  1. Oh yeah he's clearly done. I'm just shocked he's still that young.
  2. The KJ Wright thing is interesting. I’m guessing he was holding out waiting for an injury to get more money. If we’re willing to give him what he wants because our current LB situation is so concerning… I could see it happening. Would feel a lot more confident with Wright, Holcomb and Davis in base, with Bostic as a backup to all positions. Also the problem with Gurley at this point isn’t even durability, it’s that he’s got arthritis in his knees and can’t play anymore. Sad story, but at least he got paid before his body betrayed him.
  3. To be honest kind of feels like Rivera just changing his mind on how many OLs he wanted for the last preseason game. 15 gives them a full three deep across the line. Also I think means they are pretty confident the #4 TE will be Reyes or RSJ and they want to see plenty of both of them.
  4. Slow your roll just a bit there. Love the positive vibes though lol
  5. Point is, turnovers happen. If you avoid every situation where you might turn the ball over, you won’t have a lot of explosive plays and you won’t have a very good offense. What you have to do is avoid taking unnecessary risks and know when to take calculated risks. I don’t care one way or another about Zach Wilson, but it’s a perfectly reasonable point, and I think it’s fair to say Fitzpatrick has a similar mantra… for him it will always be about limiting the “bad” risks.
  6. The hope would be we could start to change that perception by having another competitive season. But yeah, we certainly can’t afford to count on a trade like that materializing.
  7. When’s the last team that went through a season with zero turnovers? Wilson is making a good point, it’s all about balancing risk with reward.
  8. Haha yeah that was a narrative promoted by some the beat guys… Maybe he was amazing in practice but we certainly never saw it in a game.
  9. Reaves is an RFA next season. Depending on how they tender him, he’d probably still be cheaper to keep than Everett’s $2.3M cap hit in 2022. That’s a lot for a backup who’s going to be 30 years old.
  10. I’m calling my shot on Reaves. He’s making the roster. I’m not sure if it’s at the expense of Everett or Forrest, but I think he has more potential than the former and is more of a known quantity than the latter. And he seems to be a high character guy who is loved by his teammates and coaches.
  11. Ha this is a good question but I would assume it means in like… a scrimmage situation? As opposed to just kicking off a tee or practicing with just the kicker, snapper and holder?
  12. I don’t think a team could stash a completely healthy player against their will. The player could prove they are healthy with a physical. Also with IR the player does have to make the roster first. So we’d have to keep Reyes, then IR them, then sign back a replacement. Correct, he wouldn’t be able to practice on IR. But it would be a way of keeping him through to next offseason. If he’s actually perfectly healthy, they probably aren’t going to try to IR him. Either he’s close enough to ready to make the team, or he’s not and you try to place him on the practice squad and bring him up later in the season if he shows improvement.
  13. He’s back practicing fully so they’d probably have to come up with a different injury…
  14. Forrest a sneaky IR stash so we can keep Everett and Reaves?
  15. I agree with all this… but I still think it would be considered a surprise to most people.
  16. I’ll admit I’m concerned. I don’t like the idea that he’s had zero practice time to get any sort of timing down with Fitz. That doesn’t happen overnight, it will take a few weeks at least. And that’s assuming he’s actually fine and will play week 1. Just fine it hard to believe that he’ll just pop into the lineup and be full go from the first snap.
  17. Thanks for digging this up. Definitely confirms he won’t be bothered by keeping 4 RBs. I think that’s a lock. Also interesting that he only kept 5 LBs in 2019. Indicates that could be a possibility here as well given our lack of quality depth there. Otherwise all I’d take from this is he’s not that concerned by counts per position and will just try to keep the best players.
  18. Yeah I think it would be too hard to try to do from the beginning of camp or something like that. You have nothing to go off of at that point. Guessing the final cut from 80 to 53 makes more sense.
  19. I’d be down. Entries due at some point the night before cutdown day maybe?
  20. Then those big bodies all get their hands up in the air. 😎 Payne in particular is great at that, even though he’s the weakest pass rusher of the five.
  21. That’s a terrifying group to try to block. Even if you do everything right as an OL you’ll still probably get overpowered.
  22. I’ve been getting this sense recently too, I think I mentioned it earlier in this thread… I wouldn’t be shocked to see either Everett as a surprise cut or Forrest to the PS. Where did Finlay say that? I’d be curious exactly what he said.
