  1. I don’t care what he says. I don’t even listen to the pressers. I don’t listen to in season pressers, really, either. It’s all bull****. They are not open and honest. And a lot of sound bites are taken out of context. Every once in awhile someone says something out of frustration or pure stupidity. I prefer to not give a **** what any of them say… because if I was them I wouldn’t tell anyone ****.
  2. To be fair, given the great “trade back vs. AP said we won’t so we won’t” debate of April ‘24… I don’t care what Peters said. Nothing… NOTHING*… any of these guys say right now should be taken at face value. Even if it’s true. *-the exception is when your HC/GM is Ron Rivera
  3. We’re really, really, really getting off the path here. Jayden Daniels is not Randall Cunningham. But comparing Drake Maye to Ben Roethlisberger is an egregious lack of understanding Drake Maye’s entire game. At least Cunningham could run and throw a little. That’s ballpark Jayden. But Ben was an absolute statue. He navigated the pocket fairly well and moved with pressure (something Maye doesn’t do well) but he couldn’t out athlete anyone (something Maye does do). I don’t know. This draft cycle has been wild. I still don’t understand why McCarthy has been discounted the entire cycle. When I first watched him I thought he sucked. Then I watched more and I saw it. Dude is highly skilled. I can’t wait for draft night. More so to see what kind of made up gibberish comes out of the media and others because they don’t like who we picked, whoever it may be
  4. As we get closer I am more and more gunshy on Daniels. Dont get me wrong. I think his ceiling is absolute superstardom. Like through the roof superstardom. But a player’s best ability is avail. And while Daniels showed no signs of injury the last two seasons… I worry about the hits he takes from a NFL perspective. I understand that is conjecture. I understand there is a burden of proof to statements like that and I have none. It’s just a gut based on watching some of the hits he takes, his small frame and our history with a very similar prospect. I understand that RG3’s career trajectory doesn’t apply to Daniels. I truly do. But it’s hard to shake it. I’ll be fine if it’s Daniels. Really. I think he can be great. But I’d be the most disappointed with him in this crop. At this point I’d prefer McCarthy. He has a similar size issues but he protects himself better. I don’t think he has the same sky high ceiling but I think he has a great ceiling. I’m a coin toss between JJ and Drake. 51/49 Drake I think. But I am souring more and more on the idea of Daniels. Im sorry, JD fans. I really do see his potential and agree with you all that he could be absolutely special. I just can’t fight this feeling anymooooorrrrreeeeeeeeeee… My gut has been JJ for awhile but man; I can’t shake Maye’s physical traits. And when you’re at 2 you draft traits and experience. So it’s hard to say JJ outright. But I’d be excited for him.
  5. Well, we won’t be drafting you! I keep forgetting Mariota is even on this team. Complete JAG.
  6. You should see the giant PM thread about you involving half of the active forum
  7. My Commanders really were interested in Vince Lombardi. But they came up short. Because he’s not alive. We’ll try again next year. ~Magic
  8. Well… if you are new, and I have my doubts, but let’s give you the benefit here: You missed the first three cycles. Maye hate was normal. Then it became Caleb hate. Then McCarthy. We’re at Daniels hate stage now.
  9. I have very few prospects that I am down on. Latham is one. I won’t deny he has some sort of potential. I just don’t think he’s going to realize it.
  10. Latham is a trap. Alabama OTs tend to struggle. He’s huge, and moves decently. But when you put him against NFL elite edges he is going to struggle. He doesn’t have the movement. I wouldn’t draft him. Fuaga has been my top RT since… I think forever. I still like Alt and Fashanu at RT as well. I think there is a large fall off after those guys, though. I like Morgan as a potential guy and a developmental guy. Has all the traits. Don’t love the other tackles. I keep hearing everyone talk about them but I’m just not sold. I see potential in guys like Guyton, for sure, but I wouldn’t take him in the first. Guard it’s Beebe and everyone else for me. Still like Powers and Van Pran among a few others at C.
  11. I’m having a hard time with sarcasm here lately, but… I love McCarthy. I don’t think he has the same potential ceiling as Maye or even Daniels, but I think he has a higher floor and a relatively high ceiling. But if you’re picking second it’s SO hard to say… ya… let’s pick the safer guy. But I think I’m one of about 9 people that wouldn’t be mad at all if they draft McCarthy at 2. I’d be a bit bewildered for a moment… a little in shock. My next thought would be “wow I hope Maye doesn’t hit in combination with a McCarthy bust…” Then my next thought would be, “holy **** the meltdown on ES is going to be epic!” And I’d make sure I was refreshing our draft night thread every 3 seconds to capture the fun and excitement.
  12. Your first mistake is taking any of these scout takes seriously. Could be some random guy that gets scouts coffee... could be a smoke screen... could be honest... could be a lot of things. But these stupid "scouts said..." takes should be ignored. Every time.
  13. Mine is: 1. Marvin Harrison Jr - don't overthink this. He is the class of the class. 2. Malik Nabers 3. Ladd McConkey 4. Xavier Legette 5. Rome Odunze 6. Troy Franklin 7. Brian Thomas 8. Roman Wilson 9. Ricky Pearsall 10. Malachi Corley Very different than a lot of people's. Most different is I don't understand the Brian Thomas love other than speed... and then I think Worthy is faster. Thomas just has more size.

  15. Or... this is a smokescreen by all parties and Daniels is the guy. Who knows. Lying season. The 12 hours before the draft is when we start to get real info from teams.
  16. Feeling like it didn’t go well would be a way of telling someone, too. Just kind of a bit less friendly demeanor or whatever the case may be. I’m defending this statement like I care, and I really don’t. Just that there are many ways of communication and verbal isn’t the only one. And neither is “direct”. But quite frankly I don’t particularly care if they did or didn’t tell him. My read is that they know something. And are getting ahead of it. Heck, it could have been Daniels camp telling them he doesn’t want to come here. Or Maye’s agent whispering in Jayden’s agent’s ear. Or Dan Quinn smiled a bit too brightly at Maye. Or none of it and this agent is having a last second melt down. But that doesn’t make much sense.
  17. I think you’re taking my “they told him it wasn’t him” a bit too literal. Again, there are many, many ways to say that without walking up to the guy and saying, “hey bro, it ain’t you. And eat a sandwich.” Exactly.
  18. There are many ways to tell him without saying it outright. “We’re sorry you didn’t enjoy this process, but we view this as instrumental in helping to determine our choice and the way people react matter to us.” ”We value the total package in a QB, not just the speed.” Could be anything…
  19. I think it’s possible Daniels was told it wasn’t going to be him and the agent and Jayden are a little bitter.
  20. It’s just like he is trying to be RG3 and make those comparisons a reality. Family and/or reps being a bit too publicly opinionated? Check. Running QB who excels at throwing the deep ball? Check. Frail frame? Check. Yes, everyone, Daniels is probably a better prospect than RG3, though I’m not totally sold on that. But he is doing everything he can to make sure he’s compared to him.
