Internet poker

Actually, I don't play internet poker...but funny enough I played some "serious" poker for the first time today. My roomate had some friends over to play...so I decided to buy in. I made it to the last two...but got bullied around by the other guy who had more chips! Nothing like needing then getting the last turn card.

i use ultimatebet all the time (www.ultimatebet.com) its a good site but i would never play with real money. too many chasers and card catchers with online poker.

probably my worst bad beat was over the summer. i had pocket As and raised significantly preflop. some jerk called with 3, 5 suited. i tripped my As on the flop and i put the guy all in (him and i were the last ones in the tourney)...he called on an outside straight draw. he ended up catching running clubs and he beat my trips with a flush :(

A similar situation as DKS, I had pocket A's and pulled another A on the flop. The guy beside me went all in with an A, Q, 2 flop. The guy was out of his mind so I went all in as well. The lucky **** pulled a pair of Q's and ended up with a full house. This was at the casino atleast, and at the casino here, there is a "bad beat" pot. I won the bad beat pot of about 4500$, so it turned out pretty friggin sweet. This wasnt online, but still awesome.

I play regularly at Ultimate Bet and PacificPoker. Generally small stakes (.50-$1 antes).

My worst beat(s) were a couple of months ago on UB. Over the course of two nights (about 6 or 7 hours playing time) I had pocket kings cracked 4 or 5 times in a row. I thought I was getting lucky to keep seeing those cards but I could not win a hand with pocket kings!

I STILL slow play that hand now unless the board shows absolutely nothing, and them I'm STILL sweating the river A.

I normally play partypoker.com

Was going to play in hagerstown this weekend but the snow came in and ruined that one...

My worst beat was a real tournament where i had 2 8's down and flopped a full house over jacks, went all in and the other girl stayed in with a pair of 9's down (two pair) and got the full house on the river.. It took me down 60th overall and about 8 slots from the money.. I paced the house for a while over that one...

I normally just play single table cash, but then on friday nights i play a tournament for my 9$ +1 :)

(yeah i dont get out much)....

This is the closest to a bad beat I've had recently. The other night on partypoker I went all in with wired kings. I got one caller who had A 7. Idiot.

Anyway, the flop comes A A x. I was about to start kicking things when the turn comes up a K. Won about $30 on one hand, which is a lot for me. Poker is definately not for the faint of heart. :)

Actually played in a tournament this weekend with 35 other guys/gals. I made it to the final table of 6 and was sitting good in 3rd place in chips. It was just a matter of time till players 4-6 were weeded out. That was until:

I was dealt pocket Queens. The guy in second with chips immediately called "All In" and I knew for sure he was bluffing to get the others out. Well then the guy in first place with chips calls "All In" and I think to myself "what the heck do I do?" and so I decided to go all in as well. Well 4- 6 all fold out and so its the top 3. I flip em over and they smile and then continue to flip over their pocket Kings and their pocket A's. I have never sat at a table where three players have those pocket cards at once. Unfortunately, no face cards came after so I went from 3rd to 6th and out.

I will never forget that hand.

That really sucks man, stuff like happens on party poker all the time, or so it seems. It's never good to be the third caller though, epsically when both players have more in chips. Gotta let them battle it out.

Play them a couple times without raising anything at all. Then see if you like them anybody. Because if you trap one person that way, I am sure you will feel much better about them.

I don't like playing play money poker. No one plays real, and people are always going all-in because they can always get more chips. Thats why I stopped playing at partpoker. My worst beat was actually a win. I was sitting with 6+10 of clubs. Board flops 7+8 of clubs and an Ace. River was a 9 of clubs, so I'm sitting on a straight flush. I bet and everyone folds. It was a meager bet, so I don't know why everyone folded. Before I showed my cards, the guy next to me said, you have a straight flush. How bad does it suck to get the second best hand in the game, and not win anything off it. It was like my third time playing, so I probably gave it away.

Okay just had one. $30 table, first couple of hands, pick up AK in first position, raise 125, get one caller, flop was J83, had to throw out one bet to see if i could grab the pot, so i bet 150, he just calls, turn comes and its a Q. Because he just called I figured I might be able to steal the pot, so I bet just more than half my stack, 300, he moved all in, and with only 75 left, i had to call of course. He had AQ, called the flop with nothing, and then gets lucky on the turn. So frustrating to have a dominating hand like AK over AQ, and lose.

How is the play on Poker Stars??

PokerStars is one of the bigger sites with some of the better competition available.

I've always been partial to UB because it moves so fast. Tried Party and Paradise and they were too slow for my taste.

I hang at Pacific a good bit because, quite frankly, the competition is weak. I mean ... the goal is to make money, right?

I liked Pacific because of all the heads up tables. Other than that, I didn't really like the site. I've tried that True Poker site, that was pretty weak too. Great graphics, but the gameplay was far too slow.

For me PP is the best graphics combined with weak players and solid tables.

I am always on the look out for a new site though. I have had Poker Stars on my computer, but never actually played there.

You have to play at Poker Stars I think the play is great, especiall when you get into the bigger money.

I also play at poker room. What tables do you play at? and what is your name? Maybe we could play at the same table sometime.

Same thing with PP. Once you start playing 30's, 50's, 100's the play is usually pretty good. I would always rather play against good experienced players than a novice. People who don't know what they are doing call way too much, and it makes it much harder to win on the smaller tables. I don't like having a lot of money in my account though, so I always have to start small and it can be very tough to get out of them.
