goldenster95
Antwan Odom, a DE for the Crimson Tide has declared himself eligible for the '04 draft. He's 6'5", 277 pounds, and 22 as of this September. The skinny on him is that he's big and fast and he's late first-early second rounder. Anyone got the 411 on him? Fitz
From http://www.nflfuture.com/antwanodom.html : Strengths One of the most talented pass rushes in the nation. Is just a blur off the edge rushing, he is so agile and graceful for such a big man. Has great athletic skill, awesome speed rusher that can just knock the offensive tackle backward. Odom plays with wonderful strength and aggression, just a great looking defensive end. Weaknesses Does not show much more than awesome pass rushing skills, is not a complete defensive end but really at that position pass rushing is your main job. Is a very long lengthy athlete but will obviously have to get better in run defense to help his professional stock. Sometimes gets out of position and doesn’t read the play. Summary Freak athlete, that is said a lot about pass rushing defensive ends but Odom is a freak. He is strong, quick and moves with such grace and mobility around the corner. If he fills out just a little more and works on his total game he will be a very high draft pick. One of the best looking pass rush prospects around. jbooma
I hope that someone doesn't start a thread for every DE that declares for the draft  . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I just heard that a DE from Washington and Lee College is declaring is name is Sacko Q Back he runs a 3.5 and is 6'7 at 300 lbs
SonnyJ
If this scouting report is accurate, I'd take him in a heartbeat and put him in a rotation with the other DEs on the roster. Provided that he has the desire. I would do it with the hope that over a couple of years his body and game can develop in a manner that will allow him to be a complete player at the position. Cskin
What isn't mentioned is whether he is smart, coachable, and has the drive to become a better well-rounded DE. His measurable are certainly impressive, but so was Mike Mamula's.

Gamebreaker
Most likely, he'll go to the combine and impress the hell out of all the scouts there with his physical gifts and measureables. He'll be projected to be a late first rounder by the time the draft comes around.

Hitman56
Fitzman, I love how that site has us taking a QB in the first round of their mock draft. They also have the Raiders taking Winslow, even though they have Jolley and Teyo Johnson. Someone over there isn't doing any research for team needs. Skeletor The Invincible
I'd take him in the heartbeat, that is exactly what we need. I want a QB killing machine. Fast off the edge and keeps on coming. They say he is lacking in run support, but so are Simeon Rice and Javon Kearse and every other smaller DEs. Awesome
I agree Skeletor. We've seen what the bigger, "run-support" DE's can do with Upshaw and Wynn.

Cskin
yeah, he lacks in run support and probably takes the same "around your elbow to get to your rearend" circle route that Bruce Smith has perfected in his 20 years in the league. Since we've employed Bruce with that responsiblity, might as well make sure his replacement is well versed in the technique.
Dan T.
If we can't get Odom, we should look at this Sacko Q Back guy, even though he's from a small school.
OrangeSkin
I honestly don't give a damn about run support. That was the rap on Freeney coming out of college and he's turned out alright. He sounds a lot like *shudder* Bruce Smith or perhaps Jevon Kearse.
