  1. But they don't need a LT. They have Slater. They need a RT, but they can go for Paul/Rosengarten/etc. with their early 2nd. I think I'd rather have Nabers/MHJ than take Alt.
  2. Nah, I'm saying why take 11+23 to take the RT (Fuaga, Latham, etc) at 11 and hope a good WR is there at 23? I figure Thomas is long gone, so are they taking Mitchell there? I don't see it. I'd rather have Nabers/MHJ+Paul/Kingsley (taken at their early 2nd) vs Fuaga/Latham (11)+Chop Robinson (23)+Pearsall/etc (early 2nd).
  3. I think if Brooks is there at 71, I'm running to the podium and taking him. I don't care if he's an RB. He represents too much value at that point in the draft. With B-Rob, Ekelar, and Rodriguez, we can sit him an allow him to recuperate.
  4. Unless the Bolts are headset on taking a RT at 5, why would they do that. Pound for pound, Nabers/MHJ are better than any OL in this draft. They can get a Patrick Paul type with their early 2nd if they are fixated on tackle. This draft has so many of them.
  5. This team isn't winning anything for years. Deni is the only one who maybe could play in an all-star game once. He's still extremely valuable (especially with his cheap contract extension). Plus, their pick goes to the Knicks if it falls out of the top 10 next year or top 8 the year after that (if they are still bad, then they owe two second rounders instead). There is no way they are going to be good simply because of that liability. They are in Y1 of a massive rebuild. It'll take 4-5 years before they can sniff trying to compete for a title (they have to be extremely lucky to draft all-star caliber talents).
  6. I'm thinking if all of our desired targets (Kool-Aid, Darius Robinson, Morgan, Ladd) are gone at 36, we could have a trade up candidate for Edgerinn Cooper as teams would want LB1. Green Bay at 41 desperately needs a LB for example. Also, Nix might be there as well.
  7. I just don't see him fall to us unfortunately GC. His floor is probably SF at 31. They need DL help badly (along with OL help). He's battling to be edge 4 with Chop. Arizona is going to take an edge at either 27 or 34.
  8. No way Robinson makes it to 36. He's scheduled to attend the draft. The NFL isn't inviting players to sit all day and not get picked.
  9. I posted this earlier in the thread: In 2022, Jets traded 36 for 38+146 (10 spots from the top of round 5) In 2022, Falcons traded 38 for 43+114 (a mid 4th) In 2022, Indy traded 42+122 ( (mid 4th) for 53+77 (mid 3rd)+192 (mid 6th) In 2021, Bengals traded 38 for 46+122 (20 spots from the top of round 4)+139 (early 5th) In 2021, Carolina traded 39+151 (mid 5th) for 52+83 (mid 3rd)+204 (27 spots from top of round 6) In 2021, Giants traded 42 for 50+future 3rd In 2020, Browns traded 41 for 44+160 (24 spots from top of round 5) In 2019, Raiders traded 35+140 (top of round 5)+235 (mid 7th) for 38+109 (8 spots from top of round 4) In 2019, Seahawks traded 37 for 47+77 (12 spots from top of round 3) In 2019, Raiders traded 38 for 40+158 (mid 5th)
  10. Its one thing when you are MHJ who has been regarded as a top 5 pick for years. Its another when you are OL and are competing against the multitude of top tier guys this year. I have him falling significantly. I think his range is honestly 18-32 now. I can't justify taking him over Fuaga or Fautanu.
  11. Unless its Morgan, I don't think we get a starting LT in the 2nd round right away. I'm thinking we may sign a Donovan Smith type as a stopgap for this season. That or we sign DJ Humphries (Kliff knows him) and hope he rehabs quick from his ACL.
  12. He doesn't go past Pittsburgh IMO. I know they need OL help, but they can get a RT prospect in R2. They won't get a WR like Thomas. They traded away Johnson. Pickens is uber talented, but you just don't know what you'll get from him.
  13. Yeah, I think Brooks is a definite potential pick for us with our first 3rd. We redshirt him and hope he doesn't become Bryce Love 2.0. He's a big time talent and B-Rob would be entering his last year after this season (and Ekelar is a short-term solution as well), so thinking ahead is a smart strategy. I think Thomas is kind of going to fall through no fault of his own. With the depth of this class, who is taking him in the teens? 11). Minnesota (will be used in a trade up for a QB) 12). Denver (can't see them taking WR. They are a big time trade down team (for another team who wants CB1 (like Arnold or Mitchell) 13). Vegas (RT is a major need and Fuaga/Latham/Fautanu will be there) 14). Saints (O-line is a huge need area and Fashanu, Fuaga, Fautanu, Latham all represent value) 15). Colts (maybe, but I think they go edge or CB (Arnold/Mitchell (whomever is left)) 16). Seattle (no way as OL is a major need and Fautanu could be the pick) 17). Jags (maybe, but I think they grab CB3 (Wiggins)) 18). Bengals (Yes, but could go DT1 (Murphy) or CB3 (Wiggins if still available)) 19). Rams (Perhaps, but could go Edge, CB, or DT) 20). Steelers (Sneaky yes as they traded away Johnson. However, CB and OL are major need areas as well) 21). Miami (no way) 22). Philly (no way) 23). Minnesota (will be used in trade up for QB) 24). Dallas (maybe, but I think this OL) 25). GB (no way) 26). Tampa (maybe, but edge or OL makes more sense) 27). Cards (only if they don't take WR at 4) 28). Bills (Yes)
  14. Yeah, we kind of have an assumption of the value for trading down from our pick from looking at previous drafts. In 2022, Jets traded 36 for 38+146 (10 spots from the top of round 5) In 2022, Falcons traded 38 for 43+114 (a mid 4th) In 2022, Indy traded 42+122 ( (mid 4th) for 53+77 (mid 3rd)+192 (mid 6th) In 2021, Bengals traded 38 for 46+122 (20 spots from the top of round 4)+139 (early 5th) In 2021, Carolina traded 39+151 (mid 5th) for 52+83 (mid 3rd)+204 (27 spots from top of round 6) In 2021, Giants traded 42 for 50+future 3rd In 2020, Browns traded 41 for 44+160 (24 spots from top of round 5) In 2019, Raiders traded 35+140 (top of round 5)+235 (mid 7th) for 38+109 (8 spots from top of round 4) In 2019, Seahawks traded 37 for 47+77 (12 spots from top of round 3) In 2019, Raiders traded 38 for 40+158 (mid 5th) So in summary, if we move down 1-3 spots from either 2nd, we will get an early 5th round pick. Move down 5 spots, we can get a mid 4th (something we lack right now). Trade down 8-10 spots, we either get a mid 3rd or a 3rd the following year. Yeah, I was listening to Logan on Keim's podcast and he really liked Pearsall. He also liked Burton a lot, but said he had character issues.
  15. Yeah, too bad they probably won't be there Robinson might be there, but he's IMO edge 5 after Turner, Verse, Latu (depending on medicals), and Chop. Tampa, Bills, Ravens, and SF could all use DL help and could take him. Morgan is an athletic tackle that teams like GB, Ravens, SF (especially), KC, and NE (who needs a LT just as much as we do) could take. Ladd might be there, but again, I think because the depth is so great at WR this year that if we got an Arizona trade down offer type I'd do it. Carolina is taking a WR (maybe two) for sure with either of their 2nd rounders. NE also needs WR help desperately. KC (with Rice's legal issues) could take one. AZ (if they don't take one at 4 and trade down) could take one at 27. Of the above three, I actually think Ladd might have the best chance of making it to 36. After the big 4 (MHJ, Nabers, Odunze, Thomas), some teams may prefer Mitchell & Worthy above him. He's battling them though for WR5.
  16. Right now if Kool-Aid isn't there at 36, I'm almost of the opinion that we should trade down. This draft is so deep at WR and day 2 RT types (Paul, Rosengarten, Fisher, etc) that we could still get one after trading down. Arizona made a fantastic trade last year trading #33 for 41+72+future 3rd rounder from the Titans who took Levis. If Nix or Penix are there at 36/40, we could make a killing trading down. Considering the depth in this year's class, Carolina (whom is locked into taking a WR with either of their 2nd rounders) should do a similar trade down). Here are some examples of trades from last year in our range. 1). In 2023, Vegas traded 38+141 for 35 (Carolina has similar picks if they want to do something like that this year) 2). In 2023, Indy traded 38 for 44+110
  17. Oh, they are tanking for two mor years at least. That Knicks pick is top 8 protected in 2026.
  18. Yeah, but it's one thing with a Trey Smith type situation (where doctors were basically saying do not draft this player) and another with this type of situation. Plus, with the statements that he made during the draft process (his partying days were behind him) and he pulls this stunt? Can't trust someone like this. DQ & Peters are building an entire new roster have brought in a specific type of player in FA (Wagner, Ekeler, etc) who love football and are total pros. Plus, he's probably looking at a suspension on top of this I think.
  19. I'm not touching someone who is too stupid to use a ride-share. Now I know some players (like Dak) have been successful despite getting a DWI before the draft, but you can't take a player like in your first draft if you are Peters.
  20. Ok, he's off the draft board for me personally now.
  21. Thanks for the writeup GC. Yeah, I'm not sure who the first DB after the big 5 (Arnold, Mitchell, Wiggins, Dejean, Kool-Aid) is going to be. I'd rather have Lassiter than Rakestraw for sure however. From perusing Philly, it seems like Davis can't stay in shape. He should have came out and beasted in his 2nd year. Philly needs him & Carter to bring the wood. Cox retiring leaves a giant void in leadership for them. That's probably why they resigned Graham more than anything.
  22. I'm with you GC. I'm not forcing a pick at 36 & 40. Kool-Aid is my most realistic target at 36. I think he's a clear cut above any of the other likely remaining outside CBs. Still, I don't think he lasts till then because other teams will see the other deficiencies of the other CBs like Tampa. Then again, DQ has had success finding DBs like Bland way late in the draft. What are your thoughts on Lassiter? I know you follow Georgia big time. He has run slow during the draft prep, but he looks the part otherwise. Wilson is easily a top 20 talent, but the injury history scares me tremendously. Sweat's issue to me is purely a weight issue. Jordan Davis's struggles in the pros shows big concern as to whether you can draft someone like that.
  23. Th problem is that everyone lives in Nova. It would be a big ask to move everyone from Nova to PG.
  24. Yup. Philly took Embiid knowing he wasn't going to even play his rookie year. They were playing the long game. I can't see us going for immediate satisfaction over the best longterm answer.
