Um, the 1991 Redskins were NOT boring to watch, even without the B&G glasses. Two punt returns for TDs. Scored at least 3 TDs in all but a few games and scored more than 30 8 times, including 5 the first 7. We were in the top 5 in passing yards and led the league in yards per attempt and while not considered all that meaningful by many, averaged over 14 yards per completion. Only 1 team threw for more TDs and no team was considered a better RZ passing team. We did dominate our opponents most of the time and had so many games wrapped up by quarter 4 (only 6 games could have gone either way), so I guess that can make for a boring game if you don't have a horse in the race (or are a fan of the dominated team).
The team is overlooked because it was pretty much an end of an era. Dallas would come the dominate team on the NFC East and the NFC Beast got on the road to the NFC Least. The next year, we pretty much backed into the playoffs. It was not preceded or followed up like the Green Bay or Pittsburgh. The 24x7x365 NFL of the WWW/CBA era had not yet become a thing and now many of the sports media grew up in an era when the Redskins were at best mediocre, some even probably during the long periods of suck we've experienced since that year.
