Unsure if es is doing one but we'll see.

I don't think ES is doing a tailgate in Baltimore this season from what I've read, because they are going to have one over in London when the Redskins play the Bengals.

Not 100% sure about that, though.

ES away tailgates can be done by anyone, just post and organize the thread.  Many times, frequent ESers will be there at the tailgate who end up helping more than me when I do them!!!  I typically do one  for my 1 away game each year, and 1 philly game, however, this year I'm going to B-more.

To tailgate there is extremely difficult for a large group.  The passes get expensive if you go in the main lots, and we can't purchase a block or anything like that for our fans.  They are season ticket holder spots that sell off.  If you go to one of the random spots around the stadium, they fill up extremely quickly and if you do not arrive together, you might not be able to get to the lot with your folks.

For Orioles or Ravens games where I go, I typically head down early for a spot, but will head to a bar for brunch/meal and beverages.  Not as fun as a tailgate, but I don't have time for the research/effort I normally put in for an ES tailgate.

There are a few gameday cash lots avalaible, which you can spot by following the "Closest Parking"  guys waving red flags (acting as traffic cops, but they are not).   You'd want to arrive by 10 am for most games, perhaps earlier for this game due to interest from nearby Redskins fans who will be driving up I-95.  Most stadium official tailgating lots are sold to season ticket holders only, or resold at outrageous prices on StubHub.

Better facilities and proximity are usually available on game day at Stadium Lots J and O. (see map below).  I park at the Casino Valet Garage - which is the best spot in Baltimore for immediate (5 - 10 minutes) almost-direct access to freeways - passing Lot J very game and seeing many open spots at around 11 am.  Lot J would take about 15-20 minutes to slug through Casino traffic and pedestrians, and Lot O about 10-15 minutes - if you know your way via surface streets and don't get hung up by long CSX freight trains in your path.

Only Lots O & J welcome single game parking (gameday cash or in advance via credit card) via Panda Parking.  However, assumedly due to the demand for this game, Lots J & O aren't listed this week at Panda's website, so you may want to contact them in advance at 800-232-6415.

If you strike out on these lots, you're next best option would be the parking garages on the stadium's north side along Light Street or University of Maryland or the Convention Center Hilton, or on the south side at the casino ($25 regular, $50 valet). The  4,000 spot Casino garage is significantly better than north side garages for egress back to the DC area. Also, there are two very large bars which open just for Ravens games on Warner Street between the Casino (which has many bars itself) and the Stadium.

I am not driving, by having a quick look at the stadium I am guessing there are a lot of bars nearby anyway right?

The demand must be high my ticket was very expensive. Let's hope we show up both on and off the field. Are many Skins fans expected at this one? We seem to have more in the south road games than the north east ones!

on the east side of the stadium complex (Federal Hill area):

  • --  Mother's
  •
  • --  Magerk's Pub

north of Orioles Park:

  • --  Pickles Pub
  •
  • --  Pratt Street Ale House
  •
  • --  Camden Pub
  •
  • --  Alewife Baltimore (my favorite for O's games due to more mature crowd and beer selection, but it's a hike -- a few blocks north of Orioles Park)

South of Ravens stadium (on Warner Street, below RR tracks):

  • --  Gameday Warehouse
  •
  • --  It's Gametime
  •
  • --  The Horseshoe Casino has a about a dozen bars

As to attendance: the last Redskins-Ravens game in Baltimore had a Redskins turnout which the Sun estimated about 5,000, on the coldest night game ever played in Baltimore in my memory (wind chill was below zero).  With the Redskins playing better ball,  I would expect an even greater turnout, unless Hurricane Matthew, now threatening the Atlantic Coast, aims for the mid-Atlantic this weekend.

WOO BABY SKINS GOING TO "THE BANK"

Im hitting a huge ravens tailgate in LOT H. Ill be getting pretty wild as my ravens buddy bought us row5 tickets next to the tunnel. Extremely expensive but Ive been to a bunch of preseason skins vs ravens games and MandT is WAYY nicer then Fedex unfortunately.

Expect the normal trash talk but with a ravens fan going into critical condition over the 2 punk newyorker raider fans . Just be cool and the staff at mandt will take good care of you. I am really impressed how ravens and mandtbank stadium run the game events.

Mista T, man oh man. What a great map you posted and great info. If you have the time if you could share some knowledge. Ill be getting into city down 83 around 9am so early. Is there any cash lots we can park around LOT H? Just to park then head into lot h to party.

Oh and LETS GO O'S TONIGHT!

I tailgated in or adjacent to lot H for years.  Near Lot H, there used to be several cash lots  (i.e. not the lettered Maryland Stadium Authority lots).  There should be a couple of small ones on either side of Ostend at the corner of Ostend and Sharp, looking at the I-395 viaduct a few feet away and the stadium about 1/10th mile beyond.   There used to be a large unpaved lot on Ostend, a block beyond the traffic signal at Ostend and Sharp, but it may be gone due to a lot of new developments under construction in that area.  Also check out the parking spaces surrounding the small office park which starts at the SE corner of Sharp & Ostend.

There is also a large lot off Sharp, just past the RR tracks where the street takes a 90 degree turn towards Lot J & Casino and  becomes Stockholm Street.  Hundreds of Redskins fans tailgated here for the 2008 game (I hung out with several from this message board, including Mark the Homer, until the winds knocked down all the canopies).  My advice it is to take it only as a last resort. It's the worst location for stadium area egress, taking 30-45 minutes to exit.

There's another small one (holds 21 vehicles -- I actually leased the entire lot for 2009-2011 season).  It is tucked between three buildings at West & Peach Streets.  If you can snag a spot there, it the best lot on that side of the stadium because it's only 60 feet away from the circus atmosphere of Lot H (includes crabfeasts, kegs, bands, and on at least one occasion an exotic dancer in purple,).  Despite it's proximity to Lot H, you can carry on a converstaion about football (or anything) because the office buildings break the wind and the Lot H noise, which can be overwhelming.  Arriving at 9 am, you may be able to land a spot there. (Disclaimer: I haven't been over that side of the stadium for a few years and don't know for sure that it's back to being a cash lot since my gang moved elsewhere).

For clarification, this is NOT a Redskins tailgate, correct?  Is this a Ravens tailgate, where anyone who shells out $35.00 can join, regardless of your teams affiliation?

Nothing wrong with that, it sounds like a good tailgate, but advertising a tailgate, on a Redskins fan board, implies that it's for Redskins fans.

This is a Football Tailgate not a Ravens Tailgate. Redskins Nation will be represented well here! HTTR

I always like the Gameday Firehouse. Short walk to stadium. Pretty sure proceeds benefit a firefighters fund.

Good cheap food like pit beef sandwiches, cheap cold beer ($3 a bottle?), a guy walks around with quality cigars for $5, plenty of room inside and outside w picnic tables. TVs. Also a fun drinking crowd but seems to be older respectful but fun crowd. I would take my kid here.

http://www.gamedayfirehouse.com/ --- check out their menu and photo gallery. good food, good people.

Gameday warehouse is more standing, younger crowd.

Pickles/sliders is fun and then you do the ravens walk to the game.

fed hill -Magerks cheese steaks are legit philly, i hate the owner but ryleighs is really really really good food.
