Socialism is an economic system, genocide is not.

That's one thing I'm starting to really notice about the conservatives' attacks on socialism, they won't talk about why the programs are bad or don't like, just this worst case scenario of every socialist country that used AUTHORITARIANISM to control and kill people.

Andrew Yang knocked it out on immigration.  He didn’t frame immigration as charity work, or as empathy, he framed immigration as a beneficial component of what makes this country great.  Something vital.  We need to look at it as competing for immigrants. We want them to choose to come here, to build a life here, and in doing so help keep this country great,

I must have missed that.  I thought Pete's answer was interesting.

Klobuchar seems too reasonable for this environment.  In the reality I was born in, the one where Trump would never have been elected, she’d have had a real shot at the White House.  In this demented universe I now find myself in, she’s not screaming enough or suggesting we do some crazy enough thing.

reminds me of what happened to Jeb Bush.  He was offering reasonable ideas and being nice, and everyone made fun of him for it.

She was my favorite when everyone started throwing their hats into the ring.  Reasonable, pretty centrist, not embracing every crazy progressive idea.  I think she'd be great but she just never got any traction.

I thought Pete’s answer on immigration as a solution for population drop offs in individual communities was interesting.  I’ve never thought of it in those terms.

The only thing saving us from our stagnent native replacement rates right now is immigrants.  Most countries that have gone full xenophobia like Japan, Russia, and China are heading for population declines.

So what happens if our trade partners don’t raise their labor and environmental standards, is Sen Warren suggesting we ban their goods if they don’t let her set their domestic policy?

You’re right, but that’s population in general.  He spoke about specific communities.  As in “if my town needs people” is a problem “let’s import some” is an option.

Good question.  I would support making American-based multinationals follow American standards even when they outsource internationally before making the countries' government do it.  We can't force that on our own, that's a buy in that will take time.

I think there's a real oppurtunity in regards to moving immigrants into rural areas to help replace the farmers that are dying off and their kids that don't want to do it as well.

Sen Warren wants to replace the military role in Afghanistan with global cooperation?  What does that mean in practical terms?  How does “build with our allies” stop the Taliban from slaughtering people in the short term?

You're overthinking it, imo.  What's changed about war in human history is now the winner is responsible for nation-building the loser, especially us.  I don't need that plan you're asking for detailed in the debate, the reality is we shouldn't be nation-building by ourselves.  We obviously can't afford it.

I agree with getting back to Congress being involved in not just declaring wars but staying in wars.
