  1. The no sickness one is the top seed. I don’t give a **** about colds or whatever, I just don’t want cancer.
  2. Overrated: the changing of the guard Underrated: people watching at Trafalgar square Overrated: the Louvre Underrated: finding any Parisian street market and consuming every goddamn food and drink you can.
  3. First thought was, yea, this works too. Second thought was, with how aggressive you could be with a $100M annuity, the potential capital games are enormous so the no taxes pays off exponentially. Third thought was Ive drunk 4 and a half mint juleps so far tonight, and this is as hypothetical as discussions can possibly get, so you do you. 😆
  4. She ended up mixing 3 different mocktails like a mad scientist. Best was mint/simple/lemon juice/sprite.
  5. As I mentioned in the cooking thread, I got a plot in my local community garden. I just got it March 1, so have not actually grown anything yet, but Im there today trying to get it in order, and the family next to me is there, so we’re chatting, and theyve had their plot for a few years so they already have stuff coming up. Guy is like, “we have so much freaking mint, please take some.” So obvious I made mint juleps with Makers and absurdly fresh mint that had been in the ground 30 minutes ago.
  6. $100M No taxes No sickness None of the rest are close.
  7. It’s not about losing to a Dem, it’s about challenges from their right. From their perspective, it’s extremely important not to allow someone to appear Trumpier than they are and take their job in the next primary. They can’t be labeled RINOs, which just means anyone that doesn’t fully support Trump. So I think they are doing dumb performative groveling, but they aren’t irrational and it has a point.
  8. I mean, the point is to conspicuously show their fealty to Trump so they get reelected by their largely Trump-cult voters.
  9. The baby formula prices aren't a surprise. Baby formula prices are way up because the industry is so concentrated (4 companies make 97% of the formula in the US) and because the price is almost entirely inelastic (if you need baby formula, you will buy baby formula at almost any price because your baby needs food). There was a significant shortage in 2022 and the 4 firms discovered that the market will bear higher prices, so now those higher prices are the going rate.
  10. Methinks that they understand that their state map is so gerrymandered that the MOST vulnerable Congressional seat is +16 R according to the Cook Political Report's Voting Index. https://www.cookpolitical.com/cook-pvi/2022-partisan-voting-index/district-map-and-list
  11. That's great to hear and I am SHOCKED. I didn't think a non-linear game where the player has a great deal of flexibility on how good or evil to be could be adapted into a linear TV show. Can't wait to check it out.
  12. Not even close. He made an amendment and sent it back to the legislature for further consideration. That is very different from: The tweet (very probably intentionally) makes it sound like his actions are a done deal. Stop making me defend Sweatervest!
  13. **** Duke in all respects, but that tweet "in its entire history" makes it sound like Duke's success goes back for a long time. Duke won its first championship 33 years ago, and UConn won its first 25 years ago. Why wouldn't you go with Kentucky here, which won its first natty in 1948?
  14. I think that tweet is unnecessarily inflammatory and misrepresents what happened. Gosh I wish some of these activists groups would stop overplaying their hand, especially when they don't need to. Here is a less drunk explanation of the process per Bloomberg Law. So Youngkin declined to sign the original Dem bill, but he didn't veto it. He amended it and sent it back for reconsideration during the session that starts in 1 week. The original bill already passed both chambers once, so they are likely to reject Sweatervest's amendments and send it back to him in original form. THEN he can sign it or veto it, and if he vetoes it, that will set off yet another political ****storm like the AZ decision did yesterday, which will be bad for Virginia for 2 years, but will help Democrats in November.
  15. I guess we've gotten into the low hanging fruit phase of the Youngkin administration. Probably a good thing.
  16. I hope you are right, but Hurley makes $5 million per year at UConn. Cap was making like $9 million. The SEC just has way more money to throw at people. And I hate them for it.
  17. So...Dan Hurley to Kentucky?
  18. "Tremors" is not something Beetlejuice, Dune, and Fear and Loathing have in common. I'm so confused. 😕
  19. Oh, I think it is and it's the main joke in that Venn diagram. For Beetlejuice and Dune, it refers to snake-like monsters that dig in the ground, similar to the monsters from the classic Kevin Bacon move of the same name. Dune, I assume you know what it refers to. Tremors and Beetlejuice: I think the guy in the middle may be related to Dune, but I've never seen the movie. However, for Fear and Loathing, Johnny Depp's character has body tremors throughout the movie as a symptom of the drugs and alcohol he's abusing and/or withdrawal from the drugs and alcohol. So it's sort of a pun. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
  20. I went to the University, I am not from WV. I watched the eclipse on a rooftop on Pennsylvania Avenue surrounded by lawyers on the various rooftops between my building and K Street. These people follow the rules.
