  1. Good read here on Kingsbury's offense, gets into great detail. TE's will be used a lot and so will crossing routes. Spread the field mentality. Best case scenario we've got 2012 all over again, minus the ending with the QB. There are lots of reasons to be excited because we've upgraded in so many areas. https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/news/fiction-and-non-fiction-on-kliff-kingsbury-offense
  2. Between this kid and Newton we added two HUGE young pieces to this defense. Add in the free agent signings like the bookend tackles and Frankie Luvu with Bobby Wagner and we are gonna bring the juice on defense. Bobby Witt must be absolutely stoked. Wouldn't it be great to bring in Xavien Howard to replace Fuller as starting CB?
  3. I agree, and I think Forbes slight build is gonna be a liability for him compared to the guys Peters has brought in and I don't think Forbes brings anything else to the table as far as versatility. He's pretty much a lockdown corner who can't lockdown.....unless he makes huge strides over this offseason. This is a developing situation!
  4. Me too, but my real hope is that our coaching staff will take advantage of mismatches like most coaching staffs do. RR and EB never did this. Remember how the Eagles abused us with AJ Brown whenever we put Forbes on him? I hope Kingsbury knows enough, and I'm confidents he will, to abuse mismatches.....Ekeler and Ertz will help with this too.
  5. Good call here, would be a great Sunday night season opener in prime time.
  6. Given our signings at CB does Emmanuel Ford need to be somewhat concerned?
  7. I'm intrigued and encouraged by all 4 of the corners/safties Peters signed as UDFA's. I'll bet at least 3 of them land on the roster or PS.
  8. I think I agree with you...when you're a 4-13 team with new parts/pieces literally all across your organization go for adding more pucks in future drafts if it's there. I'd be curious as to how trade offers AP rejected to move back?
  9. Not a judgement, it's an observation. Big difference. It's also not a criticism of Peters, more a comparison to what Roseman did.
  10. Maybe he'll be a similar player to what his dad was in his career? Ed McCaffery was very good, always open and made contested catches...good route runner from what I recall.
  11. There's always a potential reason to deal a guy, especially with new management coming in. Sometimes new management tears everything down and brings in all of their own guys although that doesn't seem to be the case here. Besides that, Jonathon Allen is heading into his 8th year and the prime time to deal him to a contender is likely right around now, especially after the draft pick of Newton? If dealing Allen can land us an Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel that might be a deal that Peters is very intrigued by? You can also take the money you would've owed Allen to pay Aiyuk or Deebo.....makes sense to me.
  12. I'm with ya, and I can't stand Roseman, but he may have had his best draft ever this weekend. That being said, I'm willing to give Peters a learning curve.
  13. My grade for Peters, after seeing the total body of the draft, is B- for a couple of big reasons: 1). we got none of the LT prospects that we desperately need, 2). Compared to Howie Roseman who traded up and back while getting multiple picks for next years draft, Peters largely sat still during the draft and played the board as it came to him. I didn't see a whole lot of creativity from him other than the deal with Roseman which allowed the Eagles to swoop in and take Dejean. That deal may end up really impacting Peters grade one way or another. All that being said, as Bill Polian said today, you can't really grade a draft class for 4 years so we'll see how this all plays out. I'd give Peters an "A" for free agency but thought he'd be more aggressive during the draft. Still, I'm extremely excited to see this team continue to add pieces before opening day.
  14. When listening to Peters call to Newton he tells him that he "couldn't believe he was still on the board". This tells me that we had a grade on Newton that was much higher and just couldn't pass him up. After Daniels it feels like Peters took the bpa approach while considering most of our needs but obviously not all of them. So now is Allen or Payne a trade candidate for an offensive lineman or stud WR (Samuel or Aiyuk)?
  15. This pick is where Peters needs to make a real steal on a shock the world type of player.
  16. At this point I may roll the dice on Brendan Rice just because of how pissed off his dad probably is and how revengeful he's gonna have his son be against the rest of the league. Not to mention the bloodlines....
  17. This stat is misleading, 19 of them were in one game where his pants fit too tight.
  18. Our defensive huddle is gonna be night and day different than under JDR....look at the speed and personalities we've added. Forbes is gonna have to hold up his end while Allen and Payne are gonna be pushed to greatness. If we do add any more pieces in free agency it'll be even stronger. We have gotten seriously more physical and faster on defense and much more intense given our coaching and player additions.
  19. Pairing Jordan Magee with Frankie Luvu seems like it could be very smart. Luvu will teach Magee as will Bobby Wagner. Peters is definitely working on making this defense an attaking one.
  20. Pat Kirwan was on Sirius NFL radio this week talking about all of the still available free agents who will get phone calls immediately after the draft. I gotta believe we'll be involved in some of that and that's why some of these free agents haven't signed yet.
  21. But I would draft Milton, QB Tennessee
