2 completely different divisions. I think the poster you are replying to, has way to high expectations for Year 1. Houston was in a division that had the horrible Titans, the Jags who collapsed after a great start and the Colts who were fighting with the Texans for a spot but with mostly their backup qb. So, conditions were favorable. We will be facing a Philly team that has made improvements to correct last year’s problems, a weaker Dallas team that should still compete for a wild card and then the Giants. An outcome like Houston while possible, doesn’t seem likely. You figure we struggle early on but as the team starts to jell and rookie qb gets more comfortable, the team gets better as season goes along. If we can make the playoffs great but our season wouldn’t be a failure if we miss the playoffs or finish with the expected 6 to 8 wins. If we end up like Carolina last year, then you can say the season was a failure. Since it’s 50-50 either could bust; I wouldn’t hold that AP. He’s making the best choice he thinks. If he misses, he’ll get one more crack at it.

Except for St Louis, attendance isn’t great. Think only DC and St Louis has over 10,000 and St Louis has 40,000+. My guess after a couple of years, UFL folds. -

Should the United States scrap the electoral college?

We know getting rid of the EC isn’t happening so this reform that Nebraska and Maine already does would at least be an attempt at reforming. The 2 EVs representing senators will still be based on who wins the state overall. That’s 100 total EVs. Then you have 435 EVs representing congressman. If you award those by who wins the district like Maine and Nebraska, that alters things. I don’t see it happening though as Dems will not want give up all those California and New York EVs and Republicans give up all those Texas and Florida EVs. If it happened, it would change things. Where you campaign. Not sure who it will benefit. You have to go through several elections. Note: DC also gets 3 EVs but we know that is solid Dem. Congress should increase the size of congress, at least a little. DC deserves actual representation in congress. You can add congressional seats in other areas to even out how many citizens a congressional district represents. -

Break up California and Texas and New York. Heck, you coukd probably do the same with Florida. -

Saw the Indian action movie, Monkey Man. It was mostly in English, though some subtitles when Hindi was spoken. A man gets revenge one day from the killing of his mom when he was a kid. Gets a B. -
Yeah, no shorts cutes.😀 We want to be a team that consistently contends and when the inevitable downturn occurs, it’s not deep or long lasting. Just look at the free agency era since 1993 and see which teams have been consistent winners. Some of it does involve a little luck, ie Green Bay having 2 franchise qbs and possibly could have a third one with Love. We got competent people running the show now and they will make the best decision they feel. I prefer the rookie qb to start as soon as he’s ready. The only way to get experience is by playing but I don’t want the qb playing if he isn’t ready yet or we don’t have the line yet to protect him. I can live with Mariotta starting the season and then give way to the rookie qb; unless that rookie qb wows like Russell Wilson did in his rookie year.

Should the United States scrap the electoral college?

Right now the minority is imposing their views on the majority. The way the government is set up, gives the minority the power to block what a majority wants. As for the EC, nothing will happen to it. Unless some of the southern states turn solid blue; doubt the gop does anything. The popular vote seems to be an attempt to rectify things but the flaw seems to be ignoring the will of the voters of that state. If that state is giving its electoral votes to whoever wins the popular vote, then it could be ignoring the will of the voters of that state. The popular vote winner is candidate X but the voters of that state voted for candidate Y. I think this solution just creates another problem. They should try the Nebraska/ Maine approach. Allocate the EVs for each congressional district to whoever wins that district. So, you can have EVs in deep red or blue states going to the other party. Then EVs that represent the Senate, can go to whoever wins the state overall. It’s a fairer way of using the EC system. I don’t know who this benefits but it will mean more areas will be in play. -
There might not be a good qb left for Giants to take. Both Denver and Las Vegas are also looking at qbs. 4 QBs will be gone by time Giants draft at 6. Unless the Pats trade down, don’t see the Giants getting one of the better qbs. While drafting Pennix or Nix might be to high where Broncos or Raiders draft; they could trade back into first round or trade down their first round pick to take qb later.

Don’t worry. Trump wins, there will be no electoral college. There will be no voting at all. -
