Yeah, I’m in the no retread boat myself if we can somehow get our hat in the top 7-8. When the season began, I was in favor of getting cam after his one year of no fun playing for bellichick. But cams done. I’m not that sold on fields like most. I don’t like the way he plays when rattled and I think that osu o really hides some of his flaws. idk....Wilson could be a stud. It’s possible. I like the idea of taking Jones, keeping our pics and riding with Alex til Jones is ready. I think we’re built for that kind of qb. The mobility thing bothers me a little too, but as long as he doesn’t prove pocket fumble prone, I’ll take the good with the bad. Seems like he has the inner clock that would allow him to throw the ball away quickly to avoid too many sacks Id happily take him with our 1st and keep it movin with Alex til Jones is ready.

I’m a Jones guy as well. Very cerebral qb. Could easily fall and could easily develop into a solid starting caliber qb a la Alex smith

Speaking of bortles/jax ...your thoughts on minshew as a flyer for a year or two?...whether it be behind Alex or ahead of him.

Alex gets thru his reads super quick and gets the ball out. Unless there’s immediate inside pressure, Alex is gonna get the ball to someone. I’ve had my reservations regarding Alex but I’m happy to acknowledge that his playing style marries well with what turners offense appears to be tryin to do. ....is it possible we’re....improving?...lol

I think he’s a rhythm runner that can eventually wear down defenses. He’s also dynamic enough to turn swing passes and screens into long gainers. I’d just prefer to see more of him and way less barber. Really the only spell given is the occasional 3d nod to jd. just my opinion and I am no head coach. I just see a potential bell cow

Game plan should be 25-30 touches for gibson. He is a 3 down back. Are we easing him in or is his knowledge of the playbook limited? Get that man his touches either via handoff or in space and let him do work. Outside of F1, he is our only weapon and I think we way underutilize him

I say winnable according to matchups. We match up well with our division opponents and I believe we match up well with the lions, bengals & panthers. as has been stated tho, we lose a lot of winnable games...hell, we just dropped a winnable one to NY. that said, we could just as well shut down sf’s ground game and give Big Ben a run for his money with a lackluster offensive line. We excel at stopping the run. We also excel at stopping the pass. We get destroyed in short games and mobile qbs. Those styles mute our pass rush. the key is for our offense to continue to convert 3d downs and take shots when they are there. Don’t force anything. Get the ball to playmakers in space and let them run. Sims will be back soon. That’s gonna give us a whole new element we’ve sorely missed

I see 6 very winnable games remaining. We lose to the 49ers, Steelers and seahawks. The rest are very winnable. That’ll put us at 8-8

Pressure up front is the key for us imo. With chase et al collapsing the edges, there’s nowhere for qbs to step up. If we can execute this properly, we don’t have to send xtra folk all the time. Pressure with 4...consistent pressure...is what they need to consistently produce
