bubba9497
Redskins Tight End Ware Is Arrested By Jason La Canfora Washington Post Staff Writer http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A13149-2004Jun28.html Washington Redskins tight end Kevin Ware was arrested in Houston early Sunday morning for public intoxication, according to a Houston Public Department spokesperson. Ware, 23, was arrested at 3512 Main St., in downtown Houston shortly after midnight on Sunday and is believed to have been released later that day, although police officials were not certain of those details. Public intoxication is a Class C misdemeanor and carries a maximum fine of $500. "Obviously, this is a very serious situation, but we'll refrain from comment until we have more details," the team said in a statement. Cameron Foster, Ware's agent, did not immediately return calls for comment. Ware, a Houston native, made the Redskins' roster last season as an undrafted free agent from the University of Washington and is one of seven tight ends vying to make the final roster this season. He appeared in 11 games last season, starting one, and spent time alternating between the active roster and the practice squad. Ware is in the second year of a two-year contract and is scheduled to earn $535,000 this season. He caught three passes for 17 yards last season. bnacpa
Gibbs said in his first team meeting on the eve before mini-camp #1 that the two things he wants from the players are: 1.) Don't embarass the organization 2.) Use common sense Kevin Ware just failed on both parts. With as much competition as Gibbs has brought in and along with his no nonsense attitude regarding the focus on winning and setting the right things in motion ... Kevin is gone. He was iffy to make the team this year with all the veterans they brought in. He just made that call a bit easier for the coaching staff.

inmate running the asylum
Ware is in the second year of a two-year contract and is scheduled to earn $535,000 this season. Can't the WP write an article anymore without a blatant error? Every time a writer for the WP writes an article, there is a screw up in it. Kevin Ware is a 2nd year player and will NOT earn $535k this season. As a 2nd year player he would be scheduled to make only $305k. I think we should petition the WP to get Mark Maske back. Even the WT is writing more accurate and better articles now than the WP.
panel
A class "C" misdemeanor with a MAX fine of $500. This is nothing, public intoxication is such opinionated law. This dose mean a thing, he isn't goin to loose a roster spot over this, he will loose a roster spot because he isn't good enough to beat out the compitition. If some how he proves he is good enough, he be on the team. But there is no way he can beat out Kozlowski, Rasby, Baxter, Royal, or Cooley for a spot. I agree, but I think this makes the decision a lot easier. He was toast, anyway, because the competition at his position was so strong and so deep. This only makes it easier to get rid of him. He was good as gone, anyway. Nick

If you're going to state what a person makes in an article you should at least make an effort to make sure you're right. Ware, Kevin View Stats at Players Inc Site Player Info Draft Info TE (#) Year: 0 Washington Redskins Round: 0 Spring, TX Position: 0 Salary History 2003 225000.00 2004 305000.00 The two years together don't equal 535K and since he bounced between the roster and the PS last year he didn't make all of that 03 225K. This is not a serious offense. A young guy gets drunk. Big deal. As long as he isn't behind the wheel of a car who gives a damn. I have a problem with it being reported as a big deal and hope as long as it isn't a repeating problem that it not effect his career.
