  1. I don't know what the right decision is. But I may have made the same decision. As a Cowboys fan... I got to watch my team's kicker go 0 for 2 on extra points today. I have also seen Aaron beat the Cowboys on last second drives with less time. It may be the wrong decision, but going for 2 was their only chance to win in regulation. If you attempt the extra point, the best you can hope for is a chance to tie in regulation. Rodgers has come out with a win on several drives with less time. There is also a 50/50 chance he gets the ball first in overtime.
  2. I am going to be rooting hard for the WFT on Tuesday. The Eagles sub on reddit this past week was so filled with classless fans laughing about Washington players getting covid, and talking about how funny it would be if Washington had to play without a QB. Now they are outraged about the schedule change, and screaming how unfair it is to have to play on a short week next Sunday. Just about every team in the league has had games 4 days apart this season. Philly having only 5 days between games, after just getting 15 days off, is about the most unfair thing they can imagine. I think they are just upset that they have to play against real NFL players. WFT 17 Eagles 13
  3. Tesla has never been able to make a car that they could sell at cost. They spend more to make the actual car than anyone is willing to pay for the car. However, they get "carbon credits" from government. Companies that sell gas powered cars (i.e. cars that can be sold for more than they cost to build) are forced to buy these credits. So, the government basically forces competitors to pay Tesla to build their cars. But that still doesn't result in a car that people would be willing to buy. So, in the US, the government will send you a check for $7500 of taxpayers money if you buy a Tesla. I had the pleasure of learning about this a few years back when I had to pay the alternative minimum tax to the IRS. I made the mistake of maxing out contributions to our retirement accounts, our kids college funds, and purchasing our first home in the same year. IRS hit me with a $10k+ alternative tax bill. If I had bought an electric sports car instead, there would have been no AMT, and the IRS would have sent me a check for $7500. I have some feelings about that still...
  4. That is the nature of GameDay threads. I tend to follow threads from both team's fans. Some observations I have are: - Both fan bases can be certain that their team is going to lose at the same time. - Fans really hate the announcers when their own team is losing. In most GameDay threads, there are multiple complaints about how biased the announcers against their team, but only when the other team is winning. - You will almost never hear a fan note that the team they root for is getting away with more offensive holding than the other team is. It is always the other team getting away with egregious, game changing, holds. - Fans are much more likely to blame their teams' "play calling" as a reason their team lost; while they almost never say their team won because of the other team's poor play calling. -For team's with a losing record, if their team gets a lead, you will hear a lot of talk about how the team should have won most of their previous games if it wasn't for fluke plays and bad calls by the refs. Once they lose their lead, it is proof that the whole team and coaching staff need to be blown up.
  5. I kind of feel like the whole team is throwing Tress Way under the bus at this point. The defense is going to allow Dickson 7 punts already? Way to support your teammates? Damn.
  6. This sucks. I have been waiting all week for the Tress Way vs Michael Dickson punting battle. So much bad blood between them since Dickson stole the All-pro selection in 2018. Then, after a great start, the game got boring with back to back scoring drives. Sad.
  7. Is that a real stat? If it is, I kind of want to throw that out there on a Seahawks message board. In the event of a Seahawks loss, I would be curious if any Seahawks fans bring it up as a piece of evidence that proves their whole front office and coaching staff needs to be fired for incompetence. I'm kind of curious, from a social science perspective, if that info increases fan frustration during team losses. P.S- as a Cowboys fan, over the past month, I have noticed I have had an increased interest in the topic of fan frustration during losses. Not sure why.
  8. On Thanksgiving I was able to convince myself I could be thankful that I would be able to enjoy today's games without the frustration of watching Dallas crap the bed again. So, at least I got that going for me today!
  9. What if X (a hamburger) costs me 5 dollars in indirect and direct labor costs total to make? Are you just saying that the price has to be higher than that to make a profit? I understand that. What happens if the labor cost of X becomes more than anyone is willing to pay for X?
  10. He just left the house. No one was hurt. That was a scary situation, but turned out as best it could.
  11. I have never taken an economics course at any level, so I don't understand many of the basics. But, I am wondering if that is set in stone, or just your observation? In the hamburger example... if a rancher has to pay more for feed because the feed company increases wages and passes that cost to ranchers, then they have to pay their employees at the ranch more due to increased labor costs also, then they pass both costs onto the food processor who buys their cattle, who pay their employees more, then have the food transported at a higher price due to drivers getting paid more, down the line to the McDonald's who are also paying employees more... it seems like it would be an a cumulative effect. Are you just saying that if McDonald's increases wages 10%, that means them increasing prices by 15% can't be blamed on wage increases? Honest question. I'm not educated on this stuff.
  12. It is a bit ironic. Garrett's greatest game in his career as a player was a comeback win against Green Bay on Thanksgiving.
  13. That 4th down scramble and completion from TH gave me Romo vibes. He can be fun to watch.
  14. I have never watched much college football. Except a few championship games in the past. I just looked at the box score on this game. I can not wrap my brain around the fact that a team can rack up 500 yards of offense in the first half of a game of football. I need to watch some highlights because, I am used to the NFL, so I have never seen anything like that. I also don't understand how this can happen against a ranked team, let alone a team ranked in the top 10.
  15. I may have failed in my attempt to temper my excitement. My first clue is that I was checking for the exact time that Prime is going to release the first few episodes. I'm hearing that it may be as early as 8 pm eastern tonight, as that would be 12am GMT of the 19th. They have used midnight GMT to release some other titles. I have a feeling that I will be switching out of the NFL game tonight frequently to see I it has released yet. I have not tried to watch anything the moment it is released since GOT.
  16. I felt the same way. I like all three, but the whole movie just seemed like it was so low effort from everyone... the plot was so weak. It seemed like they started with an idea for a few of action scenes, and the writers were told to fill in a plot to get from one big scene to the next. But even the action scenes made no sense. How many prisons have a budget that makes sure the guards have access to shoulder launched missiles... but don't have the budget to build a wall to keep prisoners in? I actually had some trouble following parts of Wonder Woman because of how attractive she is. I would find myself staring at her, but not processing what she was saying. Kind of like Clark Griswold in Christmas Vacation with the girl behind the lingerie counter. I would be looking at her talking then be like "Wait... What just happened?"
  17. I agree 100%. Dallas has only had 3 losing seasons since 2004. So, they are typically picking in the the middle of the first at best. That has not stopped them from being able to put together talented teams. I prefer a winning season to a high draft pick. Even if it doesn’t result in a championship, I want the team to go out and win games.
  18. Just read this in a game recap today. He may never play a game again... but it feels like a "Rudy" type victory. He gets a chance to step on the field in a real game. Congrats to Lirim! "Cowboys kicker Lirim Hajrullahu made his NFL debut at age 31 with Greg Zuerlein on the COVID-19 list."
  19. Up by 10 points. The only chance Tampa had was to run back an extra point try.
  20. I'm trying to temper my excitement. I tend to enjoy shows more if I keep my expectations in check. Also, I think they are going to have a new actor play Matt in the 2nd season. Seems like a pretty big change considering Matt is a major character in the books.
  21. I sent this tweet to Tom Brady. I let him know his time is over and the tides have turned against his overrated team. I explained in colorful terms that the WFT is planning to run up the score on his geriatric ass. Tampa 34 WFT 10
