Raiders Sign Rob Johnson

November 4, 2003

The Raiders have signed veteran QB Rob Johnson.

The Oakland Raiders have signed quarterback Rob Johnson. In order to make a roster spot for Johnson, the Raiders released running back/kick returner Ronney Jenkins.

Johnson, 30, has played in 46 league games with 29 starts in nine pro seasons completing 61.5 percent of his passes. He most recently played with the Washington Redskins appearing in two contests this season completing five of seven passes for 39 yards.

Johnson played in Tampa Bay in 2002 and was with the Buffalo Bills from 1998-2001 where he threw for over 2,100 yards in 2000 with 12 touchdown passes.

Johnson entered the NFL as a fourth round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 1995, where he spent his first three years.

I can see it now... the media will rave about this signing and claim that the Raiders are on course to turn things around and make a push for the playoffs.

Of course, if he entered a game as a Redskin QB the team would be ridiculed for having such a moronic backup incapable of grasping Spurrier's "COMPLEX & POTENT" offense.

Eff the media!!!!
