ktball74
I didn't get a chance to catch the game Sunday. I was wondering how our dline played on Sunday. Especially the middle(DRussell, etc...). Thanks!
Ignatius J.
The answer is very well, BUT the giants offensive line was terrible. We had pressure up the gut on every play. We were much weaker off the edges than up the middle, but that was only after watching the game once, so maybe some people who have rewatched it by now can answer your wuestion more specifically and accurately. -DB
Cskin
I just watched the highlight of the Levens touchdown in which he carried Smith "piggyback" into the endzone. I was amazed that Russell...Dalton... and most of the rest of the defense stood there and watched Levens make Smith look like a kindergarten kid. But overall, I thought the pressure was better on the QB. I definitely noticed a good push up the middle from Russell especially, to a lesser extent Dalton. Holsey is the most intriguing, he has an unique ability to shed his blocker and penetrate for a good stop or sack. He's played much better than many realized he could... another solid FA pickup from the beleaguered F.O.

Symbol
Our line was doing it's job of taking blockers for the most part, that's why Arrington had 2 sacks, Armstead had 1 1/2 sacks, and Trotter had 1/2 sack in the game.
Leonard Washington
number 90 continues to impress me. he is constantly hustling and for a guy his size he is involved in alot of plays.
redman
We have at least two of the DT's we'll carry on the roster next season, IMHO. Russell's a wild card, but I like Holsey and Dalton. If we can keep Russell for a reasonable amount, and draft a good young DT, we'll be in good shape.
tkatz
Although our defensive line played well they did give up more then 100 yards rushing once again. They managed to rack up sacks against a devestated and beliegured Giants line and against a QB seeing his first action of the season... It becomes more apparent with each passing week that at the very least the Redskins need two more lineman. A pass rusher is crucial and a stud tackle would be nice as well. Troy Fakeman
I like Russell, I hope he stays, lifts off season, gets in shape, and comes in and just straight rapes people (Did I say rape?)
Burgold
we really defended the outside rush poorly yesterday, but we shut down their interior running game pretty well. QB pressure was good, especially in the second half.
Troy Fakeman
Yo......didnt LaVar play nasty yesterday? That was sw33t. Would have been better if he caught that Pass Def......cause you and I both know NOBODY was catching him.
Awesome
Yes, the d-line looked better. But remember, the Giants might have the worst o-line in the league right now. I'll be more convinced if the d-line is that productive against Dallas and Philly.
NoCalMike
I want to know why the Skins D didn't use this same attack mode against the Giants in the first game they played against them this season.
Troy Fakeman
What are the chances of us getting "The Freak"? Definately if we dont sign the best player in the NFL, Champ Bailey...that is for sure.
TLusby
Why don't we talk to Russell right now? If I were the owner I would ask Russell to sign a three year deal with incentives and a bonus right now. If he doesn't agree we cut him. Why showboat the guy and get him into shape so he can close the door with high demands. He hasn't shown that much yet and with three games left he might get some decent form which will cost us. If I remember correctly, if we were to sign him to a long term deal now, then we'd get hit with the cap this season instead of next, with the signing bonus and it would no longer be a prorated contract. TLusby
Maybe this is why I am not the owner and $800M of course!
OURYEAR#56
No Jevon Kearse. The guy is always injured. If you get injured in your contract year, then you'll always be injured. What we need is David Pollack. I think we attacked the G-men with a blitz last night because Jesse Palmer was the back, and the o-line was very shaky. This only enforces my opinion that GE should go. If he emplyed this scheme over the last few weeks, we may be in the playoff pictures right now.

Art
I don't know that the defensive line can be held responsible for the outside rushing game we are weak against. To me that's a corner, safety and linebacker thing, not a defensive line thing. But, that's me.
ktball74
GE is a rookie, and still learning how to coach in this league. The key is consistency and improvement.
