Well now that's interesting. CBS sports has 3 players they put up for best fit on the team that is currently on the clock. Past 4 picks I don't believe one of the picks was one of those names, (hardly in thread either). Okay. Well. That's another draft day.

Welcome sir to the team. Good luck.

Draft Scouting Report:
Rating: 66.40 (Role player)
Pro Comparison: Tashawn Bower
Summary:
Andre Jones is more of a specialized edge rusher who wins with quickness and waist bend at the high side of his rush. He needs to improve his play strength to be more effective at the point of attack and hold run gaps. He is a fluid athlete capable of dropping into coverage. Jones needs to develop more counter moves.
Strengths:
- Good athleticism to drop into coverage
- Good bend at the high side of his rush
- Fluid athlete with good quickness to set up pass-rush moves
- Long arms to dictate action at the point of contact
Weaknesses:
- Below-average job of turning speed to power
- Play strength needs to improve in order to hold up in run defense
- Needs to develop more counter moves
Combine Results:
- Vertical: 29 inches
- Broad Jump: 9 feet, 8 inches

Candidate For Bottom Of Roster Or Practice Squad
QuoteOverview
Long-limbed edge defender with an angular frame and a willingness to take on all comers. Jones’ production might not jump off the page, but he’s athletic and uses his length to put himself in position to make tackles. Jones could use more strength in his lower half both as a run defender and pass rusher. While they aren’t sustained, there are flashes of rush potential that might create a roster opportunity after a year on a practice squad.
Strengths
Adequate size with good length along the edge.
Punches and separates from blocker before seeking out the ball-carrier.
Quick feet to dart around traffic looking for the tackle.
Attacks blockers with forceful hands and lead shoulder.
Decent three-step speed to the top of the rush arc.
Hits sudden inside stride to attack the B-gap.
Transitions from run defender to pass rusher quickly.

QuoteOverview
Rodriguez is a powerful runner, but he lacks the burst and creativity to become anything more than a downhill grinder. He has the size and mentality to do the dirty work between the tackles, but it could be a challenge for him to get to and through the hole quickly in the NFL. He’s a physical blitz protector, so teams might envision a role for him as a second-half battering ram and third-down quarterback protector.
Strengths
Two-time team captain.
Thick frame with ability to pick up tough yards.
Makes tacklers feel his size at impact.
Stays square getting through downhill cuts.
Low success rate guaranteed for arm-tacklers.
Stays on his feet through heavy angle strikes.
Allows lead blockers to do their work.
Steps up with force against incoming rushers.

QuoteDraft Scouting Report:
Rating: 65.56 (Role player)
Pro Comparison: Bilal Powell
Summary:
Chris Rodriguez Jr. is a stocky, old-school power back in every way imaginable. He's thick, has a wide frame and has serious contact balance. He seemingly looks for contact and delivers hits on any defender in his path. He will not stand for weak tackle attempts and will even explode through squared-up defenders. He pinballs off defenders on a regular basis like it's not a big deal. He spins off them, bounces off, doesn't matter; he will not go down on first contact often at all. He ran behind a lot of lead blockers and showcased quality vision in tight spaces between the tackles. He has a glimmer of wiggle but very far from "elusive." He does a rare jump cut at the line if there was early penetration by a defensive lineman and occasionally can string together multiple cuts on the same run, but he has minimal-to-below-average burst and long speed. He doesn't have receiving capabilities. The biggest hammer of a RB in this class, he is a niche type player who could be useful in a specific role.
Strengths:
Legitimate bruiser who'll laugh at weak arm-tackle attempts
Seemingly unfazed by most tackle attempts
Good between-the-tackles vision due to loads of SEC experience
Weaknesses:
Minimal burst and even less long speed
Cutting skills are barely there

Welcome to the team sir. Enjoy.
QuoteLooks the part as a strong EDGE. Three-down type who's better against the run than anything else. Pass-rush move arsenal is almost non-existent. Will win at times simply due to his frame + power. Will be 25 as a rookie. (Chris Trapasso)

Summary:
K.J. Henry has good waist bend at the high side of his rush and is capable of turning speed to power. However, he needs to develop more secondary pass-rush moves. Henry has limited pass-rush production but peels off to impact pass lanes when his rush does not get home.
Strengths:
Impacts pass lanes when rush does not get home
Good waist bend at the high side of his rush
Good job of turning speed to power
Weaknesses:
Limited pass-rush production
Average-to-below average top-end speed
Below-average quickness
Needs to develop more secondary pass-rush moves

NFL Comparison Lorenzo Carter
Overview
Highly athletic edge defender with good size. Henry has upfield burst, but he tends to be a face-up rusher and will need to improve his hand usage for more effective corner turns. He can be dynamic when twisting and blitzing as a moveable piece around the defensive front and he does a nice job of setting up a buttery smooth inside rush that is often too quick for tackles. He can dart and disrupt as a one-gapper with his hand in the ground but has more trouble than expected in setting firm edges as a run defender. Henry’s strengths and weaknesses are well-defined, with the upside to become a starter.
Strengths
Community-oriented team captain with high personal character.
Disruptive snap quickness as run defender.
Plus pursuit burst to tighten the outside run lane.
Ankle flexion allows for tight turns.
Reaches in and targets throwing hand around the rush arc.
Capable of transitioning speed to power in his rush.
Stays low and smooth for electric inside rush counter.
Reads quarterback and frequently bats down the pass.

Accolades:

Summary:
Braeden Daniels is a lighter offensive tackle with long arms. He does a good job of adjusting his hands when engaged but can do a better job of sinking his hips to absorb pressure. Daniels does a good job of playing angles and sealing run lanes. His versatility having played three positons will make him a hot commodity.
Strengths:
Good use of his hands, adjusts his hands when engaged
Does a good job of playing angles and sealing run lanes
Great versatility having played three positions
Good mobility to combat quicker edge rushers

NFL Comparison
Hakeem Adeniji
Overview
Active, athletic offensive lineman offering room for development at guard or tackle. Daniels is an impactful down blocker with the quickness to handle zone-blocking duties. Firing out and sustaining drive blocks, however, will require much better patience and footwork to keep from whiffing or falling off blocks. Small hands prevent him from latching in as a run blocker or in pass protection, but flurrying hands and a tenacious mirror help him stay in front of rushers. Position versatility and correctable issues could raise Daniels’ draft profile as a middle-rounder with upside.
Strengths
Crashes into down block with momentum and leverage.
Plays with decent bend and athleticism.
Lateral quickness to play a gap over as move blocker.
Potential to become an effective work-up blocker.
Instinctive and intelligent in protection.
Tenacious to mirror and jab throughout the rep.
Recovers quickly when he gets beat.
Squeezes B-gap with effective pass-and-receive twist defense.

Of all the ****ing things...... This asshole, (Desantis), is going to be in town in June for an annual event. Sigh. It might be funny though being there's a decent amount of Dumpers in town.

I crossed an imaginary line some time ago. That was the line between trying to understand the maga faithful and just not caring. That's led me crossing several more lines since then. The latest is **** them. And like others here, I have family members who are said faithful. Yeah. Not a lot of contact these days.

Whoa. Here we ago already and, well, again. As most know this is what the name implies. A quick quick reference thread to Washington's draft picks this year with info and links to discussions and more info,(and videos many times), about those picks and other draft day subjects. It's no meant for discussion just a spot if you need some info real fast and sort of a directory for the discussions. Okay. Here we go and here's hoping for a fun draft.

Cam Dantzler
Overview
Forbes is long, can run and has a talent for taking the ball away, which means he has a chance to become a coveted cornerback. However, his wire-thin frame does not work in his favor. Forbes’ instincts and recognition are fun to watch. He pounces on quick-game throws and has the ball skills to take the ball away. He’s highly capable in all forms of zone coverage and operates out of press-man, but is inconsistent matching the release and staying in phase with routes through sharp cuts. His slender build and lack of tackle strength will make him a target for opposing running games. Forbes could become an early starter with quality ball production, but teams might need to expect some up-and-down performances.
Strengths
Two-hand jabs keep receivers occupied in press.
Plays with smooth side-shuffle technique in deep zone.
Above average pre-snap play recognition.
Instincts allow for quick read-and-react jumps on the throw.
Swings arm through catch point to separate the football.
Soft hands with the ability to leap and win at the high point.
Uses his length as an effective recovery tool.
Can be hard to throw over the top of him.
Posted 14 career interceptions with six returned for touchdowns.

Round 3
Overview
Versatile cornerback/safety prospect with the size and physical talent to play nickel back or align as a deep safety. A buttery smooth hip swivel allows him to glide and transition effectively from his pedal, but he has just average route recognition to stay connected to clever route runners. Martin’s speed and explosiveness at the NFL Scouting Combine was eye-catching, but he needs to play consistently to that speed on the field. A team will need to decide where to play him, but he has the potential to become an early contributor and a starter further down the road.
Strengths
Desired NFL body type with good size/length.
Offers nickelback and safety versatility.
Oily hips provide free-flowing transitions.
Nimble feet to stay in phase with the route.
Burst to close includes soft hands and plus ball skills.
Has the range to play over the top as a safety.
Punches and separates to free himself in run support.

Round 4
Overview
Center prospect with enough athleticism and strength to be considered scheme independent. Early impressions could leave evaluators unimpressed with his lack of control at times; however, his process and results should quickly grow on them. Stromberg generates decent movement at the point of attack and is well-schooled with landmarks as a zone blocker. His waist-bending causes inconsistencies with his mirror and recoveries in protection. He has an innate feel for angles and positioning that leads to some unexpected block wins. Stromberg has a chance to become a starting center with the flexibility to play guard if needed.
Strengths
Makes calls up front with great awareness.
Plays with early leverage and leg drive moving forward.
Hits lateral landmarks taking opponent diagonally.
Gritty to fight through contact imbalance and continue sustaining.
Consistent timing working up to linebackers.
Instincts to find additional work that helps spring runs.
Keeps head on a swivel in search of rushers from either gap.
Athleticism to flip feet and redirect to back-side rusher.

Mid morning yesterday we had flood warnings and a Winter Storm warning in effect at the same time. This courtesy of our latest "atmospheric river". I was out surveying said flood warnings around the valley,(yep. There was flooding),when the rain turned to snow. Roughly 8-12 hours ahead of when it was forecasted to do so. I'd estimate at its heaviest, the sierra cement was falling 4 inches an hour. Branches of trees in my yard and others on the block were coming down fairly rapidly after awhile. Tried to knock off as much as I could from the 2 trees in my yards and and on neighbors as well. Not much luck. Just came inside and it's a wreck out there. The damage could be extensive around the valley as a result of this one.
