i know she's an icon and superstar for all time, so it seems weird to say this, but I've always thought she was under-appreciated just for her voice---it's one of the most distinct and beautiful voices ever, but she didn't usually work it hard....just sort of low-key silky smooth and fluid, and still strong even when at moderate volume...very clear and pure tone...only occasionally belted it out, but didn't show much limit when she did.....oh...i'm still typing....
