  1. So here is an analyst who knows a lot more about evaluating players then most. When watching Jayden I never thought he left the pocket prematurely or "whenever" he felt pressure, which has been suggested by some. Secondly, yes, RG3 tried to develop into a pocket passer, but he couldn't. Daniels already is a pocket passer who also happens to have great wheels. A solid skillset that you could design some great plays around because he is not just a runner. If something happened and he was slowed down, he would still be a solid pocket passer.
  2. This is exactly why they drafted him. Sure, there are no guarantees. He could get hurt. But after watching him and listening to him, I wanted him more than any other QB in the draft. I think most fans made the RG3 comparison because of his perceived fragility. I compared him to RG3 in multiple ways. I think Jayden has a better mindset and is more dedicated to his craft. I think overall he is more mentally flexible. I think he is a better passer then RG3. AND unlike RG3 he enjoys watching tape and embraces game preparation. You have to take risks with this type of talent.
  3. I think the offense is going to be better this year. The play calling alone has to improve the flow of the unit, over the predictable bull **** from last year. Solid acquisitions in the draft and FA. The D is improved at LB & CB. Areas we have struggled with for what seems forever. I do think the team goes the way Daniel's goes. If he is solid, I see 10 wins and a playoff berth.
  4. I agree. He went through so much in college and he just kept plugging away. You have to love the game of football and be strong minded to overcome as much as he did in college. Sounds like he is not taking anything for granted. His studying is going to pay dividends. I love hearing that. What separated Peyton Manning IMO from other QB's was his ability was to read defenses. It certainly was not his arm talent. He used to say jokingly "I throw ducks." You think of Brady and Manning, and they were meticulous in their preparation for upcoming games. I think Daniels is following in their footsteps.
  5. LOL! You are probably right. No one would want to watch the bottom dwellers of the NFC East, but of course I would love it.
  6. Peter Schrager predicted the last 3 SB winners, so he may be right. I would love that. And this time come out on top against the Giants. That would be another turning the corner moment for me as a fan.
  7. Interesting. I appreciate you taking the time to share that. I have watched him a number of times and thought he had a lot of potential. He has a huge arm. I agree with you about the "touch" issue, it has been bought up numerous times in scouting reports, and yes, I do think he could be worked with on that. I guess we will see how he pans out. I just think there is so much work with there.
  8. No, I am not saying that at all. I just think Milton is underrated. He has had an injury history, and that has hurt him. He has a great arm, can extend plays, elude pressure, etc. A good dual-threat QB. He is underrated is my main point.
  9. Just the general direction of the conversation regarding him. My apologies. I meant "tenor." There were a number of people hammering him, and I did not think he deserved it. He was my choice at #2.
  10. Come on how many first round QB's fizzled. A lot. Let's see what happens with Milton. He has good accuracy down field. He has had injuries, but I just think he is going to surprise some people. I do.
  11. I am enjoying the tenure of the conversation regarding Daniels. He is definitely most pro-ready based upon what I am reading coming out of some of these mini camps. I am glad to hear he is bigger than some thought, that he has solid rapport with other players, etc. And most of all that he has a solid passing game. I know the comparisons to RG3, but I just think Daniels is a better passer. You can't just have legs in the NFL, which we learned with RG3. I am also reading that Caleb is struggling throwing the ball over the middle and they are comparing that to some of Justin Fields struggles when he was with Chicago. Not sure I am 100% buying that. It seems to me that as the #1 pick you should be able to do that fairly consistently. As far as New England is concerned, I am thinking Brissett will get the start and Joe Milton may even serve as his backup. New England stocked up at QB, and they are going to play whoever is showing up the best. They are talking about how well Milton sets his feet and how beautiful his long ball is. Some aspects of Maye's game that were picked apart on here, regarding footwork, according to the sports media is showing up in the rookie mini camp for him. BUT I think he will be bought along in a manner that he can succeed. That is a weak roster over in New England. I just do not think he will see the field this year, and I think Milton is no slouch. He may pass him on the depth chart.
  12. We seem to have decent coaches. We have a legit GM. We seem to have added some solid players in the draft and FA. The great unknown is how well they jell together as a team and how well JD plays if he starts. If he plays well, like C.J. Stroud did in Texas as a rookie, I think we could win 8 games. But I am 100% confident that the product they put on the field will be competitive and our embarrassing days are behind us. I am patient. I just want effort and competitiveness.
  13. Yeah, he did say that about him. I don't care for Saban as a person. He can be salty, and he is just not complementary. It made me look closer at Saninristil. You know plenty about football. The guy just may be a miserable horse's ass. LOL!
  14. No one has one bad word to say about Mike Saninristil. When Alabama creates their offensive strategy around avoiding Sainristil, you know he is for real. Saban called him the best player in the whole draft. And definitely Saban is not known for lauding players who don't go to Alabama. Heart and soul of the best defense in college football last year. I am really pumped about some of the players in this draft. I feel like we got a steal here, the more I hear about this guy. Hopefully he continues to play big for us like he did for Michigan.
  15. I really like the pic and read more about him based upon what people posted on here to be honest. Some in the media have claimed he is an "average" route runner and struggles to consistently make clean breaks. And that he is an average blocker, but he has put weight on his frame, which should help. I think he is pretty versatile. You can line him up in the slot or the backfield and seems to exploit soft spots in coverage, which Kelce with Kansas City does a lot.
