  1. No offense taken. But compared to forming opinions of NK capabilities from a silly photo, that was pulitzer prize material.
  2. So you see that picture and you have made up your mind that N Korea doesn't have serious military capabilities? Your a journalist aren't you? While not as entertaining as your pictures you may want to do a little reading before demonstrating your ignorance of the subject. Here, I'll help... http://www.defense.gov/News/NewsArticle.aspx?ID=27769 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_People's_Army#Weapons http://www.icks.org/publication/pdf/2012-SPRING-SUMMER/8.pdf ---------- Post added April-4th-2013 at 03:22 AM ---------- Yeah, the possibility of millions of people dying is just hilarious.
  3. And just what is it you think those pictures prove?
  4. I agree with the first part of this post, all we can do is speculate but none of us knows for sure. What scares me most is that Kim Jong Un may be an Adam Lanza with nukes.
  5. What you found are *estimates* of capabilities on a website. It may be correct, or NK may be way ahead of where we thought and that's why they are acting so confident.
  6. Either they are doing their very best to goad us into striking first so they can play the victim card or they really have lost their collective minds and may actually start a war. I'm glad I'm on the east coast. I cant help but remember the lefties who for years fought against a missile defense system. I wonder how they feel now.
  7. Sadly, we may not be given the choice for peace. That makes things really tough because if I had a crystal ball and knew for a fact that NK was going to attack, I would MUCH rather strike first because although they cannot win, if *they* strike first, they will do a lot more damage and kill more people. ---------- Post added April-3rd-2013 at 08:06 PM ---------- They just put something into space. IMO they likely have the capability to hit targets at fairly long range, accuracy and reliability are the biggest questions.
  8. One of the amazing things about human behavior IMO is our inability to understand different perspectives. You have 10,000 times the information that a typical NK citizen has about any subject other than whatever menial job they have. They don't play golf and likely have never even seen the game played. Sorry but if you were a NK citizen, your BS meter would be calibrated to whatever the "dear leader told you.
  9. An interesting and valid concern. What scares me is that the boy dictator has been raised to believe the bull **** he talking. Then there is that whole lower aversion to risk taking in young adults thing. This kid is playing a very dangerous game. He may not be able to win but he sure as heel could end up killing a whole lot of people.
  10. This really is a dangerous tipping point. Make no mistake, this is NOT a peaceful space program. If N Korea wants to put a satellite in orbit it would be 100 times cheaper to pay china or someone else to put it up for them. This is about building an ICBM, and with this launch they are pretty damned close to being able to hit the US.
  11. I heard about this one and all I could think was "I'll bet he doesn't have a problem with cashing his checks." Nice thread idea. Lots of times I see something funny or odd in the news but just don't think it's worthy of a new thread. I hope it gets used. ---------- Post added November-27th-2012 at 04:07 AM ---------- I heard about this one and all I could think was "I'll bet he doesn't have a problem with cashing his checks." 12. Come on Jumbo. Haven't you learned by now that the only real measure of a man is how much money they have?
  13. Yay capitalism. And before someone starts calling me a commie, the point isn't that capitalism is bad, the point is that it's not the best answer to everything as we have been told ad nauseum by the right.
  14. Yeah, its terrible that a repressive dictator who starved his people has died. We should all be in mourning.
  15. Only if you plan on taking it drag racing or stump pulling and never want to drive on a highway ever again.
  16. Yeah, I know. The thing is that my car is already "RPM fast" and I really would be pretty satisfied with just a little more oomph. It really is an amazing car as it is now. As for the value, I got it way under its market value and with the type of car it is, it is only going down but so much. Well worth putting $500-$1000 into. No more than that though. If it comes to that, I would trade it in on a tire smoking Z4M if I can find a used one one day.
  17. Heh, funny thing though is I'm looking at those couple of HP and thinking that if I add them to the 9 claimed by the cold air kit and and maybe a couple more from a performance muffler.... See, the problem is that my Z4 is almost maxed out for performance from the factory and I'm trying to squeak out what I can to get it's 2.5 liter as close as possible to the faster 3.0 and hopefully gain a little mpg to boot. Going on claims: Cold air kit / 9.5 HP @ $350 - about $39 per HP Pulstar plugs / 9 hp (peak) @ $150 - about $17 per HP $500 for a grand total of 18 HP. :thud: Base 2.5 - 184 hp Base 3.0 - 225 hp
  18. Thanks for the feedback. That's what I've been thinking. Still, there are those dyno results. Even one on video on Horsepower TV. (I know shows like that shill parts but it would be pretty messed up if they fixed the test. Oh well. I'm not in a rush. I'll keep waiting for more proof. Oh, and a general thanks for taking the time out to answer all of these questions from everyone.
  19. Yeah, I'm a sceptic about things like this myself but there does seem to be some evidence that they work. As for NASCAR, I know they have regulations for all kinds of things to keep an even playing field. Not sure if plugs are one of them. I figured I would go with the Bosch for now since they are the recommended plugs. Mine look like this...
  20. OK I have a general question. Has anyone heard of "PulstarTM" spark plugs? They are supposed to have some electronics in the plug to control the spark and the company makes some pretty bold claims about horsepower, Torque and MPG improvements. I'll be doing a tune up soon and I've got some Bosch plugs I'll be using to get a baseline (pretty cool aircraft style plugs themselves) since it's a used car and I want to get it back to it's stock peak performance. But shortly down the road I plan a few upgrades like a cold air kit and I'm wondering if I should give these things a shot. The problem is they are $24 each and I don't want to do anything that may potentially damage my engine. http://www.pulstar.com/index.html http://www.betrmpg.com/PulsedPowerTechnology.htm
  21. Only when my crotch is hot. Funny how a one dimentional photo can distort reality. Actually I was holding the beer in front of me. Between that and the the fact that I am "pointing" at the girls crotch, that pic did'nt come out quite like I had envisioned it.
  22. Yeah but my legs look fat, I was retaining too much water.
