DieselPwr44
Dan Rather is stepping down faster than a combine rolling through the cotton fields of the South..........Damn, in a way, I'm gonna miss his little sayings like that..........

KDawg
While I'm glad to hear this news... I'm going to miss his quotables... In example: "If you try to read the tea leaves before the cup is done you can get yourself burned."
ECU-ALUM
My personal favorite Rather line was during election night...a line he kept repeating over & over again, "So tell us again Ed...how can John Kerry win the election." Each time he said it you heard a little bit more desperation in his voice. Farewell Dan. I wonder if the Bush National Gaurd story had something to do with all of this? (Wouldn't surpirse me if it did)

redman
He's stated already that he plans to continue to do "hard journalism" ( ) after he steps down. To me, that can only mean that he was forced out rather than having this be a purely voluntary act.
