  1. You can't remove sitting federal judges except through the Congressional impeachment process. You would have to amend the constitution and that's not happening. Nope. Doesn't change a thing. The Senate acted as a body, asserting its constitutional authority. Retroactive removal of individual senators would have no effect. The judges are confirmed and have taken their seats. It's done.
  2. It doesn't work that way, for good reason. The doctrine of ostensible authority kicks in, and those appointees were confirmed by Congress. This is the same thing that birthers used to say about Obama: "If he was born in Kenya, he's not a natural born citizen and can't be President and so everything he ever did will magically be annulled." They were wrong about him being born in Kenya and they were wrong about what would happen if it was discovered that he WAS born in Kenya. Unfortunately, the process of cleaning up after Trump is going to be difficult and will take a while. It doesn't matter if Donald was a cheating lying **** (he was and is). He was elected president and the Congress confirmed the judges.
  3. I just heard three radio talking heads say that Kobe was better than Lebron andthat Kobe was the greatest hoopster other than MJ. I almost crashed my car. And Steph and Livingston
  4. Quoted for truth This liberal right here has repeatedly said that we needed to lower the USA corporate tax rate to be more competitive with other countries. But this stinker of a bill is every other bad, regressive idea the GOP has ever had, all rolled up into one giant ball of poo that is going to explode the debt, hurt the middle class and the poor, and benefit only the wealthy. It's not tax reform - its robbery of the treasury to gift the currently wealthy at the expense of the next generation. How much more debt are you leaving for your kids?
  5. twa's also one of the few people on here who actually reads the rules and follows them. As long as you do that, you can jerk people around as much as you want.
  6. No, I said you got the pathetic hack OUT of office
  7. Some truth there. On the other hand, if you used term limits to get rid of a pathetic hack congressman from rural Texas, what kind of person do you think is going to replace him?
  8. I already said - Lebron and Curry. Ah, a genuine scholar, just like me.
  9. The name John Maynard Keynes is absolute poison to conservatives, even though he is by far the greatest economist who ever lived and his principles have been proven and reproven, over and over.
  10. Fair enough. I'll still take Giannis and Simmons. Decent shooters are not that hard to find.
  11. Trump will find a toady who will do what he wants. It will be Robert Bork all over again.
  12. I understand the frustration. But the value of having legislators who actually know how to write, evaluate and pass legislation is much more important than people seem to understand.
  13. Here's a nice little tidbit from this lovely bipartisan tax bill. Supplemental hurricane insurance is deductable, but supplemental wildfire insurance is not. Gee, I wonder which state is the one that gets the wildfires (maybe a big one that subdizes the rest of the country with hundreds of billions more in tax dollars every year than it gets back from Washington)? And just which states get hurricanes all the time? The GOP is literally motivated by spite.
  14. Short term: Lebron and Curry. Long term: Giannis and Simmons. I would say Embiid but I fully expect him to break into pieces again and again and be out of the league in 4 years (which is too bad because the man is a national treasure).
  15. Wasn't Dan Johnson the fake preacher who liked to post racist stuff with black people drawn as apes? Or was that someone else?
  16. Then set an age limit. Plus, if the districts are not gerrymandered, many of those clowns will be voted out. Either way, term limits are a bad idea. They seem like an easy "commonsense" fix, but they are a lousy idea. "For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong." - H. L. Mencken
  17. No, because term limits are a terrible idea. A Congress full of noobs doesn't know what it is doing, and relies entirely on lobbyists and partisan "thinktanks" to craft legislation. We learned that the hard way in California. The real problem is gerrymandering and campaign finance. You need competitive races, not automatic turnover.
  18. Harden or Curry or Kawhi. All have a legit claim. Maybe soon Giannis gets there too, but not yet.
  19. Who cares what Wall has "earned." Add Lebron to that team and you have a shot at a ring. Currently, you do not.
  20. Welp. Another morning shot. *googles Schumer Cernovich* *digs in for the long haul*
  21. The value of the puppet is to get rid of those pesky sanctions that hurt his cronies and to allow him to swallow Crimea and the Ukraine in peace and quiet. And make the rest of Eastern Europe turn away from the West because they don't believe the US will protect them anymore.
  22. To be fair, there really aren't very many people who are as good or better than him at distributing the basketball.
