If he goes on IR that is not going to affect the cap, because technically he is still on the team. He'll probably be replaced with a $230 k player like Brandon Barnes off the practice squad or some similiar low salaried free agent. If he were to get an injury settlement, that would affect the cap, because he would have to be cut. But that isn't going to happen THIS YEAR.
