. Love the feathers, hate the "W" insignia. If they could get rid of the "W" and replace it with something else, that would be so much better.
  11. I'd vote to go back to "Washington Football Team" and go with the helmet with the number on the side. I thought those were dope.
  12. It's why I'm not giddy like others about our shiny new QB yet.
  13. I'm no orthopod but having the same fracture in both feet at the same time seems unusual. Hope you're right about having him ready for the season, although he'll still need to get into game shape which will be hard to do while wearing a boot.
  14. Not good. Exactly why I think coaching him to take hits and avoid hits is almost as important as footwork, throwing motion, learning the playbook. In fact, I think he can do the other stuff quite well. He has yet to show he knows how to protect his body.
  15. Not happy about this news at all. Keeps getting worse.
  16. What would you call the team, then? BTW, they need to ditch the "W" and go back with either the number on the side of the helmet or something else. And please get rid of those awful black unis and go back to burgundy and gold.
  17. I hope they spend a signficant amount of time coaching Daniels on how to protect his body when hit, how to properly slide, and to run out of bounds when scrambling. We don't need him routinely taking Looney Tunes-like hits every time he runs with the ball.
  18. The big unknown, of course, is whether last year was a function of overuse/poor scheme or the first in a long decline. Still think it's worth keeping him. He's a leader. We need some consistency.
  19. My preference at this point would be to sign a FA over trading anyone on the roster now.
  20. So, not all that good? I don't recall the Texans having that bad of an OL last year although maybe they looked better than they were due to the play of CJ Stroud.
  21. I would be very surprised if we moved Allen. Even moreso now that we know Newton is going to be coming off a surgery to his foot going into his rookie season.
  22. I'm not one who puts too much stock in measurables over game tape/production. But a 40 time >4.7 for a WR is tough to ignore. One of my buddies is a huge UGA fan and did say this guy could be a great possession, move-the-chains type of WR for us if he's able to make the roster.
