afparent
Thomas to Start; Wilson Still Doubtful By Gary Fitzgerald Redskins.com December 3, 2004 Randy Thomas is expected to start at right guard in this Sunday's game against the New York Giants, meaning that Ray Brown will likely shift back to right tackle, head coach Joe Gibbs said. Thomas, who has a hamstring injury, participated in practice for the second day this week. He is expected to be updated to probable on the team's injury report. "On Thursday morning, he told Bubba Tyer [team trainer] that he wanted to massage it, get on the treadmill and then try it," Gibbs said. "He went out there and practiced quite a bit. I think he looks good enough to play." The news remains not so good for Mark Wilson, who was downgraded to doubtful on Thursday. Wilson sustained a knee injury in his first NFL start last Sunday in Pittsburgh. "I think it'd be hard for him [to play] right now," Gibbs said. Linebacker LaVar Arrington will sit out this Sunday's game against the New York Giants as he continues to rehabilitate from arthroscopic knee surgery. Arrington said earlier this week that he was optimistic about his chances of returning to the playing field soon, but team officials remain cautious with his injury. Arrington was expected to return in late October, but he suffered a setback during a practice that week and has been sidelined indefinitely. He has missed the last nine games due to the injury. Defensive lineman Phillip Daniels is also listed as questionable with a groin injury, but he participated fully in practice all this week. Gibbs was optimistic on Friday that Daniels would be able to play on Sunday. On Friday, wide receiver James Thrash and cornerback Walt Harris were added to the injury report with hamstring injuries. Both are listed as probable. Also listed as probable are: wide receiver Laveranues Coles (hip), defensive linemen Demetric Evans (ankle), Cornelius Griffin (hip) and Jermaine Haley (knee), left tackle Chris Samuels (ankle) and cornerback Fred Smoot (shoulder). The New York Giants listed defensive linemen Lorenzo Bromell (knee), Chuck Wiley (knee) and Norman Hand (groin) as out for Sunday's game. The Giants signed former Redskins defensive end Regan Upshaw on Tuesday to help with depth along the defensive line. Rookie safety Gibril Wilson (burner injury) is also listed as out. Linebacker Nick Greisen and center Shaun O'Hara are listed as questionable. Listed as probable are: running back Tiki Barber, safety Jack Brewer and linebacker Barrett Green. www.redskins.com

Mr. S
well, their d-line is battered, and their secondary is full of young people who've stepped up, and with Wilson out now, that can only help us now. I just hope for a win.

I hope that this goes a little way towards ending all the BS talk that it's Arrington tanking the rest of the season. He wants to play, and will once he gets the ok from the medical types. I agree, even though I now think that part of the reason Samuels is sucking is because of a nagging injury that has been kept on the down low:doh:
