  1. Honestly what McLaurin has done his first two seasons as a third round pick with these QBs is nothing short of miraculous. He’s an incredible player. So excited to see what he looks like with a real offense around him.
  2. Allen and Payne being easily replaceable is quite a take. Have we gotten that spoiled by our DL already?
  3. I could see Schweitzer and Charles being our starting guards next season. Even Ismael could potentially be an option by that point if he continues to develop. And Flowers could be back, but I’d guess probably not at the 10 mil he’s scheduled to make next year. Drafting OLs is never a bad idea but guards aren’t generally impossible to find in free agency plus we’ll have at least two potential starters under contract. Wont be an absolute requirement to spend a high pick on one, in my opinion.
  4. They said it was during an offensive installation. Probably weren’t wearing helmets.
  5. I do remember them saying that when he was drafted. But in the more recent interview he only mentioned outside linebacker. So I just figured MLB would be a more down the line thing, not day 1 of offseason activities.
  6. Well, it helped in the Philly game week 1 at least where he had 1.5 sacks. That was the only win he played in last year. (Got hurt in Week 3). People do sleep on him being healthy being a reason for improvement in our D next year though.
  7. Biggest news so far is probably Jamin at MLB. Interesting since JDR specifically said they wanted to start him outside. Maybe something changed between that interview and the OTA sessions. If he can handle MLB that’s the best case scenario.
  8. This is the great thing about having Ioannidis on the bench. Perfect guy to rotate in on passing downs.
  9. Looks like the new guy Bobby McCain.
  10. Wow some really nice rankings for our DBs. Curl looks about right but I’m surprised he got that level of respect as a second year former 7th round pick. I thought they’d rate Fuller more as a CB2 than a CB1, and I thought Jackson would be more like 15-20 than top 10. And Collins in the top 32 is shocking. They must have a lot of faith in him getting back to the way he played years ago in New York... Seems unlikely to me. At least not likely enough to rank him as a top 30 safety in 2021. But if they are right about him and the rest of our defensive rankings... our defense will be even better than we are already expecting.
  11. I like that if Chase and Montez aren’t in camp at least they are together.
  12. Lol I know you’re joking but team sites are always generous with height listings for guys that need it. He’s definitely not 5-9. The good news is for RBs there’s probably more benefits to being short than there are to being tall. A 5-6 guy running behind 6-5 guys can just disappear on you until it’s too late 😎
  13. We’ll see how Cosmi is as a run blocker. He’s not a power guy per se, he’s strong but not particularly “big” for his frame at only 310 lbs or so. But where he’ll do real damage is going to be pulling and getting to the second level with his quickness where he can punish unsuspecting LBs and DBs. Shades of Trent Williams. 😎
  14. That is an interesting quote on RBs... He has to have meant Patterson because we didn’t add anyone else... Here are the 2020 PFF grades for the 4 guys you asked about. Leno’s run block grade was a bit of an outlier compared to past years, but on average it looks like he’s a bit better in that area than Lucas. But overall Lucas was actually better in 2020. Schweitzer also had his best year last year according to PFF. Flowers was the 32nd ranked guard in 2020 and 33rd in 2019... so very consistent in that respect.
  15. Small thing but you’ve got Chris Miller at LB. He’s a DB. I think he’s played CB and S. The team site has him listed at safety for what that’s worth.
  16. We had two available roster spots from releasing Moses and Christian. Even after signing RSJ we still have an available roster spot. (We’re at 90 currently but David Bada being in the IPP gives us 91 roster spots)
  17. Somewhat surprising that none of our tackles made the list. For what it’s worth, ranked purely by 2020 PFF rating: Lucas was 22nd, Leno was 28th, and Moses was 18th (although I’m sure him getting released hurt his odds of making this list). And as a side note: Kevin Pierre-Louis was ranked one spot above Holcomb on the LB list (#27). Had no idea PFF liked him that much.
  18. The only major jump next year is likely to be Allen. We will be able to do that and still have PLENTY of cap left over for other mid-level FA signings (TE,OT,LB) or even a big splash at QB. It's likely the cap will jump again for 2023 when extensions for guys like Terry and Payne would hit (and Sweat's 5th year option). I imagine we'll probably be pretty conservative again in terms of new signings next offseason in order to re-sign those guys... With the exception of maybe a big time QB if one becomes available via trade.
  19. Exactly this. Do we really need to see Chase and Montez in May? They’ll be ready come training camp. Let the guys fighting to make the roster get those reps.
  20. Numbers in on the Leno and McCain contract. I linked the McCain contact earlier in the roster thread but this confirms it. Very low. And the Leno cap hit is lower than the total contract amount reported. So cutting Moses and signing Leno ends up saving almost $4M against the cap.
  21. I read somewhere that Chase and Montez were expected to be around sporadically during the voluntary sessions. Not sure exactly what that means but I guess we’ll see. I can’t imagine it’s anything to worry about with those guys, especially Chase. Edit: Here’s the tweet.
  22. We’ll see how he looks in the offseason and preseason. Just as good a chance he’s a total flop and doesn’t even make the practice squad. All the athleticism in the world doesn’t matter if you can’t play the position. But if he does look like he can play they’ll make room for him as his ceiling is clearly higher than Yelder or RSJ.
