    Nah. I think Sweat is very athletic and very capable of big time plays. The idea of paying him a ton of money to be meh against the run and good against the pass makes me stomach churn.

    Toohill is a better DE than Sweat. Not as explosive or as good of a pass rusher. But a better overall player. I’d rather trade Sweat and start him than pay Sweat.

    Every week Heinicke guys talk about how he has the guys playing harder just for him. His ability to rally the locker room is talked about weekly. I’d rather hear about BRob than that lazy take.

    I don’t disagree with you here. Heinicke limits this team significantly but this team is on the struggle bus for many reasons. Not just Heinous.

    Our guys over pursued and Jones knew they would and cut back to the opening. Bad defense there.

    Can’t blame Heinicke for that turnover but Heinicke is now playing with a OL that was just as bad as Wentz’ and he’s getting hit and abused. Looks a lot like a Wentz game right now, actually. Just a few plays he’s saved with some evasion.

    You don’t honestly look at those numbers and say, “yup! That was all Heinicke!” Do you? The best thing he’s done today was evade the Giants pass rush and give guys chances. But those numbers are misleading.

    Jones is a better version of Heinicke. Minus some moxie.

    Getting better from absolutely horrible is absolutely truth. He’s gone for dog **** to bad. So, improvement is improvement.

    Goes back to last week when he thought he had the arm strength to do that and was picked off. He needs to stay away from those.

    Yes. It can’t be that Sweat just isn’t a great DE. Good pass rusher? Sure. Explosive player? Okay. Great DE? No. He stinks against run.

    Me too. But some here thought this unit was elite. It’s not. But it IS good. But that means there are some matchups which can hurt us. The Giants are one.

    I think we have high end DTs. We have a very good SS. We have a developing FS, CB1. CB2 is solid, ballhawk type. We are weak at DEs. We have a ILB who is developing and another who stinks and hybrid defenders who dont really fit in those spots. They are making it work. They are a good unit. But they aren’t near great.

    Actually, you’re fairly insufferable with your inability to take the good with the back with Heinicke. He’s been bad. It’s okay. Sometimes he’s good.
